  • Microsoft says Chrome bad for your Laptop

      Google's Chrome browser is the most commonly used browser by people. Now Microsoft has come up with the claim saying that Chrome is not good for your laptop battery. According to their recently conducted tests Chrome drains your battery. While a test was conducted by streaming HD video, battery of laptop using Chrome browser lasted just four hours and 19 minutes on the streaming video test, compared to seven hours and 22 minutes for Microsoft's Edge browser.

    TCS employee drowns in US

      In yet another shocking incident a Telugu youth, working on site for TCS, has died due to drowning in the US. Namboori Sridatta, 25, who was working in Arizona, drowned while he was with his friends at a waterfall. He hailed from Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad. He had gone to US five years back and on completion of his education got placed in TCS. He was scheduled to come home next month. The family said they have last met him in the year 2012.

    Student from AP dies in US during picnic

      P Naresh, 24, a student in California,US, who went out on a picnic to Livermore River Park, was with his friends on a boat when he slipped and fell into the water. He hails from a poor family in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Naresh has recently informed his farmer that he will be working part time soon, to send his father some money. He was in his second year of MS. The family has requested the government to help them get their son's body back to India.

    PM clicks ISRO launch pics for Instagram!

      Prime Minister Modi along with everyone in India proudly witnessed the launch of 20 satellites by ISRO this morning. It was a record made by ISRO yet again and PM Modi took to his instagram page to convey his joy to the people of the country. This is what he posted.   ''A picture of joy! This is a photo I took, while seeing on TV the success of ISRO in launching 20 satellites in a go. Today is a proud day for India and we congratulate our scientists on this monumental accomplishment. We are proud of how our space programme has transformed people's lives and also helped other nations in their space programmes. I was delighted that children from institutions in Pune and Chennai played a role in making of the satellites. More power to our scientists and youngsters.#TransformingIndia''

    Vadra's company gets ED notice in land deal

      Skylight Hospitality Ltd, a company owned by Robert Vadra, has received notices from Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money laundering probe in the Bikaner land scam case. The case has been filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The company has been given time till June 24th to reply, by the ED. Earlier last month, ED had conducted searches at multiple locations in Rajasthan in connection with a case of land grab. According to reports 1400 acres of land was acquired and sold illegally.

    After US,UK, now Canada supports India on NSG

      With China not officially confirming its support to India's NSG entry, there seems to be a lot of uncertainty. But after US,UK announcing their strong support to India's entry and also requesting the member nations to support the bid, now Canada has announced its support to the Nation. One of world's leading proponents of the international non-proliferation regime, Canada, has come out openly in support of India saying that the presence of India in the exclusive nuclear club will actually strengthen the Group's export controls.

    PM himself sends letter to 6yr old girl!

      Vaishali Yadav, a six year old heart patient, had written a letter to PM Modi to help her for her surgery as she is poor, she underwent a major heart surgery last week with help from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). She then sent a letter to Modi thanking him and also attached a drawing which she has made. To her pleasant surprise she got a letter from Modi himself. Modi wants Vaishali to make country proud.

    Ganguly: I will not repeat that mistake!

      The interviews of probable candidates for Indian cricket coach's role have started today. And,the responsibility of selection lies with the legendary Indian cricketers Sourav Ganguly, VVS Lakshman, and Sachin Tendulkar. While talking about the responsibility former captain Sourav said that he will not mess up while making a choice this time as he did once when he recommended Australian Greg Chappell's name in 2005.   "I once had an opportunity to select the coach. I thought I messed it up in 2005 (during Chappell's recruitment). I have been given that opportunity again. I had taken an interview (Chappell) once and it did not go off well," Ganguly said, adding, ''Hopefully, we will do it correctly this time, whoever it is... Luckily, I've got support in Sachin, VVS, the BCCI secretary (Ajay Shirke) and the president (Anurag Thakur). Together, we will pick the right person."

    Ramdev baba's yoga project in 1000 acres

      Ramdev baba is said to be making preparation to announce a big project related to Patanjali yoga in an area spreading almost to 1000 acres. According to reports the Yoga guru has got huge chunk of land in Kot village in Aravalis in Faridabad where a major institute on yoga or a healthcare facility may come up. Earlier this year while speaking at Happening Haryana event Ramdev had announced his plan to invest Rs 5,000 crore to set up a university and an international health centre.

    B'lore:Dead centipede served in Idly

      A small restaurant in JP Nagar area of Bangalore, has served a 6 year old girl with Idlies, which had dead centipede in it. The girl who complained of stomach pain and fell sick was rushed to the hospital only to realize that she was served with unhygienic food.  She had to undergo a stomach wash at the hospital. The department for Food Safety has shut down the eating joint and have booked the owner for negligence.

    Finger surgery to 5yr old leaves him in Coma

      Lakshya, a 5 year old boy from Bangalore is in a state of Coma for the past 9 days. After being admitted at Mallya Hospital for a minor finger surgery, he slipped into coma. Doctors who initially claimed that it would take just 20 minutes to complete the surgery came out 2 hours after admitting him, with a news that he has gone into coma because of weak lungs and heart.   Lakshya injured his finger in school on June 10 and his parents admitted him to Mallya Hospital. After the surgery, the boy went into a coma. The doctors later referred him to Manipal Hospital. Purushottam said that the doctors asked him for ` 60,000 as the surgery had to be done in six hours. While he is fighting for his life, parents are heartbroken as they say that the negligence of the doctors at Mallya Hospital led to this state of the boy.

    K'taka:8 school kids killed in accdient

      In a horrific accident 8 students of Don Bosco School, Karnataka were killed while 12 have sustained injuries. Out of the injured, one child is said to be critical, while the teacher, driver and rest of the children are out of danger. The accident took place at Mohadi crossing when a private bus, plying from Byndoor to Kundapur (which is located 400kms from bangalore), collided with a Maruti Omni van. A case has been registered by the police.

    China now links India's NSG entry to Pak

      In a bid to stall India's chances to entry the elite Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), Chinese media has claimed that any exemption given to India must apply to Pakistan as well, as it has also applied to join the group. Openly defending Pakistan's nuclear record, media reports said that it was AQ Khan who was responsible for atomic proliferation which was not backed by the government and argued that any exemption to India for NSG entry should also be given to Pakistan.

    Tourist murdered in Goa hotel

      Virender Kumar, a 60-year-old tourist from Delhi was found murdered in his hotel room in Panaji in Goa on Monday morning. The motive of the murdered is yet to be ascertained but the police disclosed that preliminary investigation reveals that he was suffocated to death with a bed sheet by the assailants. The victim is said to have returned to the hotel room with 4 unknown people after visiting a local Casino before the murder took place.

    World Yoga Day:PM says Yoga not religious

      On the occasion of World Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narender Modi, led a camp of over 35,000 people for the second Yoga Day celebrations. While addressing the gathering about the importance of Yoga in daily life, he said, it is not a religious activity and people should perform it for better mental and physical health. Modi announced two annual awards to be given from 2017 for doing exceptional work for promotion of yoga at the international and national levels.

    Interview for Indian Cricket coach starts

      Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman would be interviewing probable candidates for the positiong of Indian cricket coach on Tuesday. The board had received a total of 57 responses to its advertisement for the job, and 21 of them were shortlisted for the advisory committee to review. Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri are said to be the favorites for the position.

    No public holiday for International Yoga Day

      There will be no holiday and all government offices will remain open even while the entire country marks the International Yoga Day. Yoga will be voluntary for central government employees on Tuesday. There are about 50 lakh central government employees. Over one lakh events have been planned in the country on second International Yoga Day.
