  • People are with us: Devineni Uma

AP Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara rao attributes Nandigama by-elections victory to his government’s 100 days successful ruling. He said that the huge majority that TDP gets in the by-elections is due to its commitment on its elections promises and for its decision to build the state capital Vijayawada.   He said that people have proved that they have full confidence on CM Chandrababu Naidu and the state government by giving huge majority to TDP in the by-elections. He said that his government is committed to implement every promise made to people including crop loans waiver.   He flayed AP PCC President and former president Raghuveera Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana for their inability to conduct an elections meeting in Nandigama constituency. He flayed them for trying to distract the people with their false and baseless allegations against the ruling party.   Of course, state government’s decision to build the state capital near Vijayawada may please the people and make them vote for TDP. But, the sympathy wave due to TDP MLA T Prabhakar rao’s death is also main factor that make the people vote for his daughter T Sowmya.   However, Devineni’s observations about Congress party are true. Both the Congress leaders have desperately tried to defame the ruling TDP government with their false allegations, but couldn’t convince the people. In fact, the verdict is a slap on their faces.

AP and Centre signs MoUs for power projects

Modi government that granted a pilot project of un-interrupted power supply to AP state three months ago, has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AP Government today for the same. Union Minister for Power Piyush Goyal and many top officials of his ministry have participated in this program held today at Hyderabad. They also signed MoUs for setting up 2,500 MW solar power plants in Kadapa and Kurnool.Besides the state government has also signed MoU with NTPC for setting up 4,000 MW Thermal power project at Visakhapatnam.   Minister Piyush Goyal is all praise to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He said he believe that Chandrababu Naidu is role model Chief Minister, who can foresee the future requirements of the state and plan accordingly. Chandrababu Naidu may be happy for his compliments also for this development taken place at the end of his 100 days ruling of the state. If, these power production units become operational, Andhra Pradesh state will have surplus power and can earn additional revenue with its sales.

TDP blessed with Congress wrong strategy

Congress party has turned Nandigama Assembly by-elections a blessing for ruling TDP with its wrong strategy by announcing them as a referendum on TDP ruling, whereas they are necessitated with the sudden death of TDP MLA Tangirala Prabhakar rao. Obviously, TDP candidate Tangirala Sowmya, the daughter of the deceased wins the by-elections with huge majority of 99, 748 votes over her rival Congress candidate Babu rao, who is able to fetch only 24, 921 votes.   To be frank, the sympathy wave sweeping in the area has given her edge over him. However, TDP can claim now that it passes the test in the people’s court and people are with it, thanks to Congress party’s wrong strategy. While these results boosts the confidence of the ruling TDP, they further shrinks the Congress party stature. However, YSR Congress party which often jumps for such chances has taken a very wise decision by staying away from these by-elections.

Medak by-elections results referendum on TRS ruling

Although, ruling TRS party victory in Medak Loksabha by-elections was sure, Congress and BJP have put lot of effort to win the elections. TRS candidate K Prabhakar Reddy is currently leading with 2, 00, 555 votes at the end of 10th round of counting of votes. BJP, which was prepared to face this occasion may regret for fielding Jagga Reddy as its candidate. Although, Congress party has made a wise selection by fielding former minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy as party candidate, she is overpowered by the ruling party’s might influence. TRS can claim now that this victory in the by-elections is the referendum on its 100 days ruling obviously people may agree it is a genuine claim.

Is Jagan pointing at Minister Paritala Sunita?

YSR Congress party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who enjoys cabinet rank for being the main opposition leader in the state assembly, has filed a petition in the High Court yesterday challenging AP government’s decision of reducing his ‘Z’ plus security cover. He complained that the government’s decision was unjust and politically motivated. He also stated that he has life threat from his political rivals in Ananthapur district. So, he appealed the court to order the state government to revive his ‘Z’ category security cover immediately.   There is something interesting point than his filing petition against the state government. It is mentioning about having life threat from his political rivals in Ananthapur district. Although, he did not mention anyone’s name in particular, he might be pointing at Minister Paritala Sunita, who is accusing him for the brutal murder of her husband late Paritala Ravi. Probably, Jagan has intentionally adds this point in his petition as if to create some embarrassment to the Minister, otherwise he need not to mention this point to stress for ‘Z’ security cover.

    Medak, Nandigama by-poll results today

By-elections results of Medak Loksabha and Nandigama Assembly constituencies will be announced today. Votes counting process of both constituencies will begin at 8am and results may come out any time after 11am. However, TRS and TDP are quite confident of their candidates K Prabhakar Reddy (Medak) and Tangirala Sowmya (Nandigama) victory with huge majority.   Telangana BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya seems has admitted his party candidate Jagga Reddy’s defeat by stating TRS candidate’s majority will considerably reduce. The sympathy wave sweeping in Nandigama with sudden death of TDP MLA Tangirala Prabhakar rao may help his daughter Tangirala Sowmya win the elections with huge majority in Nandigama. Besides these two constituencies, results of by-elections conducted for 3MP and 33 assembly seats in other states will be announced today.

    Solar Plants in Kadapa, Kurnool

The first ever e-cabinet meeting held India by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu today, indeed has caught the attention of entire nation and even Modi government. During this first paperless cabinet meeting some significant decisions have been taken.   1. Government will start clearing crop loans from first week of next month.   2. NTR canteens, NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme, increase of pensions to aged, widows and handicapped will be launched from October 2nd on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.   3. Un-interrupted power supply project will be implemented from October 2nd.   4. Five hundred acres of land in Sri City in Chitoor will be allotted to Hero Moto Corp Company for setting-up two wheeler motor cycles’ manufacturing plant.   5. Solar plants at Galiveedu in Kadapa in 2000 acres land and Panyam in Kurnool district in 5000 acres of land will be set-up that generates around 2500MW power supply.

Hero Company to set-up plant at Chittoor?

It seems AP state cabinet’s decision to allot 600 acres of land at Sri City in Chitoor district to Hero Moto Corp Company underlines the point that the Company has formally agrees to set-up its first ever two wheeler manufacturing plant in south India in Andhra Pradesh state. Earlier, it tilts toward Telangana state, but seems has changed its mind after CM Chandrababu Naidu talked with its MD Pawan Munjal at Andhra Bhavan during his recent visit to New Delhi.   The Company seems to be satisfied with his assurance over getting special status to the AP state, with which it may get a tax holiday for five years. The other aspect that may encourage Hero Motocorp Company to tilt toward may be the location offered by AP government. Chittoor is very ideal for it to cover entire southern India, comparatively Telangana.   If, the Company sticks to its decision steadily, it would be a blessing for Andhra Pradesh state. If, the plant is set-up at in Chitoor, it will bring huge direct and indirect employment sources to the state. This plant will bring along several ancillary units with it. It will boost the scope for hotel, transport, realty, business houses, small, medium scale industries and traders. Thousands of skilled and semiskilled persons may get direct or indirect employment if this plant becomes operational.

Is CM KCR wasting money on Sania Mirza?

Telangana Chief Minister KCR has appointed star tennis player Sania Mirza as Telangana brand ambassador and also paid Rs.2 crores for it. However, T-TDP MLA Revanth Reddy argues that there are four brand ambassadors-CM KCR himself, his son KTR, his daughter Kavita and his nephew Harish rao. He argues that no one else in his cabinet have any importance. If so, CM KCR might be wasting money on Sania Mirza. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister responding on her appointment said that Andhra Pradesh state name itself is a brand ambassador for the state and doesn’t need any person to promote it.

CM KCR invites troubles with his poll promise?

Telangana CM KCR, who is successful in separating the state with his agitations, seems is facing similar problem after becoming Chief Minister of Telangana state, as the beleaguered T-Congress leaders start agitating for creation of new districts, grabbing his elections promise made for it.   Several Congress leaders like DK Aruna, G Chinna Reddy etc. have started demanding to create new districts with their constituencies as headquarters. Some enthusiastic Congress leaders in Mahboob Nagar, Bhadrachalam and Vanaparthy etc. have started indefinite hunger strikes and also giving district bandh calls to stress their demands. They insist KCR implement his poll promises in this regard.   There were reports that Telangana government is gearing for creation of seven new districts- Siddipet, Vikarabad, Kothagudem, Suryapet, Nagarkurnool, Mancheryal and Jagtial shortly and seven more in the second phase. However, Telangana government has condemned the reports. But it was too late to do anything, because people also expecting him to create new districts at the earliest.   So, CM KCR has to blame himself for inviting troubles by promising to create 24 new districts in the state. Congress leaders seem are playing the same cards that KCR has played for Telangana state to gain upper hand over them.

Can Dr.Manmohan escape from his responsibility?

Former Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh has simply washed hands from 2G and Coalgate, the two big scams that takes during his regime by stating I did my duties honestly. Former Comptroller General and Auditor of India Vinod Roy in his recent interview given to media stated that Dr.Manmohan Singh took no initiative to stop 2G scam although he is fully aware about it. He blames him for remaining silent spectator on this issue.   Dr.Manmohan daughter Daman Singh has penned a book “Strictly Personnel: Manmohan and Gurusharan.” During this book release function at New Delhi yesterday, Dr.Manmohan responding to media questions on Vinod Roy’s allegations made against him said “I, indeed, did my duty. Well, I do not want to comment on other people what they have written.”   His daughter Daman Singh, who is working as a History lecturer in Delhi University and wrote the book showing insights of her parents, simply escapes by stating, “Actually, I have no idea about what he was speaking about and what he said about my father. So, I can’t say anything.”   The way a person is accountable for his family, Dr. Manmohan Singh being head of the UPA Government is also accountable for its mistakes and misdeeds, although he sidelined by the party high command. So, he can’t simply wash off its hands like his daughter stating that he did his duties perfectly and he doesn’t anything about the scam.

TRS may not get same majority in Medak: BJP

It seems BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya has accepted his party candidate’s defeat even before going to polling in Medak by-elections. He said that TRS candidate K Prabhakar Reddy may not get the same majority of KCR, who gets around 4.5 lakhs votes in the general elections from the same constituency. Dattatreya said it may be far below that figure.   So, it is understood that he is agreeing TRS candidate will with certain majority over BJP candidate Jagga Reddy. Minister Harish rao, who is personally supervised the elections campaigning of TRS party also made similar statement. He said that both BJP and Congress parties are fighting to get back their deposits.

Congress may lose Maharashtra: Opinion Poll

Maharashtra and Haryana states are simultaneously going for Assembly elections on October 15th. Hence, once again it is time for opinion polls. According to a latest survey conducted by ABP News-Nielsen, NDA alliance partners will make a clean sweep in the Maharashtra state Assembly elections by winning 200 out of 288 Assembly seats. Congress and its alliance partner NCP may get only 65 seats, according to opinion poll.   While BJP is expected to win a minimum 107 seats on its own, Congress may be able to fetch just 40 seats as against 82 in the previous elections. However, around 26 percent of the respondents surveyed have preferred the present Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan as against Shivasena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, although they rated his performance is just above average. If, these predictions become reality, it will be a big jolt for Congress party.

Hyderabad brand image damaged in TRS ruling?

Former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy’s remarks made against Telangana government seem has exactly hits the target. He said “Hyderabad brand image was damaged during the 100 days ruling of TRS government.”   Minister K. Taraka Ramarao sharply reacting to his remarks has asked him, “Was Hyderabad brand image was intact when several ministers of Congress party and IAS officers were charge sheeted by CBI and sent to Chanchalguda Jail? If not, how it will be damaged with a clean government offering corrupt free governance? It is quite unfortunate to hear a senior politician like him is making this kind of meaningless allegations. I would like ask can he prove that Hyderabad brand image was damaged in our ruling.”   Congress and TRS leaders are seen crossing swords only to convince the people of Medak district to vote for their party. People will see them all cooling their heels on the very next day of polling.

Committee for shifting HODs to Vijayawada!

AP government seems to be very cautious with its every move, unlike Telangana government which is very dashing. Today it formed a three member committee to comprising principal secretaries of Finance, Transport and Municipal ministries to submit a feasibility report on shifting of head of the department offices to Vijayawada.   The committee was given 15 days’ time to submit its report. It will study and make recommendations on how, when, which and where to shift the HOD offices. It will trace out the suitable office premises for each HOD in Vijayawada. Then only state government will take a decision on shifting of HODs from Hyderabad. Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t want the shifting process disrupt the governance. So, he asked the committee to take care of every aspect in shifting of HODs to Vijayawada.

Nag’s N Convention Center comes under GHMC scanner again?

Two months ago, Tollywood actor Nagarjuna has demolished part of his N Convention Center structures, as GHMC officials alleges that they were built on the encroached government lands. Nagarjuna did so to avoid further embarrassment from them. However, GHMC officials have seen it as admitting his mistake and took legal advice for further actions. They were suggested to serve him notices to conduct a survey in his N Convention Center, which they argue was constructed on Tummidikunta Lake that belongs to state government.   They believe around 3.3 acres of land has been encroached by the actor for constructing his N Convention Centre. However, Nagarjuna argues that he has all legal documents that prove his ownership on the particular land. So, it will be confirmed only after conducting a survey of the lake and his convention center. If, GHMC officials prove he encroached the government land, it will tarnish his and his family reputation.

No buyers for AP Red sandal logs

AP government, which is desperately looking for alternative revenue sources to bail itself out of its critical financial condition has pinned its hopes on Red Sandal lying in forest department godwons in three districts. It expects to pocket at least Rs. 7,000 crores from it through global auction. It planned to sell part of its stocks initially and after seeing the response it plans to sell the rest of the stocks. So, it called for global tenders for auctioning Red Sandal, expecting it could fetch at least Rs.1000-1500 crores. Although many parties have come to evaluate the quality and value of the Red Sandal logs, hardly any of them have shown any interest to purchase them. AP state government, is quite disappointed with the response. It came to know that AP government is planning to send its officials to Japan and China markets, where there huge demand for Red Sandal.

Petroleum University to emerge near Rajahmundry

AP State government has sent proposals to Centre for setting up Petroleum University and Information Technology (IT) hub near Rajhamundry. State government has ear marked 760 acres of forest land between Rajahmundry and Rajanagaram on National Highway No. 16 for this purpose. Centre has to de-notify this forest area before approving the state government proposals and granting funds to these two projects. Centre will fund both these projects and state government has to ensure speedy construction.   Rajahmundry rural MLA Gorantla Buchchaiah Chowdary said that once the Centre grants necessary permissions and funds it may not take too long to kick start the construction activities. He also briefed about some other plans of the state government. He said Potti Sriramulu University will be shifted from Hyderabad to Bommuru in Rajahmundry in the near future. He said around 30, 000 houses for poor will be constructed at Rajahmundry rural area in the vacant government lands.

    KCR’s Lunch meeting with Governor

Telangana Chief Minister KCR has met Governor Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan, where had a meeting for around than three hours that ends with a lunch. Though, there is no official briefing about their meeting, it is learnt that they have discussed about Telangana budget sessions that commence from next month, forming state elections commission etc. issues. Obviously, Governor might have suggested him to revoke the decision banning of two media channels.
