Purandeswari found fault with TDP government

Former Union Minister and BJP leader Purandeswari has found fault with AP government. She objects the state government for claiming full credit of implementing various welfare schemes and projects in which the NDA government is also contributing funds.   Addressing the party workers at Pedanandipadu in Guntur district, she said “NDA government is also funding for old age pension schemes implemented by the state government. It is also providing huge funds to all states for constructing latrines for every poor family. It is funding 90 per cent cost of the Polavaram Project in the AP state. It has granted uninterrupted power supply pilot project to the AP state. But, the state government is claiming full credit of all those welfare schemes and projects. So, BJP workers should campaign about our party and central government contribution in such programs and projects.”   There is a general opinion among the people of the state that NDA government is not helping the state as it was expected to be. For example, even seven months after formation of state and central governments, several promises like Railway Zone, Special status, industrial corridor from Vizag to Chennai etc. are were not granted till date. People think that the state BJP leaders are also not taking any initiative to stress their party high command to fulfill all the promises made to the state in the AP Reorganization Bill-2014.   Their ignorance or failure to highlight such points mentioned by Purandeswari helps to develop negative opinion among the people. This kind of negative feeling against NDA government is very harmful to BJP’s political interests in the state. If, BJP is really serious to strengthen itself and emerge as alternate political power in the state, all its leaders should campaign about the central government contribution in the state development.   In fact, her criticism is not intended to hurt the TDP but a wake-up call to the state BJP leaders. The ruling TDP government also should realize that it should share the credit of developing the state with the BJP to avert such criticism from its alliance partner and that will encourage them to pressurize the central government.

Conditions applies to free housing scheme: T-Government

Providing two bed room houses to every poor family is one of the many elections promises made by the TRS Chief KCR. He reiterated his promise even till recent past. However, Indrakaran Reddy, minister for housing has stated that conditions apply to the free housing scheme.   He said “We have estimated that it will cost Rs.4.5 lakh for constructing a two-bed room house in 490 square feet area. Keeping in view of financial constraints, government will pay Rs.3.5 lakhs and the beneficiaries have to pay Rs.1lakh only.”   Earlier, the Congress government was used to provide ‘Indiramma Illu’ to the poor people in urban and rural areas also. Under this scheme, government provides Rs 45,000 to Rs 70,000 in rural areas and from Rs 55,000 to Rs 80,000 in urban areas for the poor people in the upper casts and backward classes and Rs.1.2 lakh in urban and rural areas to the poor people in the SC and ST categories.   Then, KCR has asked how the Congress government expects a four or five member family to live in a small single bed room flats? So, he offered to provide two-bed room houses to all the poor people in the state totally at free of cost. But, now he seems has realized that his promise is costlier than his crop loans waiver promise. So, his government is now trying to reduce the financial burden by transferring part of it on to the poor people.   Now, it is Congress party’s turn to ask him how his government is expecting the poor people to pay Rs.1 lakh and why is putting such conditions when he promised to offer them at free of cost. TDP leader Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy and former minister DK Aruna opine that CM KCR is trying to escape from one by one of all his elections promises. They said there is no surprise if the Telangana government links this scheme to Aadhar or some other system to narrow down the beneficiaries.

I will be thankful to my brother always for it: Pawan Kalyan

Chiranjeevi Although, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan politically differ with each other, they still respect each other like ever before. It was revealed during ‘Gopala Gopala’ movie audio release function held at Shilparamam in Hyderabad yesterday.   Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said “I will remember my elder brother Chiranjeevi’s advice as long as I live. I used to dedicate all my time for practicing Yoga and meditation before joining film industry. One day, when I tried to explain about the importance and good things about Yoga and Meditation to him, his reply makes me realize what the life is and how to live it.”   “Then he told me “You can tell any stories as long as I keep sweating in film profession and your sister-in-law is feeding you. You will realize the sweetness of the life only when you also strive hard and achieve something.”   “I felt his reply like a slap on my face. I will not forget his advice in my life. I am very thankful to him for making me realize what the life is and for guiding me towards my goal.”   “I will honestly effort to achieve my goals. Either it may be in films or politics. But, I believe success and failures are not in our hands. They are controlled by the god alone. I think my duty is to put sincere efforts and leave the rest to the god. I believe in god and humbly accept whatever he offers me. I have never asked him for any favours before, but after seeing my fans are feeling very sorry for my frequent failures then only I prayed the god to give me a hit.”   Pawan Kalyan always spells his mind very honestly about any matter. Perhaps, that is why his fans love him so much.

AP Government may go to court over EAMCET issue

The AP Reorganization Bill-2014 states that the existing system of higher education is to be continued for the next ten years without any change. This is applicable to EAMCET admissions also. But, the Telangana government is not willing to abide by that clause. It wants to conduct EAMCET separately on its own.   CM KCR argues that it is inappropriate to jointly conduct the exams even after Telangana state is emerged as a separate in the country and no other government can force his government to conduct exams jointly with it. His argument can be justified, if there is no certain clause in the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 for this purpose. But, the previous UPA government has added this clause in the bill to safeguard the interests of the students studying in the Hyderabad and in other Telangana districts.   There are lakhs of students whose origins are in Andhra Pradesh. So, all those students may badly affect if the Telangana government that is desperate to develop its own identity introduces a new syllabus and a new pattern in the EAMCET Exams. That is why the AP government is objecting the Telangana government’s proposal of conducting separate exams.   AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao will meet Governor Narasimhan on Saturday afternoon to intimate him that his government will be forced to go to the High Court or Supreme Court if he fails to convince the Telangana government for conducting joint exams.   Since, the AP government is arguing on the basis of AP Reorganization Bill-2014, the court may direct the Telangana government to strictly abide by the clauses in the bill. But, the legal fight between the two governments may lead to confusion among the students and their precious academic year may be wasted, if there is any delay takes place in conducting the exams due to this legal battle between the two governments. So, if the Telangana government is reluctant to conduct exams jointly, it can implement the same from the next academic year onwards taking the consent of the courts.

YCP finds fault with CBN’s decision

YSR Congress party may believe that being the main opposition party, its duty is to oppose any decision taken by the ruling TDP government, so is it opposing the CM Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to allow the retail market giants Reliance, Wal-Mart, ITC into AP market.   Vasireddy Padma, the official spokesperson of the YSR Congress party speaking to media at party office flayed Chandrababu Naidu for allowing the retail giants into the AP market. She also levied serious allegations against him of taking thousands of crores of rupees bribes from them. She asked why he has changed his mind when TDP MPs were issued a whip to vote against the FDI bill in the parliament during UPA regime. She reminds that her party opposed the bill, but TDP MPs have abstained during voting time. She demands an explanation from the CM about what makes him change his stand on this issue.   If, Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t allow the retail giants enter into the AP market then also YSRCP may blame him for behaving like a monarch. It should note that no developing country or state will ever think to control the markets instead they will be encouraged to spread and thus generate revenue for the governments. If markets are flourishing with good business, it is generally considered as a good sign of healthy condition of the states. Since, Chandrababu Naidu is dreaming for a rapid development of the state, he is letting the markets also spread proportionately.   And opposing the FDI bill is to be seen as purely a political decision. The FDI bill was introduced by the rival Congress party and so TDP opposed it. However, Vasireddy reminds that the two MPs of TDP have abstained from the FDI Bill voting. That itself is indicating about TDP’s stand on it. Unfortunately, YSRCP is trying to politicize each and every issue instead of giving constructive suggestions to the state government.   YSRCP alleges that Chandrababu Naidu chooses Vijayawada for building the capital city merely because he wants to benefit his party leaders. Now, Vasireddy Padma alleges that CM Chandrababu Naidu is allowing the retail giants into the state only because he received thousands of crores bribes from them. Since, she is making very severe allegations against a CM she has to show the evidences for it, before asking his explanation.

Will BJP contest GHMC elections alone?

BJP President Amit Shah will visit AP and Telangana states on January 8 and 9th. He will reach Hyderabad on 7th evening and meet his party leaders of Telangana on 7th and 8th. Probably, he may finalize the party stand whether to go along with TDP or not for facing GHMC elections. While a section of BJP leaders are favoring alliance with TDP, another group are averse to it.   Those who favor alliance with TDP argue that unless BJP join hands with TDP, it would be very difficult to convince the Andhra people settled in the twin cities to vote for it. They argue the TRS that has the support of MIM, if gets YSR Congress party support also then it may have edge over BJP in GHMC elections. So, they argue that it is wise to go along with TDP in the GHMC elections otherwise BJP’s electoral chances will be blink.   However, the others who are opposing alliance with TDP argue that it is worth taking risk in GHMC elections. BJP should consider this as an opportunity to test its strength in the twin cities. They argue that the TRS, MIM alliance should be treated as an opportunity to corner the ruling TRS government over metro rail project and many other local issues.   So, Amit Shah has to take a final decision on this matter. Probably, he may prefer to go along with TDP in the GHMC elections, as it is too early to snap ties with the TDP. Even if he lets the party contest alone in the elections, it would be just a friendly contest and not any serious fight between the two parties. Amit Shah is expected to visit Vijayawada on January 9th. Probably, some Congress and YSR Congress party leaders may join BJP during his visit to the state.

Is PDP playing mind games in J&K?

People’s Democratic Party that emerges as a single largest party by winning 28 seats out of 87 in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is short of 16 seats to form the government. The second largest party BJP that bags 23 seats has tried to strike a deal with it, but drops the idea as the conditions laid by PDP is unacceptable to it.   Then, PDP welcomes National Conference led by outgoing CM Omar Abdullah and the Congress party to support her party. PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti met the Governor NN Vohra on Wednesday claiming that her party has total 55 MLAs support.   But, after coming out of the Rajbhavan, she is all praise to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, instead of briefing the media about her plans for government formation.   She said “Vajpayee had started dialogue with Hurriyat. He had started dialogue with Pakistan. We got generous economic package. UPA continued it for some time but later stopped it. Modi government also got the responsibility to carry forward the development activities as he promised to the people during elections campaigning. But, development will be there as long as peace prevails.”   If she really has 55 MLAs support to her party, she need not to praise Vajpayee ruling and Modi’s support for developing the state. So, she might be playing a mind game to woo the BJP to get its support to her party.   The issues that she mentioned in her statement like dialogue with Kashmiri separatists Hurriyat leaders, Economic package, Development, maintaining peace in the valley sounds conditions for having a deal with BJP.   She may be expecting the BJP to resume a dialogue with Hurriyat leaders, withdraw Armed forces from Kashmir Valley and grant special economic package to the state to share power with her party. But, BJP is averse all her conditions.   She knew that sailing with political rivals-the Congress and National Conference for a long time is highly impossible. Though she runs the show, they both may control her sitting in the back seat. Knowing this, she wants to share power with the BJP to form a stable government, but wants BJP to agree to her terms and conditions. Perhaps, that is what she is speaking about now.   But, BJP also can take the support of its old ally National Conference and form government in the state. He asks Deputy CM Post, a central minister post and a Rajya Sabha seat to his party. So, Omar’s conditions are comparatively much better than her conditions and BJP may think about taking his party support than supporting PDP.

New Year Resolutions

People all over the world are anxiously waiting to step into year 2015. Many of them take many new resolutions on this occasion, while forgetting about their resolutions taken at the beginning of year 2014. Perhaps, we may forget about our fresh resolutions within a month or two and carry on with our routine lives without expecting any much change.   According to a recent survey conducted by research scholars of University of Scranton, only 18 per cent of the people will treat their resolutions very seriously and achieve their goals. According to their survey around 40 per cent of the Americans take new resolutions every year but hardly very few of them remember about their resolutions later.   We may find a lot of stuff on Google about this subject. But, very few people take pains to go through all that stuff to realize what went wrong with their old resolutions and what encourages them to take fresh resolutions again.   If we do some soul searching, try self-motivation, garner our will power in us, one can definitely implement the resolutions, whether they are small or big. But, often people make resolutions just to seek an excuse for their failures in the past or just to impress the friends and relatives. So are their resolutions found untouched at the end of the year. So, we should have some clarity about the purpose of taking resolutions.   If, we have some realistic goals, then it would be easy to uphold our resolutions also. There may be too many constraints in implementing our resolutions, but we shouldn’t let them force us to ignore our resolutions. Instead, we should treat them as challenges that come in our way to distract from our goals. Instead of focusing our attention on the negative things that may pop up, we always should remember that we are in those 18 per cent group of people, who never forget about their resolution and achieve their goals. As long as we let our resolutions tickle in our brains, we can’t be distracted from our goals during the course of time.   After all we all make resolutions just to fill some happiness in our lives. So, we need not to feel sorry for failing to implement our old resolutions, instead we should pat ourselves for thinking in right direction and make another sincere effort to achieve our goals. So, let us take a fresh resolution for year 2015, but with full clarity about its purpose.
