      Shiv Sena, which is in coalition with the BJP in the government of Maharashtra has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi if and whether practising yoga will relieve people of the pain of inflation and corruption. This while talking about the current problems the nation is facing. But they also applauded Modi's efforts to spread the message of Yoga when they said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves praise for making 130 countries perform yoga. Through yoga, Modi made 130 nations lay on the ground."

    Dad leaves baby in hot car;then keeps her in Fridge

      Michael Thedford a father of three, went to drop off his three children at school but he found that the youngest, his 6-month old daughter, was a little ill and had fever. So he dropped off the 5-year-old and the 3-year-old and went back home with his baby named Fern. But the father was so tired that he went home and slept for 4 hours before realizing that he left his infant child in the car it self.   The baby was stiff and unresponsive when Michael opened the car door to take her, he then realized that she had very high temperature. In an attempt to cool her down, he then did the unthinkable, he took her back home and kept her in the refrigerator for a very long time. He later took the baby out only realise she was dead. He has been booked by the police for manslaughter.

    Test driving a Mercedes father-son escape

      A Mercedes Benz car worth Rs 40 lakhs was asked for a test drive by Anil Anand (54) and his son Sahil Anand (23) at a showroom in Delhi. They went for a test drive and did not return. After waiting for hours and sending teams after them, when the showroom authorities failed to trace the car, they got a complaint registered. The police later nabbed the accused.

    Beauty queen arrested in drugs case

      Darshitmita Gowda a former beauty queen who also won the title of Miss Queen Karnataka contest in 2014, was a very well known person in the fashion circle. According to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers, the model, who was 26 years old, was part of a multi-state racket which provided drugs to several high-profile customers and college students in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Goa. She is the fifth person to be arrested in connection with the case, in which a probe has been on since November 2015.

    Dubai to allow alcohol sale during Ramadan

      For the first time ever Dubai has allowed day-time alcohol sales during Ramzan. It has loosen rules prohibiting day-time alcohol sales during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, a move that reflects how much Dubai's rulers value the revenue both tourists and alcohol tax bring into this emirate. Earlier if one has to drink alcohol they had to wait till the Muslims break the daylong Ramzan fast with their first sips of water and their evening meal. Now with this decision its good news for tourists.

    85% of Mumbai roads filled with cars

      Mumbai has 430 cars per Km of road that's what the latest statistics by state transport ministry say. Mumbai has the highest density of private cars on road as compared to any other metro city in India. And to add to the commotion another 172 cars are added to the roads daily. Though the length of the road remained the same at 2,000 kms over the past few years, 85% of the roads are being occupied by the cars in the city.

    Now Open: World's first electric road

      The world's first electric road is now open in Sweden. This has been started in a bid to promote green energy. This project is seen as a key component in achieving the country's ambition of an energy-efficient and fossil-free vehicle place by 2030. The road will serve as a testing ground for electrically-powered trucks which will operate under real traffic conditions. If the truck goes outside the electrically-powered lane, then it will run on the combustion engine or the battery-powered electric motor.

    Anil Kumble might win the Coach's race

      Indian spinning legend Anil Kumble might just be declared as the next Indian coach soon. According to reports he won the race for the Indian Cricket coach and left behind the likes of Ravi Shastri, who was earlier working with the team. The Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman interviewed the shortlisted candidates for the post is said to have voted for Kumble to get the top spot.

    Another Nirbhaya;21yr old raped at gun point

      In what looks like a repeat of the horrific Nirbhayaincident, a 21-year-old girl was raped at gunpoint and a pistol and wooden particles were inserted in her private parts. The girl belonged to Motihari village in Bihar. The girl who was grievously injured is said to be in a critical and battling for her life.   The accused had earlier assaulted and molested the girl and made an MMS clip of the incident. But when they called her and tried to blackmail her, she hit the main accused with a blade. That is when in a fit of rage he committed this gruesome crime.

    Dhoni equals Ricky Ponting's record

      Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni led his side to a series victory in Zimbabwe in both the ODI series as well as T20 series. He also made quite a few records for himself while on the tour. The win in the final match of the T20 series also helped India break the record for most T20Is in a calendar year and helped MS Dhoni equal Ricky Ponting’s record of captaining in 324 international matches, to be at the top of the list alongside the Australian. Dhoni, who was appointed captain in 2007, has led India in 60 Tests, 194 ODIs and 70 T20 Internationals.

    Bihar: Boy Makes Voice Controlled Wheelchair

      Anurag Prakash from Bihar has done something very special for his grandfather. He made a Voice Controlled Wheelchair for him to move around independently in his oldage. Anurag, a final semester student at the Birla Institute of Technology, inspired by physicist Stephen Hawking, who owns a voice-controlled wheelchair, created this version which responds to voice commands for four basic movements like left, right, forward and reverse. It even stops when it encounters an obstacle or approaches a staircase.

    PM in Uzbekistan for SCO summit

      Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tashkent earlier today to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) annual summit. In a special gesture PM's Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoev was at the airport to receive him.   In the two day summit, the SCO will start the process of India's accession to the grouping as a full-fledged member along with Pakistan. Coinciding with the SCO summit, the two-day annual plenary of the NSG begins on Thursday in Seoul during which India's application for membership of the atomic trading club will be looked into.

    Rs 1 lakh Cr Defence acquisition soon

    Defence minister Manohar Parrikar is looking to give the Indian Defence a boost by making a acquisitions for the armed forces which would be worth Rs.1 Lakh Crores. This would include critical purchases like armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), an advanced air Defence system, carbines for the Army and a range of vessels for the Navy. A priority on the agenda is a proposal to acquire a new fleet of armed drone for the Indian Air Force, which will expand its options for punitive cross-border action in response to terror.

    PM meets China's President;to discuss NSG

    Prime Minister Narendra has reached Tashkent early on Thursday. According to sources he would be discussing India's NSG membership later in the evening when he meets China's President Xi Jinping in an attempt to persuade him into agreeing to India joining the NSG. Media reports also say that the issue of India's application for NSG membership was brought up earlier today as well, in Seoul.

    India beat Zim in a thriller;win series

      In yet another match which has gone down till the last ball, India has won the match and clinched the series against the host Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe restricted India to 138 for six and got close to the target before ending at 135 for six. India survived a big last-ball scare before winning the T20 series 2-1. It was a dramatic finish to the game as Zimbabwe was almost on the brink of a win as they needed 4 off the last ball, but they could not manage to hit those runs.

    RSS hosts Iftar for Muslim envoys

      On July 2nd an RSS affiliate body, Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) will be hosting a grand 'iftar' for Muslim envoys. For this they have invited ambassadors of many countries, including Muslim nations like Pakistan, to spread the message of unity and harmony.   The RSS leader organizing the event said, ''The aim is to tell the world about Indianness and help people from all communities to live in peace and harmony... India is a ray of hope and peace for the Muslim world".

    EU membership voting starts in Britain

    The voting procedure has started in Britain to decide whether they should continue being a part of the European Union. The future of their country and Europe will be known tomorrow once the results are out. The European Union membership debate has lead to an intense debate between the "Leave" and "Remain" camps after a bitter campaign that appeared to divide the nation. In the pre poll analysis 'Brexit' and 'Remain' camps are neck and neck.

    Mary Kom's Olympic dream Ends

      Mary Kom will be missing out in action in this year's Rio Olympics. The reason being that she was denied a wildcard entry to the 2016 Games by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Mary Kom had earlier failed to book an Olympic ticket after losing in the second round of the World Championships last month. She was earlier looking to participate in the Olympics this year at Rio before announcing her retirement but has now changed her mind.

    Decline in number of women joining army

    Indian Air Force has  recently commissioned three women fighter pilots for the very first time and have set a precedent. But thestory of women in the army does not look the same. In a shocking statistics, the number of women officers in the Army has declined by 50 per cent, in the last six years. Army had first started recruiting women in 1992, and in 2011 they have recruited 166 officers but in 2014 only 100 women have joined the army. In the current year the number of women officers has gone down to as low as 61.
