Only 30k AP students appearing T-Eamcet

The Telangana government’s decision to conduct separate Eamcet exams is proved to be a curse for the engineering colleges in the state. The state Eamcet convener N V Ramana Rao told the media that only 30, 000 students from the AP state have applied for the Eamcet exams to be conducted by the Telangana government.   Out of them 20, 000 have applied for medical courses where as there are only total 2,950 medical seats in the 15 private medical colleges and five government colleges in the state. Only 10, 000 students from the AP state have applied for the engineering courses when there are thousands of seats need to be filled in the dozens of engineering colleges spread all over the state.   Perhaps, the poor turnout is due to the stalemate continued over conducting common entrance exams, nativity and fees reimbursement issues raked by the Telangana government. According to reports, hundreds of Andhra students settled in the twin cities and also from the AP state have joined the engineering colleges in the neighboring Karnataka state due to these problems and the indecision by the both governments.   Telangana government is to be blamed for this as it insists to conduct separate Eamcet exams, which created confuse in the students and their parents. If it would have planned from the next academic year after making complete arrangements, students of both states, including the Andhra students settled in the twin cities may cling to their respective places.

TDP reacts on smugglers’ encounter

Finally, the ruling TDP leaders of the AP state have managed to overcome the embarrassing situation arises out of the encounter of 20 red sander smugglers.   Party senior leader Gali Muddhu Krishnam Naidu said “I hope the Tamilnadu government will understand the problem that we are facing with the red sander smuggling and smugglers. Around 50, 000 crore worth red sander was smuggled during last few years. Many forest officers were killed by the smugglers. I would like to ask the Congress and the YSR Congress parties why they are making hue and cry now when they remain silent then. They both are criticizing the state government that is trying to protect the precious red sanders. They are criticizing the police and forest department officials instead of appreciating them, who boldly faced the red sander smugglers putting their lives at stake. Opposition parties should realize that the red sander trees need to be preserved for the sake of the state and its people.”   AP Forest Minister Bojjala Gopla Krishna Reddy also strongly reacted to the opposition parties’ criticism on this matter. He said “Opposition parties should know that whoever comes to Seshachalam forests have not come to cut the grass. They come to cut down our precious red sander trees. Hence, it becomes our government’s duty to protect our precious red sander trees from them. We should not be expected to sit and watch while they are cutting our red sander tress. We will not spare anyone whether they are small time smugglers or political leaders. We will nab everyone, including the parties and politicians indulged in this smuggling business. We are making arrangements to transport the bodies of the smugglers to the Tamilnadu state.”

Smugglers' encounter triggers fresh problems for AP

The encounter of 20 red sander smugglers in Seshachalam forests of Chittoor district on Wednesday morning has been strongly criticized by the opposition parties in the state and the political parties in the Tamilnadu state also. The opposition parties in the state are strongly condemning killing of 20 people by the state police.   PCC President Raghuveera Reddy condemned killing of innocent labour. He said that his party will complain to Human Rights Commission.   YSRCP spokesperson Vasireddy Padma flays the AP government for killing innocent labour. She said the state government has made a big mistake that may create tensions with neighboring Tamilnadu state. She said that the brutal encounter by the police makes the state ashamed and made the government accountable for it.   Political parties in the Tamilnadu state including the ruling AIADMK are demanding for a probe by a sitting judge of Supreme Court. They argue that 12 people killed in the encounter are innocent labour who were lured by the red sander smugglers. Hence, the AP government should grant relief to their families and action to be taken against police officials who take part in the encounter, demanded the political parties in the Tamilnadu state.   Tamilnadu Chief Minister Panneer Selwam wrote a letter to the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asking for explanation in this matter. The HRC has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports about the encounter and served notices to the Chief Secretary and the DGP of Andhra Pradesh. They were asked to submit explanation within two weeks about this encounter. The HRC at Hyderabad will take up this case for hearing on April 23rd.

Modi Government is readying Rs.1 lakh crore package for Bihar!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu has been making rounds to Delhi during last 10 months to pursue the Centre release sufficient funds to the cash strapped state. But, it releases funds on the last day of the financial year in the last month. In this context it would interesting to know that the Modi government is readying a Rs.1 lakh crore package for Bihar state, keeping in view of assembly elections scheduled at the end of this year.   According to information, the Modi government is likely to announce 4000 mw ultra-mega power plant for Bihar state very soon. It is planning to expand the Indian Oil Refinery and to restart the fertilizer company at in Barauni that needs huge investment. Construction of high ways and roads to rural areas is also under consideration.   The Centre is also fulfilling the longstanding demand for constructing a railway bridge on river Ganga at Mokamah in Bihar. Apart from these sops, the Modi government is also encouraging the corporate giants in oil, coal, mining and power sectors to set up schools and toilets across the state as a social responsibility. The BJP high command has invited the state party leaders to New Delhi to know their wish list for the state development.    The BJP wants to make its way into Bihar that is under the control of JD (U) government led by Nitish Kumar. He become stronger after Laloo Prasad Yadav has joined hands with him. Hence, the BJP high command seems to be realized that it should start preparations from now itself to face the mighty Nitish and Yadav Co.   If so, naturally people of the AP state may ask when the Centre is getting ready to spend a woofing Rs. 1 lakh crore funds for Bihar state alone to ensure victory in the assembly elections, then why it is hesitating to liberally grant funds to the AP State that voted for it.

YSRCP to conducts bus yatra from 15th

YSR Congress party has announced the schedule for bus yatra to be conducted by its president Jagan Mohan Reddy. He will start his three-day bus yatra from Rajhamundry on April 15th. His party MPS, MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders will also take part in his bus yatra. They will inspect all projects between Polavaram and Pothireddypadu projects and note down their progress. Srikanth Reddy said that several projects launched by late YS Rajashekhar Reddy have been ignored by his successors. He said the intention of bus yatra is to ensure justice to people of all regions in the state. But, people very well know what his intention is.   Actually, he plans conduct this bus yatra on 26th March boycotting the crucial budget sessions. But, he drops the idea after realizing that he is providing another opportunity to the ruling TDP to criticize him and his party. Later, he went to New Delhi and complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley against CM Chandrababu Naidu and the Pattiseema Project launched by his government, but he didn’t get any positive response from them.   He tried to defame the Chief Minister and harm the state interests, but when the Enforcement Directorate followed him to Hyderabad and filed charge sheet against him people laughed at him. Jagan and his party men are starting this bus yatra hoping to convince the people that whatever the state government is doing is wrong and they alone can be trusted.   Earlier, Jagan used to talk about crop loans, but later he drops it after catching the land acquisition issue. He promised the farmers that he will fight for them until they get justice, but he simply shifts to Pattiseema issue. So, no doubt he may shift to another issue later. Hence, one can understand how honest he is with his dharnas and bus yatras.

Will Rahul Gandhi revamp or divide the party?

But, if the seen the way some Congress leaders are reacting on his arrival, he seems to vertically split the party into two instead of strengthening it. Some seniors like Jairam Ramesh, Digvijay Singh, Gulam Nabhi Azad have admitted that there are differences with him over some issues due to generation gap. They even admitted that Rahul Gandhi is also having differences with his mother Sonia Gandhi, but for the same reason-generation gap.   He is returning on April 19th, confirms the Congress party. But, it appears to be very much upset with his arrival and the reports about taking charge of the party soon after his arrival. Party senior leader Sundeep Dikshit said “Actually, the Congress party badly needs Sonia Gandhi’s leadership. She alone can drive the party out from this crisis situation.”   Digvijay Singh said “Actually, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi want to implement democratic systems in the party, but some senior leaders around are not letting her to do so. They don’t want her to make any reforms in the party. They do not let the juniors raise their position in the party. But, Rahul Gandhi wants to provide equal opportunities to them and he wants the party to strictly implement the democratic principles.”   Digvijay Singh and Jairam Ramesh both agreed that Rahul Gandhi has differences with his mother Sonia Gandhi and also with the senior leaders in the party. Several others also have admitted this biter truth, but they all try to lighten the problem by attributing it to generation gap. However, if they keep opposing Rahul Gandhi’s ideology, then he may sack them all. If so, such senior Congress leaders should be prepared to vacate their chairs soon after his return to party
