Chandrababu begins ruling from Vijayawada

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been insisting his administration employees to shift from Hyderabad to Vijayawada since last many months. But they are not willing to shift to Vijayawada with such a short notice.   However, he and Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao both have shifted to Vijayawada and decide to operate the government from there from today itself. CM’s camp office was arranged in the Irrigation Department’s building located at Governorpeta in Vijayawada. CS office will be arranged at Collector’s office. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will conduct review meetings of the finance and rural development departments at his camp office in Vijayawada today. CM and CS will stay five days a week at Vijayawada.   Parakala Prabhakar, advisor of the state government has announced that cabinet meetings including the proposed one on August 17th will be held at Vijayawada only. However, shifting of thousands of employees, offices and files would be a major task for the state government. Finding accommodation for thousands of employees and offices would be another big task. The general administration department is making necessary arrangements for their shifting.   But, employees are telling the government that they can move only after providing accommodation at Vijayawada. Hence, still there is some uncertainty prevailing about their shifting to Vijayawada. The Chief Minister may wants to move to Vijayawada after realizing that their phones are tapped by the Telangana government. Otherwise, he would have stayed at Hyderabad for few more years until all the state government offices are constructed in the seed capital at Amravati.

Survey Report: TDP, BJP may win GHMC Elections

In a recent survey conducted in Hyderabad by leading English daily, it was found that TDP and BJP are still strong in the city and they may win majority of wards in the GHMC elections even after TRS clinched some TDP MLAs. TRS government postpones the GHMC elections taking excuse of reorganizing of the wards. It is planning to increase the present number of wards from 150 to 200.   It is learnt that TRS government is creating additional wards in the TRS strong hold areas so as to pocket additional wards. At the same time it is reportedly merging the wards in TDP, BJP strong hold areas so as its limit their chances of winning the GHMC Elections.   T-TDP leaders have recently complained to chief election officer Banwar Lal that the TRS government has issued notices to nearly 34 lakh voters for removing their names from the voters lists as they fails to link their voter cards with Aadhar cards or they are not possessing Aadhar cards.   However, despite all these efforts by the TRS government the recent survey reveals that TDP and BJP combo may pocket 90-100 wards, TRS and MIM alliance may get 70-85 wards and Congress may win only 20-30 wards out of 200 wards to be created. Some independent candidates also may clinch few wards in these elections, predicted in the survey report.   If this survey report is taken into consideration TRS has to do something to increase its tally in the elections. Probably, that’s why it is hugging YSR Congress party, which also can equally attract the Andhra people settled in Hyderabad. YSR Congress party that supports the TRS candidate in the MLC elections may prefer to extend its support to TRS party in the GHMC elections also. If so, both alliance groups may get nearly equal share of wards and hence their victory may be decided with a very narrow margin.

Jagan writes open letter to AP CM and Speaker

The main opposition leader in the AP assembly Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a open letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and to Speaker Dr. Kodela Shiva Prasad. In his letter, he asked them not to let the crooked political strategies take over the house proceedings. He said that his party wants to discuss about many issues related to people of the state and find solutions through a meaningful discussion in the house during the upcoming monsoon sessions. He asked them to tell the purpose of arranging a meeting of committee on general purposes and why it doesn’t met during Pushkar period. He also writes that his party would like to discuss on total 19 different issues during the upcoming sessions.   Jagan Mohan Reddy may wrote this open letter to the Speaker and the Chief Minister because he may expecting a fierce attacks from the ruling TDP members for his special interest shown in the vote for note case and in his alleged involvement for toppling their government. He and his media both have very desperately tried to convince that it is certain for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to quit his post and go to jail in the vote for note case. They have tried to defame him and his government in this case and also on the tragedy takes place during first day of Pushkarams. Hence, he may be expecting a fierce and concentrated attacks on him during the upcoming Assembly sessions.    So, he appears to be asking the Chief Minister and the Speaker to ignore those things of the past and let the house concentrate on the issues related to the people. He may be trying to create an impression among the people that his party wants to discuss about their problems in the house but the ruling party may try to divert the discussion onto meaningless matters. But, he can’t expect the TDP MLAs to spare him for his role he played in the vote for note case.

Pakistan denies, but not his father!

Soon after Pak terrorist Mohammad Naved alias Osman Khan was nabbed by the BSF personal at Udhampur two days ago, he revealed himself as Pakistani national and Pakistan government has made no delay in rejecting his claims. It’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) declares that there are no records about such person in its data base.   But, a leading English daily of India Hindusthan Times, when contacted his father Mohammad Yakub Khan by phone, he admitted “Unfortunately Osman Khan is my son.” In his brief conversation with Indian media he said “Lashkar-E-Toiba and Pak army both are hunting for us. If they come to know that I spoke to Indian media they will kill me and my family. Lashkar militants may have expected that my son will be killed in the fight, but he survived. So, we are facing problems now.”   This is confirming that Osman Khan is a Pakistani citizen. At the same time, it is shocking to know that Pakistan government and Lashkar militants will wipe out the family members of the terrorists, who caught alive in India, probably to hide their nativity and other details. Lashkar militants may be attracting youth like Osman Khan and Ajmal Kasab etc. towards militancy taking advantage of their poverty. Indian and Pakistan both countries got freedom at a time just with few hours gaps in August, 1947. India was able to preserve its democracy and is also gradually transforming into developing nation, but Pakistan is unable to make long strides in development due to military influence on the democratic governments. As a result, majority of the people in the country are gripped by poverty. The militant gangs operating on Pakistan soil, taking advantage of their poverty is attracting the youth.

Sushma Swaraj defends self in Lalit Modi issue

Congress party has been demanding for resignations of Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in connection with Lalith Modi issue. Twenty five MPs of the party were suspended for 5 days from Lok Sabha after they keep disrupting the house proceedings for last two weeks demanding for her resignation and also of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh state Chief Ministers Vasundara Raje and Shivaram Singh Chouhan’s resignations.   Sushma Swaraj responding to their allegations and demand for her resignation refutes their allegations. She said, “I did not helped Lalith Modi to get any financial benefits nor did I asked the Britain Government to arrange visa to him. If, the opposition parties have evidence of my e-mail or letter that strengthens their allegations, they are free to make it public. I have not committed any mistake or unlawful act.”   “Mrs. Lalit Modi, who was in a hospital in Portugal was in serious condition then. Doctors asked her husband to present beside her as they need his consent for her operation. Hence, the Britain government granted visa to him. I did not asked or recommend it to grant visa to Lalith Modi,” said Sushma Swaraj.   She further said, “Whatever reports appeared on this matter in media are not true and baseless. It is meaningless to demand for my resignation by the Congress party based on such false reports. Even the Britain Government has declared that it has granted visa to Lalit Modi on its own. If, Congress has any questions related to this matter it can shoot. I have answers to all its questions. I swear I have not committed any mistake in this case.” said Sushma Swaraj.

Can the AP Government shift to Vijayawada?

Andhra Pradesh government is once again gearing for shifting of all its offices and employees from the common capital Hyderabad to Vijayawada very soon. It has tried earlier also, but dropped the idea due to same reasons that it is facing now. But, this time, it determined to shift them all in one go, which would be a really a very difficult task.   However, it is learnt that majority of the employees are not willing to move out from Hyderabad with such a short notice. But, the NGOs leaders, who talked with Principal Secretary IYR Krishna Rao yesterday said to be agreed to move into Vijayawada if the government is willing to increase their house rent allowance by 30 per cent. They also raised some questions about continuation of their children education, their nativity and life partner’s jobs in Hyderabad etc. They also said to be put some demands like providing medical facility to their family members etc. The state government is said to be offering them to implement five-day-week work system to enable them visit their families at Hyderabad weekly or monthly once. But, it wouldn't be a solution to this problem, instead it may hamper the work in the officies.   Although, newly joined employees are showing interest to shift to Vijayawada, seniors, especially those who are going to retire shortly are not willing to move out from Hyderabad. The state government has to find sufficient buildings to accommodate all its offices in and around Vijayawada. The committee constituted by it has identified some buildings and believes that they would be sufficient. But, the three member committee constituted earlier for the same purpose opined that they are not sufficient.   The state government is now reportedly planning to construct temporary housing complexes near Amravati to accommodate them. But, it dropped that idea earlier because it may take not less than 6-12 months to complete. So, it has to find accomodation to all its employees and officers on war footing mode, if it wants to move them all into Vijayawada. The state government can think about shifting of its employees and offices only after it finds solutions to all these questions, problems and employees demands.
