Centre allows TS Vehicle in the Republic Day Parade

The Centre has allowed the iconic vehicle of the AP state in the Republic Day parade that showcases the development of the state. But, it allows the vehicle of the Telangana state only after the TRS MP and the floor leader of the party in Loksabha Jitender Reddy runs from pillar to post for convincing the central ministers. It is probably because the TRS attitude to confront with the Central government on one issue or the other.   First, Jitender Reddy approached the Defence Minister Manohar Parikar with the appeal. But, he turned down his request. Then, he approaches the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and convinced him to allow the state vehicle in the parade. Then Jaitley phoned the Defence Minister and asked him to consider his request. Then only the Defence Minister Parekar has agreed to allow the Telangana state vehicle in the parade.   Generally, the Centre approves the proposals made by the state governments in this regard, but Telangana government has to take pains of convincing the ministers to allow its vehicle in the parade, only because of its confrontation with the Centre on various issues. If seen it objecting the Centre’s decision of amending the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 to increase the number of MLCs of AP state, one can understand why the Centre is annoyed with it.   However, the Centre is still ready to extend its co-operation to Telangana government. It agreed to the Chief Minister KCR’s proposal of changing the AP Express name as Telangana Express. So, Telangana government should avert confrontation, instead of try to improve its relations with the Centre, if it is expecting any support from the Centre.

BJP plans for emerging as alternate political party in AP

BJP is showcasing an unmatched performance in the every subsequent election held after coming into power at the Centre. It virtually cuts down the grand old Congress party into a regional party level with its latest victory in the Jharkhand state. Hence, BJP may try its hands with the Congress party in the AP and Telangana states next. Earlier, the Seemandhra Congress leaders are used to run the Congress show, but many of them were virtually disappeared post bifurcation. Whoever left in the party are desperately looking for a political asylum. So, BJP taking advantage of this situation may try to attract as many as Congress leaders into the party in the coming days.   If BJP could manage to attract a handful of desperate senior Congress leaders into the party, then they may bring many more into the party, the way those Congress leaders who joined the BJP earlier ropes them into the party. So, once The Congress party is vacated completely, then BJP may focus on the YSR Congress party next.   It is necessary to eliminate the YSR party from its way, if it is really serious to emerge as the alternative political power in the state. As long as Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party is around, BJP can’t create its own space in the state because the people in the state are divided between the ruling TDP and the YSR Congress parties mainly. But, BJP may not immediately take any hasty decisions like the UPA government did to make Jagan to surrender to it. During the course of next four and half years it may gradually close-in on him and his party. The Congress and YSR Congress leaders, who join the BJP, may be assigned to the task of diluting their mother parties. Perhaps, this is the best way for the BJP to emerge as alternative political source in the state.

7500 MW Power Plant to be set up at Nalgonda

Telangana Chief Minister KCR has conducted an aerial survey on Tuesday over Veerlapalem and Matampalli villages of Damaracharla mandal in Nalgonda district, where he wants to set-up a thermal power plant with 7500 mw capacity. Later, he held a meeting with the ministers Jagadish Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, district collector Smitha Sabarwal, Genco CMD Prabhakar rao and local MLAs and MLCs and discussed about the project. He asked the district Collector to complete the land survey within next ten days in these two villages and submit the report to him for further action.   CM KCR plans to set-up the power plant in phases within next two or three years. Since, this place is close to the capital Hyderabad, they expect the project will help to spread the development to the neighboring districts also. It is estimated that around 50, 000 people may get direct and indirect employment through this mega power project.   However, CM KCR has not revealed who is going to take up this project and who is going to fund it as there is no mention about NTPC in his proposal that generally constructs thermal power plants across the country. If, the state government itself plans to build the power plant it need huge funds for it, which is very difficult to accumulate in the prevailing situation. There is no official word from the Centre about this project. So, KCR might be planning to build this project under government-private partnership.

Can Talasani Yadav divert the votes to TRS account?

TRS Chief KCR has attracted TDP MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav into TRS by offering him a minister post in his cabinet hoping that he will simply divert the voters in the Hyderabad city towards TRS party in the upcoming GHMC elections.   But, can he convince the Andhra people settled in the city to vote for TRS? Can he convince the Muslim people to vote for TRS instead of MIM party? Can he convince the people of other states, who settled in the city to vote for TRS party? The answer may be a big ‘No’ for all these questions.   The Andhra people settled in the city have been voting him because he was in the TDP that they believe as their home party. They may divide between the TDP and the YSR Congress parties, but certainly not favors the TRS, merely because Talasani has joined it.   Need not to say the large section of Muslim community in the city would like to go along with the MIM than the TRS party. Obviously, it will make the Hindu community to prefer BJP or its alliance partner TDP but not TRS party. The Hindus in the city may rather prefer to vote for BJP than for TRS as it is kneeling down before the MIM party.   The Christian community in the city may divide between the Congress and the YSR Congress parties rather than aligning with TRS party. The reason is its aggressiveness. So, though CM KCR has laid foundation stone to the Christian Bhavan today at Hyderabad, he can’t expect to pocket all their votes to his party alone.   All the outsiders settled in the city also may not prefer to vote for TRS as they are scared with its aggressiveness. It reminds them about a Shivsena party of Maharashtra or some other party that doesn’t wants to see the outsiders around. So, Talasani’s entry into TRS may not much helpful to it but of course he is very much fortunate to become a minister post for nothing. If he couldn't make way for TRS into GHMC office after the elections, probably he may get appropriate treatement from CM KCR for his failure.

Rayapudi farmers to knock the court doors?

AP state Assembly has passed the CRDA bill just yesterday itself. However, the farmers of Rayapudi and few other villages of Thullur Mandal, who are not willing to depart from their lands, have approached Prashanth Bhushan, a noted advocate in New Delhi and to fight on behalf of them against the state government in the state High Court or in the Supreme Court, wherever necessary. He agreed to take up their case.   Rayapudi farmers' leader Mallela Harindranath Chowdary told the media that they are also consulting other lawyers in the city to represent their case in the courts. He argues that there is lack of clarity in the land pooling system announced by the state government. However, no one from the state government has taken initiative clear our doubts. So we have decided to go to court to safeguard our interests. He said they also have approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for the same purpose. He said that they will start legal battle against the state government once the CRDA bill is cleared by the state Assembly.   Since, it was cleared by the Assembly yesterday the farmers of Rayapudi village may knock the court doors anytime from now onwards. Obviously, the YSR Congress party may thrust them to go ahead with their plans so as it can take revenge on its darling enemy TDP and its president Chandrababu Naidu. So, the TDP should move very cautiously in the land acquisition process otherwise it will be inviting fresh troubles.

Mysoora likely to return to TDP soon?

According to latest information, the senior most leaders in the YSRCP MV Mysoora Reddy is likely to return to TDP very soon. If reports are to be believed he met CM Chandrababu Naidu few days ago and expressed his interest to return to party. He feels being ignored by the party high command after his defeat from his home constituency in the recent general elections.   The other reason for loosing interest in the party is that during the recent days Jagan Mohan Reddy brings forward his auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy into second place in the party, which until now is believed to be occupied by Mysoora Reddy. It is learnt that neither Jagan nor any seniors of the party are consulting him for any party programs. So, annoyed with this ill treatment and he is planning to leave the party and join TDP any time.   Actually, once he was known to be a very close aide of Chandrababu Naidu and they both were used to chalk out the party strategies. But, he left TDP and joins YSR Congress party hoping a bright future in it. However, this news is to be confirmed yet by him or TDP.   YCP MLC Boddu Bhaskar rao is also leaving the party and returning to TDP very soon. This four-time-MLA of TDP left the party during the general elections period after the party has turned down his request to allot Loksabha ticket to his son to contest from Rajhamundry. Although, his son secured Loksabha ticket from YSRCP, he couldn’t win the elections. The father and son are also reported to be facing similar treatment that Mysoora Reddy is facing now in the YSRCP. So, Boddu Bhaskar rao met CM Chandrababu Naidu and convinced him to allow him to join TDP again. He may join the party officially very soon.

Warangal and Amaravati given Heritage tags

The Government of India has selected total 10 ancient cities across the country and accord them ‘heritage cities’ status. Out of the ten cities, Amaravati in the AP state and Warangal in Telangana state got the heritage tags. The intention is to link-up these ten heritage centers and thus increasing the tourist traffic from within and foreign countries. Centre will grant Rs. 30 crore to Warangal and Rs.20 crore to Amaravati cities for their overall development. The district authorities have to send necessary proposals to the Centre for the all-round development of these places.   The central package includes assistance in repairing of the heritage centers, historical monuments, temples, forts etc. and providing necessary infrastructure to attract the tourists. This package also includes installing CCTV cameras and Wi-Fi provision in the places of importance. Besides, this scheme is also intended to enhance the livelihood avenues among the shareholders and improving the quality of life of the locals.   As everyone knows Amaravati is a small village developed on the banks of Krishna River, which is known as a major Buddhist center in the country. Once it had hosted Ikshwakuls, Pallavas, Eastern Chalukyas, Telugu Chalukyas, Kakatiyas and Satavahana regimes. It may further develop because of its proximity with the proposed capital city of the AP state.   Warangal has a very rich heritage. The Kakatiya kings who ruled this place have created marvelous fort, monuments, temples that remain a benchmark for architectural and cultural importance places in the country. The marvelous structures like Warangal Fort, 1000 pillar temple, Ramappa Temple and many small and big temples found in the city are showcasing their rich culture.

Is BJP wooing Jagan Mohan Reddy?

BJP leaders Vishnu Kumar Raju and Kavuri Sambhasiva rao have created an unnecessary suspicion about having a tie-up between BJP and YSR Congress party in near future. While, Raju talked to Jagan Mohan Reddy in his chamber yesterday, Kavuri said YSR Congress party will be dissolved before next general elections. He further said that only TDP and BJP will remain in the fray in the next elections. If seen together their move and statement, BJP appears to be insisting Jagan Mohan Reddy to dissolve his YSR Congress party and join hands with it. Perhaps, it may be too early to think any such things, but BJP leaders’ acts and statements are hinting the same.   Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who has a good rapport and relations with the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has made a statement about BJP-TDP relationship during his recent visit to Hyderabad. He said that though we have some difference of opinion on various issues, we are continuing our alliance because of the friendship we have between our two parties. In other words he might be saying that the rapport between two parties is not that good as expected to be.   However, if BJP is really serious about emerging as a super power in the state, first it should concentrate on strengthen itself in the state rather than trying such ideas and making such statements. First of all, the way TDP is restraining from speaking against the BJP or NDA government, BJP high command also should ensure its leaders in the state restrain from making such comments to keep its relations with TDP intact till the next elections. Otherwise, it would be sending wrong message to TDP and strain their relations.
