Manda Krishna turns typical political leader?

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will attend a party meeting to be held at Karimnagar on Tuesday. Hence, it is time for protests for some political parties. This time, the ruling TRS party appears to be preoccupied with some other activities. So, its leaders have not made any noticeable statements against his visit except some criticism by Minister Harish Rao some time ago.   However, MRPS president Manda Krishna is gearing to hold a parallel meeting near the TDP venue protesting Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to the district. But, the police have not given him permission to hold a meeting. So, he spits fire on them and warned them that they should take responsibility in case if any untoward incident happens while protesting Chandrababu Naidu’s visit.   Actually, MRPS is not a political party and so he is not a political leader. When he is representing ST community then the people of his community expect him to fight with the state government to get the benefits from the various welfare schemes launched by the state government. But, he is acting like typical political leader in an attempt to get some media focus. Otherwise, he need not to think about who is visiting the state and how to react to their visits.

I stick to my statement: J & K CM

  The Jammu and Kashmir State Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said he stick to his statement made in his first press meet held yesterday. He reiterates that J&K Assembly elections were held peacefully only because of Pakistan, terrorists and the Kashmiri separatists-Hurriyat leaders courtesy and cooperation. He said there is nothing wrong or objectionable in his statement, because the constitution of India has recognized Pakistan and Hurriyat group.    The BJP is facing strong criticism from the opposition parties in the parliament over CM Mufti Sayeed's odd and rude statement. But, as if adding fuel to the fumes he not only reiterates his statement but also says that he stick to it. Although, both parties have chalked out a common minimum program to ensure a smooth running of the government, CM Mufti Sayeed is crossing his limits by insisting the Center to hold talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat leaders. If seen the way he is troubling his alliance partner BJP from the day one, it appears his government may not run for a long period.    

Balakrishna reaction on budget allocation

  TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna like many others in the party has strongly reacted on the poor allocation of funds to the AP State in the union budget presented by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently.   He asked “The Center has thrown Rs. 100 crores to the state as if we are begging it. How it expects to build the Polavaram Project with that small amount? We have expected that Center will grant special status, special package and enough funds for Polavaram and capital city, considering the miserable situation of the state. But, Center has simply turned a blind eye on the state.”   “It should remember that people will swiftly react if it tries to harm their self-respect. We have been waiting for this budget since last nine months hoping that Center will provide enough funds to the state. We are quite disappointed with the poor budget allocations to the state. Hence, it should reconsider the allocations made to the state and provide sufficient funds to the state as promised in the AP Reorganization Bill. We are not ready to compromise on the promises made to our state,” said Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Thank the terrorists and separatists: J&K CM

  Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who take charge as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir State yesterday has given a big shock to his alliance partner BJP on the very first day. He attributes the credit of conducting the Assembly elections to Pak based terrorists and the Kashmiri separatists.   “I want to say this on record and I have told this to the PM that we must credit the Hurriyat and militant outfits for the (smooth) conduct of elections in the state,” said Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in a joint press conference attended by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.   Elaborating it further he said “People from across the border allowed conducive atmosphere during elections. My humble submission is peaceful elections were not possible, if they had done something. You know how small action was needed to disturb the elections. They allowed this democratic process to go ahead. This gives us hope.”   The former Chief Minister of the state Omar Abdullah has also expressed the same views about holding elections peacefully. He tweets “I guess we should be grateful to their generosity (sic).” He also asked the ruling BJP “Dear @BJP4India Please explain role of security forces & polling staff considering what your CM just said-Pakistan allowed elections in J&K.”   Hence, the former and present Chief Ministers of the state have not concealed their love for Pakistan, its terrorists and Kashmiri separatists. They both thanked the terrorists and separatists for letting the government to conduct the elections.   The BJP that is sharing power with Mufti government may disown his statement and all political parties might have strongly condemned their statements, but will it make them change their attitude anyway? They have taken oath to uphold the self-respect of the country and to safeguard the interests of the country and their state, but they both proved very fond and obsessed for terrorists and separatists. Then how safe is it to keep the state in such leaders’ hands and is it wise to work together with such politicians. Can the BJP justify sharing power with such militant politicians who have no love for their own country but wants to enjoy the power in the country?

Can Uttam Kumar lead the party successfully?

  As reported earlier, Congress high command nominates Uttam Kumar Reddy as the new PCC President and Mallu Batti Vikramarka as the new working president of the party for the Telangana state. Although, it did not give any specific reasons for replacing Ponnala Lakshmaiah, it is not a big secret that it is succumbed to the pressures of its Telangana leaders, who have been demanding for his removal from the day one. However, majority of them are still disgruntled with the fresh appointments also. Now, Ponnala Lakshmaiah also may join the dissident group for unceremoniously pulling down him from his chair.   Comparatively, the Congress party in the Telangana state appears to be stronger and active than its counterpart of the AP State. But, interestingly Congress high command has replaced the T-PCC President but spares the AP PCC President Raghuveera Reddy, who let the party reputation ruin further by fielding the party candidates in the bye-elections.   However, a big challenge is awaiting the new T-PCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy. He has to lead the party to victory in the upcoming GHMC and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation elections. If he could pocket at least one corporation then no one in the party may dare to challenge him at least for few months otherwise it will be the beginning of his down slide.

Rs. 3 hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices

  Even before the people could recover from the budget shock, petroleum companies also have delivered yet another shock to them by sharply increasing the petrol and diesel prices today. Petrol price will be increased by Rs. 3.18 and diesel price by Rs.3.09 per liter. These new rates will come into effect from Saturday mid-night. Hence, the price of petrol and diesel will become Rs. 68 and 56 per liter simultaneously. Earlier, petrol and diesel prices were slightly increased by NPs 82 and 61 per liter simultaneously in the beginning of February month. But, this time the petroleum companies have sharply increased the prices without any hint.

TDP MPs reaction on Budget

  TDP MPs and ministers including the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have openly expressed their disappointment over the insufficient budget allocations to the state. MP Galla Jayadev said he was very much disappointed with the budget. He said we have been explaining about the miserable condition of our state and asking the Center to help it to bail out from its situation. But, it appears our pleas unheard and Center has treated the AP State like any other state that is troubling with deficit budget.   MP Shiva Prasad said “Personally, I am very much disappointed with this budget. It may be appropriate for the whole country but not for the state. We are just waiting for a nod from our CM Chandrababu Naidu to start a fight against the Center.”   CM Chandrababu Naidu said “The state was badly affected with bifurcation. Later, it faced devastating Hudhud cyclone. It was estimated that nearly Rs.61, 000 crores loss occurred to the state. But, the Center has granted only Rs.500 crores for it. We have expected that it may allocate sufficient funds to the state development in its budget presented today, but unfortunately it was not done.”   He said “People have voted to power because they have relied upon us and expected us to deliver the promises made to them in the AP Reorganization Bill. I have explained this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in our every meeting during last nine months. But, unfortunately there were not sufficient allocations made to the state. I will meet them again and explain them how people of the state are reacting on this budget. I hope the Center will consider our appeal for funds.”

How can we fly with chopped wings? asks Chandrababu

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu responding on the budget said “I have visited New Delhi 7-8 times until now and explained the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and all other ministers about the miserable situation of the state and sought their help. They have assured their full support to the state. But, it is not reflected in the budget presented today. It is like asking us to fly with chopped wings.”   “We don’t even have a capital for the state. Then, how can we compete with our neighboring states Telangana, Tamilnadu and Karnataka states that have well developed capital cities like Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore? I have been asking the Center to help us until we reach a level-playing-field with the neighboring states.”   “We have been asking for special status to the state. But the Center was unable to grant it due to many known and untold reasons. However, the special package it granted in lieu with it is also insufficient and of no use.”   “So, we will discuss this matter and will again meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Home Minister Rajnath Singh and try to pursue them to liberally grant funds to the AP State,” said Chandrababu Naidu to media.

T-Government to buy power from Lanco?

  Interesting news pops up in a leading English Daily about Telangana government plans to buy power from Lanco Industries located at Kondapalli. It belongs to the former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who strongly opposed bifurcation of the state. According to report, Telangana government is planning to buy 300 mw power from Lanco Industries with a unit price of Rs.7-8.   Actually, this gas based plant was shut down some two years ago due to shortage in gas supply. But, the Gas Authority of India has come forward to supply gas to the company from its supplies allocated to Gujarat state from Krishna basin. It will compensate the same amount of gas to it from its Off-Shore facility located in Gujarat state. However, Lagadapati said that he is no way related to Lanco now as he quits it before joining politics. He said both states should get benefit out of it without chipping any fresh trouble from this deal. It would be interesting to watch the Telangana government that is averse to purchase additional power from the AP government has no objections to buy from a private company in the AP state.

Earlier, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi stated that he has life threat from terrorists and now his sister Priyanka Gandhi also says similarly. She asks the Himachal Pradesh government not to disclose the details of her assets purchased in the state to Debhasish Bhattacharya, who filed an RTI application for it.   She writes that if revealed she will have life threat. She asked the state government not to disclose any details of her assets including the sale deeds made with private persons or companies or the names of the persons, whom she authorizes with power of attorney letters. Hence, the ruling Congress government in Himachal Pradesh obeying her request (orders) has refused to provide the details to RTI activist.   But, the question is how it will pose a threat to her life anyway, while she is having special protection group security cover round the clock? Is it only a case related to one state or many states in the north parts of India, because her husband Robert Wadra is allegedly involved in many real estate scams in the Haryana, Rajasthan, Noida and many other places. It is time to find out how much properties were accumulated by Sonia Gandhi and her family members during their 10 years of corrupt ruling.

BJP-PDP to form government in J&K

  At last, the BJP and PDP are able to strike a deal over forming alliance government in the Jammu and Kashmir State. BJP president Amit Shah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti made a joint press statement confirming alliance between the two parties. The agreement made between two parties will be made public after holding a final meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mehbooba Mufti. However, both parties have formally agreed to form an alliance government in the state.   Mehbooba Mufti may take oath as Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh as Deputy Chief Minister of the state on 1st March. Six ministers from each party are also likely to take oath along with them. According to available information, both parties have agreed to maintain status-co on all the issues- holding talks with Kashmiri separatists, Pakistan, withdrawing special powers to the armed forces in the Kashmir valley and Article 370 etc. on which they are differing with each other. BJP ministers may limit themselves to the Jammu area while PDP ministers may confine themselves to Kashmir valley to prevent any friction between two parties.

Rahul’s timing is not correct: Digvijay Singh

  There are huge chain reactions observed on Rahul Gandhi taking leave of absence for two weeks for soul searching. Majority of those reacted on his leave believes it is funny or an attempt to escape from the crucial budget sessions of the parliament.   But, political analysts predict something smelling fishy in this drama. They guess that he distances from the party as he might have some difference of opinion with his mother and some senior leaders of the party after the miserable defeat of the party in the Delhi Assembly elections. Hence, his mother and the party leaders have come up with this silly reason.   They are also seeing this drama in a quite different angle also. They opine he might scare to face criticism from the party leaders for the party’s defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections and so escaped. So, his mother and party leaders are trying to distract the party’s attention from the Delhi defeat.   However, many people opine that it makes no difference whether he is in the house or not. AICC General Secretary and his political mentor Digvijay Singh also stated that the timing of his leave is not correct. It is nice to hear that he start thinking about the party future even it is too late to do anything.   But, the question is can he find some miracle solution during this meditation period? Can he transform himself into a most capable political leader in par with Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Can he take bold decisions like shunting out the old horses from the party to replace with youngsters? Can he convince his own party leaders that he can steer the party to victory from now onwards? Can he convince the people of the country that he can eliminate all the corrupt leaders from the party? Answers for all these questions may be negative. He proved it earlier in many instances and may prove it again.   However, he will become a political buffoon, when he fails to perform any miracles after returning to party after his leave period. Actually, if his mother Sonia Gandhi has told some other nice reason for his absence, she would have saved him from this embarrassment, but she also did a mistake by announcing the actual reason.

Rs.22, 113crores will be given to AP: FM Jaitley

  Finance Minister Arun Jaitley declared that his government has approved the recommendations made by the 14th Finance Commission to increase the states share from present 32 percent to 42 per cent in the union government’s tax income. He said it was never seen before such a massive share increase to the states from the union government’s income.   He said the Finance Commission has identified 11 deficit-budget-states in the country including the Andhra Pradesh state. He suggested that all the states should develop their own revenue sources and should become self-sufficient in the coming years. He reiterates that his government will extend its full support to the AP State.   He said the Finance Commission has recommends the Centre to provide Rs.22, 113 crores during next five years period and the Centre has agreed for it. Rs. 6609 crores will be given to the AP State during 2015-16 financial years, Rs.4930 crores, 3644 crores, 2499 crores will be given in the subsequent financial years, declared the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today. So, the AP state will get Rs. 6609 crores for the current financial year.

Rs.1600 crores granted for construction of AP capital city

  The AP municipal administration minister P Narayana has told the media that the Centre has granted Rs.1600 crores as first installment for construction of capital city at Thullur. He said out of this amount union urban development ministry has granted Rs.1000 crores and rest by the finance ministry. He said this amount will be released in a week or two.   Actually, state government has asked the Centre to release Rs.20, 000 crore in the first installment for constructing Assembly, Council, Secretariat, CM’s Camp Office, Raj Bhavan, Ministers’ and Officials’ quarters and offices in the core capital. But, Urban Minister Venkaiah Naidu assured that sufficient funds will be released once the state government submits its master plan to the Centre. Master plan is expected to deliver in May or June months, but in the meantime a draft copy of it is likely to submit by the Centre for Livable Cities (CLC), Singapore in the first week of March.   So, the state government may seek for more funds based on that draft plan. Centre has assured the state government that it will provide sufficient funds for constructing the core capital city. Hence, the state government has to9 generate funds for developing the surrounds of the core capital city.

Should protect the farmers' interests: Pawan Kalyan

  Pawan Kalyan’s tweeter message reminding the NDA government about implementing its promises has exploded like a bomb in the media. He posted three more tweet messages on Monday late night. This time he sounds alarm for the AP Government.   He writes “People have elected TDP and BJP hoping that they will enhance their living standards. So, they need to meet their expectations. State government should ensure that no farmer shed tears with frustration during the process of land acquisition for capital city. It has to safeguard the interests of the farmers and ensure no damage to crops and agriculture in the ear marked area, otherwise it may face their anguish.”   In fact, opposition parties in the state have grabbed this issue and kick starts a fight with the government longtime ago. It reaches climax stage with the YSR Congress party MLAs visit to Thullur yesterday. Whatever their intentions may be, it is giving them enough political mileage to them and at the same time it is also sending a wrong message about land acquisition process. But, interestingly TDP leaders of the district fail to react to their visit until now.   Being a well-wisher, Pawan Kalyan sounds timely alarm for the ruling TDP government. So, it is up to it how it receives it. The Congress party has been talking about special status to the state for quite a long time, but people of the state have simply ignored them and their fight for it. There is overwhelming response to Pawan Kalyan’s previous messages. Need not to say his latest messages are also gets similar response from the people. Hence, the ruling TDP government should try to clarify the doubts expressed by him and thus deliver a right message to the people on this issue before it harms it.

Congress too to follow TDP idea for it

  The youth icon of TDP Nara Lokesh has come up with the idea of creating welfare fund for his party workers and insurance coverage to his party active members. His insurance coverage-idea gets an overwhelming response from the people of the AP and the Telangana states. Because of it, the TDP was able to cross a record 50 lakh mark in enrolling new members just in a matter of 49 days. Inspired with its success, TRS also implements the same idea and it also creates a new record of enrolling 50 lakh new members in the state.   Now, the Telangana Congress president Ponnala Lakshmaiah also nods for it. The Congress party also agreed to provide Rs.2 lakh insurance coverage to the active members. Hence, Ponnala expects that it will help to boost the membership enrolment of his party. If, the Congress party can adopt this idea, then the BJP also may adopt it sooner or later.   But, the Congress party in the AP state has not given any such hint until now, which is actually badly needs such ideas to revive the party strength. BJP leader Purandeswari has criticized the TDP for implementing such ideas to attract the new members. But, if all other parties in both states begin following TDP foot prints, then the BJP also may not resist it for a long time.

Is fresh trouble brewing for the ruling TRS government?

  While the dust is gradually settling down of former deputy Chief Minister of Telangana state Dr. Rajaiah’s expulsion from the KCR Cabinet for his alleged involvement in corruption in buying the ambulance vehicles, a fresh trouble appears to be brewing for the TRS government. This time it is because of its minister Jagadish Reddy.   A bitter fight between him and the former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar triggered over his alleged involvement in corrupt practices. Ponnam alleges that the minister Jagadish Reddy has collected 5 per cent commission from the fees reimbursed to the students by his government. Jagadish Reddy, who strongly condemns his allegations, threatens to sue Ponnam for making such false and baseless allegations.   Their fight has reached a climax stage, when Ponnam Prabhakar has reiterated his allegations and said that he can prove them if the state government orders an inquiry into this corruption case. He challenged the minister and the state government to face him if they can. He asks “Why CM KCR is sparing Minister Jagadish Reddy, when he made no delay to expel his deputy Rajaiah from his cabinet for the same reasons. I stick to my allegations and it is the minister and the Telangana government has to prove their innocence. I welcome Jagadish Reddy’s idea to go to the court against me. I can prove he is corrupted and guilty.”   So, the minister appears to be reached a point of no-return in this case. If he turned silent at this moment, it is like admitting Ponnam’s allegations levied against him. If sues Ponnam then also he is ready to prove him guilty. Either way, he seems to be fixed.   CM KCR is also may find himself in the similar situation with this development. If, he expels Jagadish Reddy also from his cabinet, it will send a wrong message to the people that his cabinet colleagues are indulged in corrupt practices. If he allows him to continue in the cabinet, then also it will send the same wrong message to the people. So, it seems a fresh trouble is awaiting CM KCR with him. Let us wait and see how he will handle this matter and overcome this problem.
