Karnataka Home Minister stirs fresh controversy

Karnataka Ministers are quite often catching the media focus for wrong reasons these days. Just a month ago, Karnataka home minister KJ George lost his minister post for making derogatory remarks in a gang rape case.   A 22 year old women working in a BPO company, when raped in a tempo traveller by two persons, reacting on the incident he asked “How is it a gang rape if two people rape? Shouldn’t there be at least three or four people for it to be called gang rape?” He lost his minister post immediately for his rude response and G. Parameshwara takes charge from him as the state new home minister.   He also let his tongue slip in a similar incident. A 30 year old woman went to Tennis Club near famous Cubbon Park in Bengaluru on Wednesday around 9.30 pm seeking membership in it. The club management asked her to come on the next day. While she was returning home, two security guards working in the same club approached her offering help to get membership. They took her to an isolated area and raped her.   Home Minister G Parameshwara reacting on this incident asks “Why should a woman go to play tennis at 9.30 in the night?” In other words, he is stating that women shouldn’t go out in the night time and if goes they may face such bitter experiences. Instead of finding fault with the security guards, who committed this crime, the minister is finding fault with the victim.   Obviously, his question rages the women folk and they are making protests for his statement. Probably, he also may lose his minister post, if fails to cool down the women folk admitting his mistake and apologizing to them.

Congress leader’s timely help to rival TRS party!

Sometimes, senior most leaders of political parties knowingly or unknowingly create troubles for their parties with their controversial statements. Sometimes political parties escape with minor damage and sometime pay very dearly for it. We have seen how the BJP was troubled with its senior leaders Lal Krishna Advani, Yashwanth Sinha, MM Joshi and Shantha Kumar’s statement. Now comes the turn of Congress party in Telangana state. It’s senior leader and former minister M Satyanarayana Rao, who was seen after a very long time invites fresh problems for his party with his statement, when his party is badly struggling to overcome the hiccups in the Warangal by elections.   He is all praise to the TRS government and to its Chief Minister KCR. He appreciated the TRS government for taking up projects like ‘Grama Jyothy’ and ‘Mission Kakateeya’ etc. He also appreciated CM KCR’s efforts for resolving the power crisis in the state and his power policy for it. He suggested KCR to take opposition parties also into consideration in his development works of the state. He opined that opposition parties criticizing the TRS government only because they have to criticize it. He suggested them to give constructive suggestions instead of merely criticizing the government on each and every issue.   He said people of Warangal very well know whom to vote. He opined that Bihar pattern results may be repeated in the by elections also. Satyanarayana Rao said Rahul Gandhi should wait for some more time to claim AICC President Post as he still need to be polished in the politics.   His statement and its timing is really very much helpful to the ruling TRS party just ahead of the by elections. TRS leaders can quote his statement in their elections campaigning. It is like a conduct certificate issued in very right time by the rival party. His opinion of repeating Bihar pattern results is hinting that ruling TRS party will win the elections, which is very hard to digest for Congress leaders. However, they can’t plainly condemn his statement nor can they welcome it. His opinion about Rahul Gandhi is also very embarrassing for the Congress party.

Why, Jagan is silent on Mysoora plans?

Entire media of the AP state except Jagan owned Sakshi media has reported that YSR Congress party’s senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy will be leaving the party on November 20th and launching Rayalaseema Pratyeka Rashtra Sadhana Samithi on the next day, for starting separate Rayalaseema state agitations.   However, YSR Congress party President Jagan Mohan Reddy or any other leaders of the party not responded on these reports until now, which looks very peculiar. Especially, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s silence on party’s top leader’s resignation and his plans for Rayalaseema separate state agitations is sending a wrong message to the people. It makes the people believe that he is encouraging Mysoora Reddy to kick start separate state agitations for troubling his darling enemy Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.   If he lets his leader Mysoora Reddy to start separate state agitations, then he may also let other leaders of his party to support him after seeing the response of the people to his agitations. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is known for taking hasty decisions, may found this idea after his fight for special status ends up without any result. Currently, the state is reeling under severe problems after bifurcation of the state. If, separate state agitations gain momentum, it will lead to unrest and multiply the problems of the state. Hence, Jagan Mohan Reddy should come out and spell his stand on his party leader Mysoora Reddy’s plans for separate state agitations otherwise people have to suspect his hand in this destructive idea.

Did Jagan Mohan Reddy disappoints Congress party?

AP PCC President Raghuveera Reddy quite unusually criticized the main opposition leader of the AP state Jagan Mohan Reddy today, with whom his party wants to patch up.   “Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be shelved his agitations for special status fearing his CBI cases. Perhaps, that is why he is not speaking against the Modi Government New Delhi targeting TDP Government only. People of the state are closely watching his every move. They understand why he stepped back on special status. If we were in his place, we can chase the state and central governments both like anything with our agitations for special status. But, Jagan is not justifying his role as the main opposition leader of the state,” said Raghuveera Reddy.   Actually, Congress party tries to win peoples’ hearts with its agitations for special status, but when failed it pinned all its hopes on Jagan Mohan Reddy. Congress party state political affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh and PCC President Raghuveera Reddy both assured him of their party support for his agitations, hoping that he will agree for a patch up with them. But, that idea also not worked for them, because of the reasons stated by Raghuveera Reddy now. So, it is quite natural to see him burst upon Jagan Mohan Reddy for disappointing them.   Now, the Congress and YSR Congress parties both have to find some strong issue for continuing their fights. Jagan Mohan Reddy has already appears to be jumped for Bauxite mining issue in Visakha Agency. But, he may be disappointed, if Chandrababu Naidu withdraws his government’s orders issued recently for it considering the appeal by Janasena party president Pawan Kalyan, who generally pops up when Jagan Mohan Reddy prepares to fight on any issue.

No outcome from Pawan’s meeting with Chandrababu

Pawan Kalyan appears to be lost his enthusiasm during the course of 15 months’ time. His latest press meet held after his meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office in Vijayawada is a fine testimony for it. This time also, his meeting with Chandrababu Naidu creates enough hype in the state.   Especially, some farmers, who are still not willing to handover their lands to government for capital city construction, expected that he will convince the Chief Minister not to use Land Acquisition Act against them. But, instead of convincing the Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan appears to be convinced by him.   Similarly, people expected that he may convince the Chief Minister to revoke his government’s decision for allowing mining of Bauxite in Visakha Agency area, but Pawan Kalyan has been convinced by the Chief Minister in this case also. He simply reiterates what Chief Minister told him during their meeting about late YS Rajashekhar Reddy government issuing orders for Bauxite mining.   Pawan Kalyan couldn’t make any significant statement regarding special status for the state. He said that he will wait until Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks about it and then only react. He also said that he can’t set any time limit for him in this matter. However, he said if the Centre fails to fulfill its promises made to the state, BJP has to pay for it very dearly in the next elections.   He said that he is not in a financially sound position to operate his Janasena party now, so he made it clear that his party won’t contest in any elections till 2019. Overall, noting has been achieved in his meeting with cm Chandrababu Naidu. In fact, his present meeting provides enough ammo for his rivals to criticize him.

Congress hand behind Tipu Sultan?

Karnataka Government’s decision to conduct Tipu Sultan’s Jayanti celebrations leads to tensions in the peaceful state. Some Hindu radical groups hit the roads strongly opposing the state government’s decision. They argue that Tipu is a traitor and not any patriotic hero of the nation. Their protests lead to arson and quite naturally it brings in police into the scene. One person was killed and several injured in a clash between police and raged mobs in Mysuru on Wednesday. This development leads to further escalation of tensions and if ignored, they may lead to communal clashes finally.   These unfortunate incidents are taking place because of the hasty decision taken by the state government and over enthusiasm shown by some Hindu radical groups. Karnataka Government lead by Chief Minister Siddha Ramaiah takes this decision keeping in view of upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections in the state. It plans to attract minority voters with this idea and it proves very costly for the state.   Tipu Sultan’s Jayanti celebrations would have gone unnoticed if the Hindu radical groups do not make all this mess. But they couldn’t stop themselves from doing all these odd things. Finally, entire blame has been transferred onto the Modi Government which is not related with it anyway, merely because of the over action by Hindu radicals of the state.   These developments helps the Congress and its allies’ to strengthen the negative publicity carried out by them about growing religious intolerance and restrictions on freedom of expression in the country after Modi comes into power in the Centre. Siddha Ramaiah government may have its own reasons for taking this decision, but if seen in wider angel, it appears Congress high command is strategically made this move to trap its darling enemy Narendra Modi.

Lalu Prasad plays his first trick on Nitish?

The swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar is likely to be held on November 20th. Before that, he has to do lot of calculations for forming his cabinet. Nitish, Lalu and Congress party are reported to be formally agreed to share minister posts in 4:4:2 ratios. But, it is very difficult to come to consensus on which party should get which portfolio. As per the agreement made between them, deputy chief minister post will go to Lalu’s RJD party.   Obviously, everyone is predicting that either Tej Prathap Yadav or Tejaswi Yadav of Lalu two sons will get it. But, Lalu seems start playing his usual tricks on Nitish Kumar from the day one. He is reportedly bringing in his daughter Misa Bharti for deputy chief minister post instead of one of his sons. She did not contested in the recent elections and nor she is a member of Legislative council, yet he wants to rope her into Nitish cabinet as his deputy.   With this idea, Lalu Prasad plans to secure three minister posts for his family instead of two. Even, if his family gets only two minister posts, then also three of his family members will be in the power, two members as ministers and one as an MLA. It will provide more firm hold on Nitish Kumar's government for lalu Prasad Yadav, , who wants to sit in the back seat and drive Nitish Kumar government.   Lalu Prasad’s P.A. Bhola Yadav has been elected as MLA in the recent elections. He vacated his MLC seat before facing the elections and Lalu Prasad wants to put his daughter in his seat to make her eligible for holding deputy chief minister post.   Nitish may not raise any objection for offering deputy CM post to Misa Bharti or Lalu’s son, but can he digest Lalu’s idea for grabbing three minister posts for his family instead of two? May be this is the beginning for such bitter experiences with Lalu. However, they have a very long way to go.

Babu wakes up to opposition threats for separate state

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu seems to be alerted with the media reports about launching of separate Rayalaseema state agitations by some Congress and YSR Congress parties’ leaders soon. He visited Cuddapah and Kurnool districts on Monday and inaugurates some development works in both districts. He laid foundation stone for Urdu University in Orvakallu in Kurnool district, which is named after Abdul Haq, who strived hard for Muslims welfare. This university will be built in 125 acres of land. Chief Minister declared that he is releasing Rs.20 crore as first installment for its construction.   Chandrababu Naidu showered sops on Kurnool district. He promised to develop educational hub in Kurnool along with Visakhapatnam and Amaravati for which 900 acres of land will be allotted. He said a study circle for Muslims will be arranged in Kurnool like the study circles arranged for SC, ST and BCs. He promised to conduct Urdu DSC for Muslims from next year. Chief Minister announces Rs. 5, 000 honorarium for Imams and Rs. 3,000 for Mouzums from the current month.   He said Mining Institute will be set up at Dhone in the district. Besides these he said, Nandyal will be developed as seed capital of the state and tourism circuit will be developed in the district. Kurnool Government Hospital will be upgraded to Super Specialty Hospital very soon. He said many industries will be coming up in the district with an estimated investment of Rs.40,000 crore, which may provide employment for nearly 30, 000 people in the district. Hence an airport will be constricted in Kurnool and the city will be connected with Amaravati with 6 and 8 lanes roads. Later, he visited Gorukallu project in the district and ordered the contractors to complete the pending works before June 2016 for storing 12.5 TMCs water. He granted Rs. 30 crore for these works.   CM Chandrababu Naidu said that some opposition leaders who do not have job or do not want to develop Rayalaseema are trying to stop his government by provoking people of the region. He warned them not create hurdles in his development works or else he will not spare anyone.

YSRCP MLA wants to resign and contest again

YSR Congress party’s Paderu MLA G. Eeshwari threatens to resign to her MLA post if the state government doesn’t revoke its decision for allowing mining of Bauxite in the Visakha agency area. Eeshwari, accompanied by the district president Amaranth and some local leaders of the party has visited the location today, where Bauxite mining will be carried out very soon.   She said “I warn the state government not to go ahead with its Bauxite mining plans otherwise I will resign to my MLA post during upcoming Assembly sessions and contest from the same constituency to prove that people are opposing government’s decision. I challenge the ruling TDP to face me with Bauxite as agenda in the by elections. If TDP candidate is defeated in my hands then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should quit his post vowing moral responsibility for the defeat.”   Her demand to revoke the decision on Bauxite mining can be justified because the tribal living there is also strongly opposing it. But, her idea to resign and again contest from the same constituency in the by elections is nothing but making mockery of democratic system. She can resign if wants in protest against the government’s decision, but can’t misuse that option merely to showcase her party’s strength to the ruling TDP government.   Perhaps, she is also walking in the footsteps of her party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, who few days ago said to be planned to ask all his party MLAs to resign demanding special status for the state. Generally opposition parties keep insisting the Chief Minister for resignation for one reason or the other. YSRCP MLA Eeshwari also trying the same idea to get attention of her party president Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Police confirms Sarika commits suicide!

Warangal police submitted their remand report to the court on Saturday. According to it, Sarika and her children’s death was suicide and not any murder. However, they made it clear that Rajaiah and her family members often insisted her to commit suicide. In the remand report, they mentioned Sarika’s husband Anil as A1 accused, former Congress MP Rajaiah as A2, his wife Madhavi as A3 and the Anil’s second wife Sana as A4 in this case. However, police mentioned that Sana was absconding from them.   The details of remand report submitted to the court as follows:   Information collected from 24 persons, including house maids and drivers working in Rajaiah’s house and also neighbors. Troubles brewed for Sarika after Anil’s second marriage with Sana. Rajaiah, his wife and their son Anil were used to harass Sarika. Her police complaints against them are evidences for their harassment. Rajaiah family members intensified their harassment every time after she goes to police. They all insisted her to commit suicide. They virtually isolated her and her children.   Sarika commits suicide along with her kids fearing she and her children will be tortured if Rajaiah wins the Warangal by elections. She commits suicide around 4-4.30 am. The reason for their death is fire and smoke. Rajaiah’s neighbors informed the firefighting and 108 ambulance services after seeing smoke coming from Sarika’s bed room. Two gas cylinders were found in her bed room. One is full and other is empty.   Rajaiah and his wife files bail petition soon after police submits their remand notice to court on Saturday. In their bail petition, they have stated that they are not staying in that house where this tragic accident took place. They came there just one day before the incident keeping in view of bye elections. They both claim that they are innocent and not related to their daughter-in-law and her children’s deaths. Court adjourned their bail petition to November 12th.
