  • Pak PM's 2nd Open Heart Surgery on Tuesday

      Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan will be undergoing an open-heart surgery next week in London, his daughter and government officials said. It will be the second open-heart operation for Mr. Sharif, 66, who has been treated for heart problems over the past five years. PM Modi has wished him a speedy recovery.

    IIT's planning a secured job scene for students

      The news of start-Up giant Flipkart postponing the joining date of the students from IIM after giving them the offer letter to join in June,the IITs are not looking for a safety net to be in place if such scenarios take place again. Some of the startups have, after making their offers , reduced the compensation they had promised to pay to the freshers. The IITs now have allowed all the affected students to re-register for placements.

    Warner Powers SRH to IPL finals

      This Sunday would be a battle between two of the most loved captains, Virat Kohli and David Warner, and two of the most consistent teams of IPL,RCB and SRH this year. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner almost single-handedly took his team to the finals of this year's IPL. Warner produced a majestic 93 in the winning run chase. The target was 163.

    Nadal out of French Open

      Rafael Nadal has pulled out of Roland Garros on Friday because of an injury to his left wrist. "I have to retire from the tournament because I have a problem in my wrist that I have had a couple of weeks. Yesterday I played (after taking) an anaesthetic injection on the wrist" said the Spanish left-hander. He will be turning 30 next week.

    Cant trust Pak on terror: Rajnath Singh

      Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said his trust in Pakistan on the issue of fighting terrorism has been "completely shaken". He said, "My trust has been completely shaken. The kind of support which we should be getting from them(Pakistan) on the issue of terrorism, that is not happening. I do not have any hesitation in saying this. I will not have any hesitation in saying that if our NIA team does not get permission to visit Pakistan then it will be betrayal. They should be allowed."

    Minor raped by 33 men in Brazil

      Rio de Janeiro in Brazil which is the place where the upcoming Olympics is to be held is in news for all the wrong reasons now. A 16yr old girl was gangraped by 33 men at gun point. The men carried rifles along with them. She was with her boyfriend that night, and woke up to 30 odd men surrounding her with rifles and guns

    Chandra Babu proves he cares for citizens

      The much talked about Mahanadu has started today in Tirupati. And AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is one busy man with so much happening around him that he needs to take care of. He yet again proved that he cares for the citizens as much, as he has asked his cadre not to occupy all the rooms in the temple town and to let the citizens stay comfortably. He also asked them to share the rooms available amongst themselves so that enough rooms are available for the devotees.

    Cabinet re-shuffle in Modi Govt soon

    Amit Shah, the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday confirmed that the much awaited Union Cabinet reshuffle will take place soon. But he has not confirmed as to when exactly will it happen. The cabinet will get a new minister of state for sports (independent charge), which is vacant after Sarbananda Sonowal became the Chief Minister of Assam.

    Wasim Akram scared to bowl to Virat

    Virat Kohli has impressed old and new generation of cricketers and cricket lovers alike with his blistering knocks of late. But there is one bowler who is happy that he doesn't have to bowl to him and its none other than Wasim Akram. He said "We haven't seen him play the reverse shot or the lap shot; he always plays proper cricketing shots with the full face of the bat. That's why he has been very consistent and as a bowler if I had to bowl at him, I will be worried."

    Jawan kills 4 Terrorists;becomes Martyr

    Havildar Hangpan Dada killed four heavily-armed terrorists who infiltrated into North Kashmir from PoK before he laid down his life for the country earlier today. He was 36 yr old. Dada was injured badly in the encounter with the terrorists.  Dada spotted the movement of terrorists in the area on Thursday and wasted no time in engaging them in an encounter that continued on Friday too.

    Missing Indians found dead on Everest

    Wangchu Sherpa, the managing director at Trekking Camp Nepal, said today that a 58 yr old Indian mountaineer, who went missing on Mount Everest nearly a week ago, was on found dead. Attempts are being made to locate another Indian climber whose body was reportedly lying above 8,000 metres on the world's highest mountain.The two mountaineers were near the summit of the 8,848-metre peak last Saturday when they lost contact with the rest of the four-member team, all of whom were Indians.

    Cricketer in Mamta's cabinet

    Laxmi Ratan Shukla, a Bengal cricketer today found himself as one of the chosen few in Mamta Banerjee's cabinet. He played three ODIs for India in 1999. He called time on his career in December 2015 after scoring 6217 runs and taking 172 wickets from 137 first-class matches. He was part of a 42 strong ministry.

    IAS shifted for praising Nehru

    IAS officer Ajay Singh Gangwar who is currently the district Collector of Barwani was transferred by Madhya Pradesh government today. The reason allegedly is that he had earlier praised country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in a Facebook post. "The state government has transferred Barwani Collector Gangwar as Deputy Secretary in the Mantralaya in Bhopal," a state Public Relation department official said.

    TDP's Mahanadu starts in Tirupathi

    Party leaders and workers from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana arrived in large numbers to attend the 3-day event Mahanadu.  The mega convention of the Telugu Desam Party began in the temple town of Tirupati today. TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu hoisted the party flag indicating the inaugural. He also opened a photo exhibition on the late party founder NT Rama Rao. About 30,000 leaders and cadres would attend the meeting from both the states and participate in the discussions on various developments.

    Modi:Govt Docs now to retire at 65yrs

    PM Modi has given some good news for the doctors working in government hospitals. Addressing a rally in Saharanpur Modi announced that the retirement age for central and state government doctors will be increased to 65 years. "Today I want to announce from the soil of Uttar Pradesh, that the retirement age for government doctors, which is 60 or 62 in some places, will be made 65 all over the country," PM Modi said.

    Cooking with kerosene ups cataract risk by 50%

      Kerosene is the most commonly used commodity for cooking in rural India. According to a recent study there seems to be a bad news for the women especially who use this method of cooking. "Our results reinforce the documented risks of biomass fuels on other health conditions in India and highlight the need for the rapid development of affordable, clean cooking fuels," said study co-author R.D. Ravindran.

    Police in UP have ended up verifying Rahul Gandhi's address as a servant or a driver. So, the question which arises is, does Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi live in Indirapuram locality of Ghaziabad? May be not. But it looks like some's prank.     J&K Gun Battle;4 militants killed

    Two gunfights between militants and security forces are ongoing in north Kashmir, so far killing four militants, one soldier and injuring another. Combing operations still on as soldiers spotted five-six terrorists trying to cross the LoC Troops of 35 Rashtriya Rifles guarding the LoC intercepted the group near Toot Mari Gali in Naugam sector early on Thursday morning.

    Microsoft, FB to build 6000Km subsea cable

      Microsoft and Facebook are collaborating on a system to accelerate the development of the next-generation of Internet infrastructure and have joined hands to lay a giant state of the art sub-sea cable across the Atlantic Ocean connecting the US with Europe and beyond in order to facilitate faster speed and access to the Internet. Construction of the cable will start in August 2016 with completion expected in October 2017.
