  • Setback for India,China ignores NSG bid

      China has yet again differed its stand on India's Nuclear Suppliers Group membership saying that this was not even on the agenda of the meeting which would be taking place in Seoul. This come less than 24 hours after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had expressed hope that we would be able to convince China to support our entry to the NSG.

    Rajan's message to next RBI Gov

      Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan's announcement that he would not be continuing for a second term has raised a political storm. But he has a meaage for his succesor at the position, while delivering the foundation day lecture on 'Fight against inflation: A measure of our institutional development' at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, he urged the next RBI governor to keep focus on controlling inflation. He said they should produce a low-inflation future for all of us.

    No cricketer involved in Zimbabwe rape

      The Indian cricket team which is touring Zimbabwe was hit by controversy after an official associated with one of the sponsors of the series was arrested on charges of rape. The Zimbabwean media reported that an unnamed Indian cricketer had been arrested on charges of rape. But later the India's ambassador to the African nation denied the news and said that no Indian cricketer has been involved in the case.

    SBI in 'Hall of Shame' list

      The biggest public sector bank State Bank of India has been named in a 'Hall of Shame' list of 158 banking and financial institutions globally that have invested billions of dollars in companies making cluster bombs. State Bank of India is the only Indian entity on the list. The list also includes global giants like JP Morgan, Barclays, Bank of America.

    India beat Zim;level T20 series 1-1

      Indian fast bowler Barinder Sran's magnificent figures of 4 for 10 helped India to restrict Zimbabwe to a paltry total of 99 for 9 in the first innings.  KL Rahul (47 not out) and Mandeep Singh (52 not out) then put on an unbeaten 103-run opening stand to take their team home in just 13.1 overs. This was a great comeback for the team which has lost a last ball thriller in the previous match by just two runs.

    Trump fires his campaign manager

      Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager of Donald Trump's presidential race, has been fired from the position by the leader. This was done as a damage control ahead of the polls as the recent results showed people from across varied communities starting to support Hillary Clinton, who is his rival in the run up to the Presidential elections.

    PM: India most open economy in world

      Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has been approved by the central government to 100 percent in various sectors including civil aviation, defence, pharma. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the relaxation of rules in FDI, saying they would make India most open economy in the world. He tweeted:   ''Centre has radically liberalized the FDI regime, with the objective of providing major impetus to employment and job creation in India.''

    Now 100% FDI in Defence,Aviation,Pharma

      In a major boost to the country's economy the Central government of India has approved 100 percent FDI under government approval route for almost every sector, including defence, civil aviation and pharmaceuticals. The defence sector that had a cap of 49% of FDI, is now 100% open. The government has also allowed 100 percent FDI in civil aviation, DTH, Cable Networks, animal husbandry and trading, including through e-commerce, in respect of food products manufactured or produced in India.

    Man kills wife in front of 2yr daughter

    In a horrific incident a 35 years old man from Maharashtra has stabbed his wife to death in front of his 2 years old daughter. He was married to 25-year-old Pooja for the past six years. On sunday following an argument he killed his wife and went to the police station to confess leaving his daughter behind who went to her grandparents and told the horrific tale. The couple have two daughters, aged two and six. Ashok, an alcoholic and was undergoing treatment and counselling for de-addiction.

    80 yrs Grandma is world's oldest body builder!

    For grandma Ernestine Shepherd,age is just a number. Ernestine who just turned 80 years old is the world’s oldest female body builder. Despite her age she still participates in fitness competitions and boasts of a figure like that of a young athletic woman. She entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest female body builder.

    Indian cricketer gets Oscar for best dad!

    International cricketers get to spend very less time with their family as they are on tour most of the time during their active professional careers. Virender Sehwag who was once such a busy cricketer gets to spend some quality time at home with his wife and kids now. His sons Aryair and Vedant on the occasion of Father’s Day, presented their father a custom-made Oscar trophy. And the exceptional batsman shared the picture of his trophy on Twitter saying that he is blessed to have them.

    Virat Kohli in trouble because of Football

    Advertisements of Virat Kohli promoting the T20 of Football called the Premier Futsal League (PFL) have beenon air for quite some time now. And his support to the league seems to have landed him in trouble with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The president of the federation has said that it has informed the sports ministry that the Futsal Association of India (FAI) is an unrecognised body and it is considering legal action against it The inaugural season of the league was scheduled to be held between July 15 and 24. Futsal is an improvised form of football played with five players per side on a smaller ground, indoor or outdoor.

Barinder Sran (4/10) finished with the best figures ever by an Indian on debut and Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets for 11 runs. India will level the three-match series if they win this game.

    5 MPhil,984 graduates apply for Coolie job

    Raising the unemployment debate yet again, 5 MPhil and 984 graduates have applied for 5 job positions to become a coolie or a porter in Maharashtra. The position infact requires one to be just a fourth standard pass. While speaking about it Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Secretary Rajendra Mangrulkar said, "We have received applications from 2,424 candidates for the five 'hamal' posts. They include 5 MPhil holder, 9 PG diploma holders, 109 diploma holders and 253 with PG degree".

    MBA Minister shocks people with Elephant spellling

    Shankar Chaudhary, the Gujarat Minister of State for Urban Housing, Health, Family Welfare and Transport, who was out to teach English to the students of a government school was caught in anembarrassing situation. He was caught writing the incorrect spelling of an elephant as 'elephent' while teaching the students. Earlier a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed against him at the Gujarat High Court, questioning the authenticity of his MBA degree.

    Astronauts land in Kazakhstan from Space

    Three astronauts one from Britain, one from NASA and another from Russia have touched down on Earth at a remote part of Kazakhstan. They returned to Earth after their 186-day-long stay in the International Space Station (ISS). The journey back to Earth was made in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft, designed to withstand the intense heat created when the spacecraft enters the Earth's atmosphere.

    Rajasthan Minister abuses Manmohan;Cong angry

    While comparing the ex Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the current Prime Minister Modi, the Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria has hurled abuses at the former which has made the Congress party furious. He was caught on camera abusing Singh with a Hindi swear word while addressing party workers in Rajasthan. The congress party has demanded an apology from the Minister.  

    SBI Chief may become next RBI Chief

    Arundhati Bhattacharya, the chairperson of India biggest lender State Bank of India, is the front runner for the post of the Governor of Reserve Bank of India once Raghuram Rajan's term comes to end on September 4. According to reports the government will not be setting up a search panel for selection of the new RBI Governor. But would be announcing the name fairly soon to avoid any further speculations.
