16 US based IT Companies ready to start in AP

Nearly 16 US based IT and IT enabled sectors are planning to begin their operations before end of this year in the incubation center to be set-up in Vizag. Currently they all are operating from different cities across India and doing $20 to $100 million business per year. They said their emotional bond with the state encourages them to begin operations in the state.   Satish Manduva, CEO of Texas based Intelli Soft Technologies said “Currently, we have branches in Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. We are now planning to set-up a 200 member team at Vizag over the next three years. We are e3xpecting to generate $15 million from this branch.   Brahma Gupta, founder of Indrasol, a mobile and analytics company incorporated in California is also keen to begin his company operations at Vizag. Sunil Kailaru, Chairman and CEO of Primus Global, a Texas based IT Solutions Company said that he believes it would be 25 percent cheaper to start operations at Vizag instead of going for expansion to their Hyderabad or Bangalore branches. Several others also, who agree with them are ready to start their company operations at Vizag.   JA Chowdary, Chairman of the Industrial Development Forum, who is putting lots of efforts to bring IT Companies to AP said that state government has announced a separate IT policy to attract them to state. He said several sops like land at rebated cost, 100% reimbursement on stamp duty, 25% subsidy on power tariff for three years period to micro small and medium companies have been declared for IT Companies in the new policy. He is quite hopeful that the new policy will brings in many IT Companies to the state in the coming days.

T-Government worried over industrial shifting to AP

Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s representation to 14th Finance Commission urging for huge funds has revealed the other side of the coin. He admits that over 3,000 dealers have shifted to AP post bifurcation and proportionately there is fall in revenue sources. He stressed the Commission to grant special status to Telangana state also, otherwise this flow may continue into AP for the same reasons. Leading two wheeler manufacturer-Hero Moto Corp, which initially planned to set-up its first ever plant down the south in Telangana, later moves to AP because it can enjoy all the tax benefits there when the special status is accorded to state.   Telangana government fears that many industries and business houses may also follow Hero’s path in future, if not accorded special status to Telangana state also. Its apprehensions are genuine, but there are several other factors like prevailing power crisis, its poor relations with Centre and neighboring state, its aggressive nature, the controversies erupted in the Hyderabad metro rail project, Chandrababu Naidu’s industrial friendly nature etc. that make the industrialists and business houses think about shifting into AP.   So, Telangana government has to take remedial actions to attract fresh investments and also to keep the existing industries and business houses cling to Telangana state. For example, Telugu Film Industry, which makes Hyderabad as home and quite comfortable there, is now thinking to shift to Vizag or Nellore. Telangana government should find what is going wrong and how to rectify it.

BJP can challenge TDP in near future: Kavuri

Former union minister Kavuri Sambhasiva rao doesn’t need any special introduction. People of the state have seen how he played dual roles in bifurcation process and about his desperate attempts to join TDP to secure party ticket in the general elections. He joins BJP as a last option but fails to secure party ticket there also. Like many Seemandhra Congress leaders, his political future is also blinking because of the dual role he played.   He was not seen or heard until now after the elections. But, he recently pops-up in the BJP party meeting and grabbed the opportunity to dig TDP leaders of his district, who blocked his entry into party. “It came to my notice that some ruling party leaders in West Godavari district are harassing the farmer and people, who do not vote them. Such leaders can’t shine in politics for a long time. I will not remain a silent spectator if they continue their odd practices. I am quite confident that BJP will become strong and matching force to TDP in the state in the next ten years period,” said Kavuri.   Minister Prattipati Pulla rao stated that TDP will remain in power for next 20 years and Lokesh will become Chief Minister next. YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly believes that he might have missed this chance, but definitely not in the next elections. Now, Kavuri is saying BJP will become a matching force to TDP in the state in the next 10 years. Then, what about Congress party and its fate?
