Jayalalitha likely to take oath as TN CM on 17

Soon after, the Karnataka High Court declares Jayalalitha as innocent in the disproportionate assets case and dismissed the special court orders today, leaders of her party start arriving to her Poyace Gardens residence to greet her. Her AIADMK party leaders and workers all over the state are grandly celebrating the occasion. Tamilnadu Chief Minister O. Panneer Salwam has offered to quit his CM Post and requested her to take charge of the state. According to latest reports, she is likely to take oath as Chief Minister of the state on May 17th. The ruling AIADMK party is likely to make an official announcement about this anytime.   The Karnataka High Court verdict has left the main opposition party DMK in deep shock as it is dreaming to clinch power from the ruling AIADMK party in the assembly elections scheduled for next year. DMK President Karunanidhi has declared his son Stalin as his successor, thus to put an end to dilemma over about his successor. He hopes that his son Stalin will drive the party to success in the next assembly elections in the absence of Jayalalitha. Hence, Karunanidhi fumes upon the prosecution for dissolving her case in the Karnataka High Court.   Subrahmanya Swamy, who actually initiated this case 18 years ago, is also very much upset with the court verdict. He said that he will challenge the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court and ensure that Jayalalitha is punished. So, it is to be assumed that still a sword is hanging on Jayalalitha’s head.

Shivaji shoots letter to Venkaiah

Actor Shivaji, who catches some limelight with his fast-unto death strike conducted at Guntur few days ago, demanding special status for the AP state seems, is inconclusive about his next step. So, he shoots an open letter to union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu with a questionnaire on his statements, commitments and efforts for special status.   He asked the minister whether he ever puts any efforts to get special status for the state. He asked why he is trying to give lame excuses when the Prime Minister can grant special status to the state within five minutes using his discretional powers. He asked whether the BJP is really keen to develop the state or not. He asked many silly questions like why he is not speaking on behalf of the state?   But, his open letter discloses his ignorance on this issue and the complications involved. If, he believes that the Prime Minister can grant special status to the state within five minutes using his discretional powers, then he would have granted it long ago. Even if the Prime Minister tries to prolong it for any reasons, CM Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders won’t let him to do so. They will certainly pressurize him to announce special status to the state in the very first cabinet meeting itself, like they made him announce merger of seven mandals of Khammam district with the AP state that submerges under Polavaram project. So, Shivaji should study about the conditions and the process involved in granting special status to any state before speaking about it.

RTC Employees to continue strike

Talks between RTC employees’ union leaders and the RTC Managing director Sambhasiva Rao held today at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad were failed. Sambhasiva Rao left the meeting when a heated argument takes place with the union leaders. They strongly condemned his arrogant attitude and warned him that they will make complaint against him to the state government. They said his behavior doesn’t suit his status and need to be changed, if want to continue talks with them. They strongly condemned police lati-charge on the RTC employees in Chittoor. They demand their government lift the police cases filed on the RTC employees during the strike period. They said the strike will continue until all their demands are addressed.   Generally all these developments are quite common in any strike conducted by the RTC employees. Both groups may come to consensus only after all these things happen. State governments and the striking RTC employees both agree that RTC is in heavy loss and its situation is very bad. Even so, they let all these things happen because they want to create some pressure on each other to ensure they have the final word in the talks. But, both groups conveniently ignore the point that it will further worsen the RTC situation.   Later, in a week or two they will certainly strike a pact. But, neither the employees nor the state government will bear the loss occured due to their strike. They will simply transfer the burden on to the people without any guilty feeling and then political parties hits the roads protesting the hike in the fares, not for the people’s sake but to gain some political mileage out of it.

No Confidence on the High Court: Keshav Rao

TRS Secretary General K Keshav Rao has made a controversial statement on the combined High Court of AP and Telangana states. He said that they (TRS?) have lost confidence on the present High Court. Hence, he proposes to shift all cases related to the Telangana State to some other court. He made this controversial statement from Delhi after coming out from a meeting with Union Law Minister Sadananda Gouda.   He and other MPs of the TRS also sets him a deadline of 15 days to divide the combined High Court. Keshav Rao claims that Law Minister positively responds to their demand. He said there is a provision for arranging special court in the section 31 and 32 of the AP Reorganization Bill. Hence, in case if there is any problem or delay in dividing the combined High Court, then the Centre should set up a separate special court for the Telangana state using this provision in the bill, he appealed the Law Minister.    No one may find fault with his demand for bifurcation of the combined High Court. But, obviously even the High Court may consider his remarks made against it very seriously. Often governments and political parties may find very hard to digest the verdicts announced by the courts. In case, if they differ with the court verdict, they challenge it in the higher courts, but never dare to pass such rude remarks against the courts. But, Keshav Rao plainly stated that he won’t trust the High Court, merely because it is taking care of both states. If, the High Court takes it seriously, he may land in unexpected problems for letting his tongue slip.
