  • 1.87 Cr cheating case on Hrithik's ex wife

    A cheating case of Rs 1.87 crore was booked by the Panaji police on Hrithik Roshan's ex wife Susanne Khan. Real estate firm Emgee Properties has accused Susanne of falsely projecting herself as an architect to secure a contract with the company.The complainant alleged that Khan failed to deliver the project within the period stipulated in the contract. And also that when asked for details about her registration number with the Council ofArchitecture, complainant alleged that Khan avoided giving them the number and finally, on inquiring with the council, the company learnt that she was not registered with it.

    Loneliness makes 68yrs old join back school

    In an inspirational story, Durga Kami, all of 68 years, has donned the school uniform and the bag to kick start his educational journey all over again. Kami who is studying tenth grade at Shree Kala Bhairab Higher Secondary School, posed for a picture wearing his school uniform at the door of his one-room house in Syangja, Nepal, the picture which is now going viral on social media. The father of 6 children could not complete his education due to poverty and is back to realize his dream walking in with the help of a stick into his new school. He says he joined to over come his loneliness after his wife's death and says will keep studying till his death.    

    Modi doesn't need Rajan says Rahul Gandhi

    With Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan saying that he would not be continuing for the 2nd term in the office a political storm of sorts has started. Rahul Gandhi has taken to twitter to hit back at Modi for Rajan's exit. He tweeted: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows everything. He has no need for experts like Raghuram Rajan." "Thank you Dr Rajan for steering the economy in difficult times. People like you make India great."

    Missing Vizag girl found in Goa

    Kairavi Sharma,17, who left home leaving a text to her father that she would only return once she gets a job and become independent. She booked on a flight to Pune from Visakhapatnam on Wednesday with a connecting flight from Hyderabad. But went missing from the Hyderabad airport. She was later traced down in Goa by the police. The girl is suspected to have taken a train to Goa from Hyderabad that same evening. She is back with her parents safely.  

    Mamta Kulkarni denies drug racket charges

    Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni who has been named as an accused in India's biggest drug racket has dared the police to prove the charges against her. She said that the police is trying to frame her with false allegations against her and that she has nothing to do with this entire episode. She said, "Imagine, now they are accusing me of Rs 2,000 crore. My account doesn't even have a decent Rs 1 crore. So what are they talking about? A woman who has amassed Rs 2,000 crore should at least have Rs 20 cr as FD." 

    Hyd: Donor heart travels 26kms in 13mins

    A 16-year-old road accident victim's heart traveled 26 kms in a span of 13 minutes which was transplanted into a 29-year-old Bangalore-based techie in a record 75 minutes. The student met with an accident in Nizamabad, after all attempts to save his life failed, the doctors at Continental Hospital declared him brain dead on May 13 at 5 pm. The boy's family then agreed to donate all his organs and save as many lives as possible. And the recipient of the heart was, Santosh Sudhir Sangvikar, who had been ill for one-and a-half years, after suffering a massive heart attack in Bangalore.  

    Depressed over Divorce Doctor commits suicide

    Dr M.Vijay Kumar who was pursuing DM in Nephrology at the Osmania Medical College has committed suicide by cutting his stomach with a surgical blade allegedly due to depression. He got married five years back, but however, they decided to end the relationship and got divorced. And he was said to be depressed because of his loneliness. In his suicide note he said that his organs should be donated and that if the organs are not usable the body should be given to Gandhi Medical college.  

    Read Quran to get free fuel in this country

    Reading one chapter of the Holy Quran during the holy month of Ramazan could get you two liters of freefuel. Yes, this is true. The state-owned Indonesian oil and gas company has given this offer to motorists in the country. Prayer rooms have been set up at gas stations for this, and have seen a steady stream of visitors. Officials say this is being done to encourage devout Muslims to read a chapter of the holy book.

    Tata,Boeing aerospace facility in Hyderabad

    In a major boost to brand Hyderabad, Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems on Saturday started a new facility in the city for its joint venture named TATA Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL). It has been established to co-produce Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopter fuselages and other aerostructures. The Hyderabad production facility which will eventually be the sole producer of AH-64 fuselages globally, is worth over Rs 200 crore.

    PM orders inquiry on Essar's phone tapping

    In a big development, Prime Minister Modi has ordered an inquiry into the Essar leaks case. He has directed the Home Ministry to initiate an immediate inquiry into the alleged tapping of telephone conversations by the Essar Group. Supreme Court lawyer Suren Uppal in his complaint to the PMO alleged that the Essar Group had ordered its former security chief Albasit Khan to tap into its business rivals' telephone conversations.

    Zimbabwe win 1st T20 in last ball thriller

    In a historic win Zimbabwe has beat India in a last ball thriller in the first T20 match of the on going series. As it had earlier failed to qualify for the Super 10 of World Twenty20 and had lost T20 series to Afghanistan earlier this year, it makes this win even more special to them. It was an outstanding last over from Neville Madziva which made them win the match. India needed eight runs to win from the last over and MS Dhoni was at the crease but he failed to take India to the finishing line. Zimbabwe won by 2 runs.

    As is known to everyone Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni loved riding bikes and playing football. And he has been doing just that during his off time in Zimbabwe. Dhoni was seen riding a police bike in Harare. Dhoni himself uploaded the picture on his Instagram account, where he can be seen sitting on a police bike, with a policeman standing right next to him. He was also seen playing Fifa on the Play Station with his teammates.

    Acid attack on college teacher in Bhopal

    Two men on abike, wearing burqa stopped by to ask an unsuspecting 24-year-old college teacher for directions and suddenly threw acid on her. She ran in panic for almost a kilometer crying for help. An elderly woman returning home from a yoga class wrapped her in a bed sheet and rushed her to hospital. The police say the accused, might be known to the teacher as her relatives have said that two youths have been harassing her off late. She is said to have suffered 30% burns on her body.  

    Man open fires at IIM Amritsar

    Indian Institute of Management,Amritsar, students were in for a shock when they heard gun shots being fired at the apartment which was rented out to them as accommodation. Though both the students and residents didn't comment on the issue the police called it a case of "clash of cultures". The students stay up till late, often playing music, even as they work on their projects, something the other residents of at the apartments do not appreciate.

    1 out these 7 could be next RBI chief

    The Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan has categorically said that he would not want to continue as the chief of RBI for another term. Now this has led to officials looking at a long list of almost 7 probable candidates for the top job. The candidates are Vijay Kelkar, Rakesh Mohan, Ashok Lahiri, Urjit Patel, Arundhati Bhattacharya, Subir Gokarn and Ashok Chawla. We have to now wait and see who would be the successor to Raghuram Rajan.  

    Microsoft to do Marijuana business

    Marijuana is still illegal, according to the federal government. But state after state in the US has legalized marijuana in one way or another. Though the major corporates have stayed out of this business, Microsoft is breaking this taboo by entering the Marijuana business. It has done so by recently announcing a partnership to begin offering the software -a new product in Microsoft's cloud computing business -which is meant to help states that have legalized the medical or recreational use of marijuana manage their sales and commerce.

    Virat, AB in Warne's T20 dream team

    Shane Warne the legendary Australian spinner has named his dream team in T20's and Indian Test Skipper Virat Kohli has made it to the team along with AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle and the recently retired New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum.  England's wicketkeeper Jos Butler was also chosen along with Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman and West Indian Sunil Narine. 

    RBI Governor says "No" to 2nd term

    Raghuram Rajan whose current term as the Governor of Reserve Bank of India ends on September 4 has said he would not like to continue in the position for a second term. In a statement release this is what he had to say: "While I was open to seeing these developments through, on due reflection, and after consultation with the government, I want to share with you that I will be returning to academia when my term as Governor ends on September 4, 2016. I will, of course, always be available to serve my country when needed".

    Only 15% water in 91 reservoirs

    Though the monsoon season has started, the water levels dont seem to rising as expected. As there less rain till now the water storage in 91major reservoirs has dipped further and overall availability stands at just 15% of capacity. Of the 91 big reservoirs monitored by the Central Water Commission, 27 are in the west, 15 in east and 12 in central India and  31 reservoirs in the south India.
