Dallas, TX: ANNADHATA Charities Ltd, a non-profit organization, started in 2011 with a motto to feed the needy senior citizens of rural areas of Andhra Pradesh. Annadhata is also providing food supplies to needy people in Dallas/Fort Worth area.


On Thanks Giving Day, Nov. 28th, 2013 Annadhata provided Indian groceries to more than 50 Nepalese/ Bhutanese refugee families at Hindu Temple of Greater Fort Worth. Dr. Prasad Thotakura, Indian American Friendship Council leader attended as a Chief Guest of Honor and distributed 10 lbs of Rice, 10 lbs of Lentil, 20 lbs of Wheat flour, 10 lbs of Potatoes and 1 lb of pickle to each family.

 



Dr. Prasad Thotakura appreciated the efforts of Bhaskar Reddi and Raja Reedy for initiating Annadhata organization to serve the food to needy people both in Andhra Pradesh and USA. Dr. Thotakura personally thanked Mrs. Puspha and Dr. Giridhar Mundluru who sponsored 500 lbs of Lentil, 500 lbs of Rice, 1,000 lbs of Wheat Flour, 500 lbs of Potatoes and 40 lbs of pickles to benefit more than 200 Nepalese/Bhutanese refugees.



Local Indian American community leaders Dr. Vishawandham Puligandla, Dr. Jagannatha Rao, Vish Palepu, Yaji Jayanthi, Purna Nehru also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of “Annadhata” in serving the needy. Several volunteers from SEWA, D/FW chapter including Yaji Jayanthi and Purna Nehru very actively participated with Annadhata activities to serve the needy.

 



Prasad Gujju thanked Hindu Temple of Fort Worth priest, management, Krishnamohan Puttaparthi and TV 5 for media coverage, Kumar for photography and number of volunteers like Sirisha Reddy, Nagesh Babu, Devender, Saroja Reddy and Sandhya Reddi who made the event successful.



Annadhata is run by Bhaskar Reddi (President), Veera Chinta (Secretary), Raja Reddy (Treasurer), KSN Reddy (Jt. Treasurer), Sudhir Medapati (Jt. Secretary) and Purna Nehru and Satish Karri as Board of Trustees.
