BJP gives shock to Congress in Bengaluru

  BJP that ruled Karantaka state for nearly two decades has lost it to Congress party in the Assembly elections held in year 2013. But, now it once again clinched Bengaluru Municipal Corporation in the recently held elections from Congress hands by winning 100 out of 197 seats. The ruling Congress party has settled with just 75 seats, while the JDS got 14 and independents 8 seats.   Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Bengaluru for letting his party achieve hat trick in the municipal elections after winning in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan. He said various development and welfare activities initiated by his government are helping his party to win the elections. BJP makes clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh and won majority seats in Rajasthan and now in Karnataka also. The state BJP leaders describe this victory as referendum on Chief Minister Siddha Ramaiah’s poor performance.

What Pawan said was true, but...

  Janasena president Pawan Kalyan during his recent visit to Penumaka quoting TDP MP Murali Mohan’s land issue said “If, the TDP ministers think that farmers of capital are can’t ask the statement government not to take their lands then what they would say about Rajahmundry TDP MP Murali Mohan who fought with late YSR government in Supreme Court and high court to retain his lands taken for outer ring road? When he can fight for his lands then why not the poor farmers of capital zone fight for their lands,” asked Pawan Kalyan. Murali Mohan replied to him today.   He said “Of course, what he (Pawan Kalyan) said about farmers’ lands is correct and is justified. But, the farmers have to make some sacrifices for the sake of our state and our future. Pawan Kalyan spoke about my lands issue without knowledge. YSR government has clinched 18 acres of our lands although we have changed the layouts. We have approached the Supreme Court not to fight for our lands but against the then minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar’s rude comments made against us. Pawan Kalyan may not aware about this thing.”

Roja asks Pawan Kalyan to support AP Bandh

  Jagan Mohan Reddy is sitting for one day deeksha on August 26th in Mangalagiri mandal protesting forceful land acquisition by the government. He also gave a call for AP bandh on August 29th demanding special status for the state. YSR Congress party MLA Roja asks Janasena President Pawan Kalyan to extend his support to the AP bandh call given by her party, if he is honestly fighting for special status to the state. She said anyone and any political party including Pawan Kalyan can join their fight against forceful land acquisition and her party’s fight for special status for the state.   She flayed Pawan Kalyan for rushing to capital city villages every time whenever her party announces its plans for fight on land acquisition. She asked him to extend his support or join her party fight for the same, if he is really honest with his fights. Of course, Pawan Kalyan and Jagan Mohan Reddy both are fighting for the same cause, but obviously Pawan Kalyan draws huge crowds even though he never asks anyone to attend his meetings, whereas YSR Congress party has to mobilize people from surrounding areas to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s deeksha or dharna despite making publicity well in advance. Moreover, YSR Congress party may be thinking that Pawan Kalyan is hijacking Jagan Mohan Reddy’s fight against land acquisition and stealing the attention of the farmers. So, YSR Congress party wants Pawan Kalyan to follow its leader so as Jagan Mohan Reddy gets entire credit and limelight from these two issues. But, why not Jagan Mohan Reddy do the same?

Can’t stop for those three villages: Prattipati

  Janasena President Pawan Kalyan has appealed AP government not to be hasty in taking lands from the farmers of Vundavalli, Penumaka and Bethapudi etc. villages, who are unwilling to give their lands to the government for capital city construction. He suggested the government to constitute a committee to resolve this sensitive issue amicably. But, Ministers reacted otherwise to his suggestions.   Minister Prattipati Pulla Rao said that construction of capital can’t be stopped or postponed merely because farmers of two or three village are reluctant to give their lands to government.   Minister Narayana said “State government is compelled to use Land Acquisition Act only because the farmers are not willing to give their lands under land pooling system. Statement government is not interested to use Land Acquisition Act on farmers, but it would be last option only.”   Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has asked his ministers not to indulge in arguments with Pawan Kalyan as he is ally of their government. He told the ministers that he will talk to him about this issue and educate him about the problems involved in this issue. But, ministers appear to be very desperate to give a fitting reply to Pawan Kalyan that may be inviting fresh troubles to the statement government and is also creating negative impression among the people about their government.

Ravela sharply reacted on Pawan's comments

  Pawan Kalyan has strongly criticized AP Ministers Narayana, Ravela Kishore Babu, Yanamala Rama Krishnudu and Prattipati Pulla Rao in his speech addressing the farmers at Penumaka village in capital city zone yesterday.   He said those ministers who are assuring the farmers today may not be seen in power if their party fails to retain power in the next elections. Then how can the farmers trust their oral assurances. They are ready to handover their lands but are insisting the statement government for an official written agreement that assures their rightful benefits, said Pawan Kalyan. But, the ministers think it as nuisance instead of considering their rightful demand.   He flayed ministers Ravela and Yanamala for taking his suggestion lightly and passing rude comments against him. He said that he may be ally of TDP government, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t take him for granted. Pawan Kalyan said Minister Ravela should not let his tongue slip while speaking about this sensitive issue or else he may have to face farmers’ ire.   Pawan Kalyan once again reiterates that the statement government should not force the farmers of Vundavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and river facing villages to handover their lands using Land Acquisition Act against. Otherwise, he warned that he will not hesitate to fight with the statement government on behalf of farmers. Pawan Kalyan suggests the government to constitute an experts committee to find an amicable solution to this sensitive issue.   However, Minister Narayana said “If the farmers are willing to handover their lands for capital city, then why should we use Land Acquisition Act against them? We are forced to use it because they are reluctant. It is very easy to give suggestions to anyone. I request Pawan Kalyan to take initiative and resolve this problem amicably, if he can.”   Minister Ravela Kishore also similarly reacted. He said construction activities can’t be started unless that few villages are surrendered to government. If, Pawan Kalyan can convince the farmers and make them handover their lands to the government, I welcome him.”

CM Chandrababu holds meeting with Ratan Tata

Former Chairman of Tata group companies Ratan Tata arrived to Vijayawada today to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for chalking out action plan for development of 264 villages in Vijayawada parliament constituency under Corporate Social Responsibility program. Tata group has adopted 264 villages in the constituency and also prepared micro level plans for their all round development. Ratan Tata will explain Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu about how his company is going to implement those plans. Tata Company is likely to concentrate its focus on Health, Education, Employment and basic infrastructure development in the selected villages.   Earlier, Ratan Tata has prepared a massive plan for industrial development in the AP state. They will attend a meeting with some selected industrialists after their one-to-one meeting is concluded. Hence, some huge proposals for setting up industries in the state may be made today during their meeting.   Chandrababu Naidu is keen to develop Vijayawada as transport hub. So, he may seek Tata’s help for it during their meeting. They may conduct a joint press meet around 4 pm at 24k Convention Center at Enikepadu near the city, where they may announce their plans for 264 villages development and industrial development in the state as well.

India-Pak NSA meeting cancelled

  India-Pakistan NSA (National security Advisor) level talks were cancelled in the last minute as both countries stick to their stand. India strongly objects Pakistan NSA Sartaz Azeej’s plans to hold a meeting with Huriyat leaders just ahead of NSA meeting scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Hence, India sets a deadline to Pakistan till Saturday midnight to come clear about it intentions on NSA meeting. India made it clear that it can’t accept a meeting between Sartaz Azeez and Huriyat leaders.   Pakistan NSA Sartaz Azeez sharply reacting to India’s ultimatum blamed India for unilaterally killing the dialogue process by imposing pre-conditions. He declared that India’s pre-conditions are not acceptable to Pakistan and so was dropping from the scheduled NSA meeting. India promptly rejected the charges levied by him and said Pakistan’s decision was an unfortunate.

12 killed, 66 injured in bomb blast in Kabul

  In a massive car bomb explosion that takes place near a hospital in Afghanistan capital Kabul on Saturday evening, 12 people were killed on the spot and more than 66 severely wounded. The bomb was placed in a car parked on the street and triggered with remote when a vehicle carrying foreigners was crossing it. The explosion was so severe that several vehicles parked in the vicinity were turned into pieces of metal scrap within minutes. Window glasses of the six storied hospital building near the explosion location were broken with the intensity of the blast.   British and US security forces rushed to the spot immediately. Medical teams have shifted the wounded to nearby hospital immediately. Some of the wounded persons’ condition is reportedly very critical. So far, no militant group claimed responsibility for the bomb blast. But, security forces suspect that it is Taliban’s work. They observed that Talibans are frequently making explosions in the country ever since the Afghan government has declared that Taliban leader Mullah Omar was died two years ago. They suspect that Taliban militants are trying to indicate their presence with the bomb blasts.

Pawan to visit villages in Capital city zone on Sunday

  Two days ago, Janasena party president and Tollywood super star Pawan Kalyan has tweeted that he will visit Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and river front villages very soon. As announced, he will visit those villages in the capital zone on Sunday. He will reach Undavalli village first and talk with the farmers in a local primary school premises. Later he will move to Penumaka and then to Bethapudi villages to talk with the farmers there.   He has already made it clear that he is against using Land Acquisition Act on the farmers for taking their lands. So, he is expected to announce his future course of action plan from there itself tomorrow. He posted a tweet message on Saturday again.   He tweets “Loyalty to a political party is a virtue as long as it in the interest of nation. If the political party’s policies and actions are damaging the nation, loyalty to them becomes equivalent to a crime against the nation. The interest of the nation must always be paramount in politics.”   He seems to be saying that he wants to distance from the ruling TDP government as it is collecting lands from the farmers against their wish. If he is sure about his stand he should come clear about it instead of beating bush like this. It will help the statement government, his fans and the people to understand what he is expecting the government to do in this case and how he plans to react to it.

TS files petition in Supreme Court

  A three member bench of Supreme Court takes up the petition today filed by the Telangana statement government. Advocate Vaidyanadhan, who represents Telangana statement government in this case argued that Telangana state was formed because it was betrayed of its due share of waters from Krishna and Godavari Rivers in the undivided Andhra Pradesh state. But, still it is not getting its due share of water from River Krishna because Maharashtra is not releasing water to Telangana state. Hence, he appeals the court to reorganize the water sharing system afresh to justify Telangana state. But, advocate Andhyarjun representing Maharashtra state argued that there is nothing new in Telangana’s argument and so no need for reorganizing the water sharing system. The apex court clubbed all the petitions filed in this matter and posted the case to August 26th.   Telangana government that is crying foul in case of Maharashtra is playing the same foul game with Andhra Pradesh state which is in the last place to receive Krishna waters. It doesn’t think anything wrong with self, but find fault with Maharashtra that is in upper portion of the river.

Pakistan cancels Commonwealth Meeting

  It is evident that Pakistan is not willing to accept Jammu & Kashmir as integral part of India, although it is in India since last 7 decades. Pakistan never leaves a chance to raise Kashmir issue on international platforms. But, for the first time it is badly struck with its stand on Kashmir. It has to cancel the commonwealth parliamentary meeting to be held at Islamabad in this month because Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has turned down its invitation.   She insists Pakistan to invite J & K Assembly speaker also to the meeting along with speakers of all states in the country. But, if Pakistan invites the J & K Assembly speaker to the meeting then it would be accepting that J & K state is an integral part of India. Hence, Pakistan refused Speaker Sumitra Mahajan’s proposal and so she also turned down its invitation to the meeting. Pakistan cancelled the meeting, as it couldn’t conduct commonwealth meeting in the absence of India.

Centre launches website for Educational Loans

  Many aspiring students may find it very difficult to convince bankers to get an educational loan for higher studies. Quite often, they have to run from one bank to other to get the loan. Hence, many poor but bright students are betrayed of their chance of higher studies and settling with small jobs.   Keeping such students in mind, Centre has launched a web site- www.vidyalakshmi.co.in to enable the students get educational loans through on-line with much ease. Total 13 banks including SBI, IDBI, Canara Bank and Union Bank of India have joined this noble program as partners. They have agreed to offer educational loans to the students through this portal run by Union Finance Ministry. Total 22 types of educational loans are offered through this vidyalakshmi portal. All details pertaining loan process, proofs, eligibility criteria, application forms etc. are available in the portal. Students, who wants to pursue higher studies can check the details and apply for educational loan on-line though this portal. They can also monitor their loans status at their convenient time without running around the banks. Thanks Modijee.

Chandrababu to demand Rs.1.5 lakh core package for AP

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bumper offer of Rs.1.65 lakh crores financial package to poll bound Bihar state gives a ray of hope for cash strapped Andhra Pradesh state government. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is going to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi Rs.1.5 lakh cores financial package apart from special status to Andhra Pradesh.   The finance and political experts in the statement government have worked overtime and prepared a 200-page dossier justifying Andhra Pradesh government’s demand for financial package and special status as well. Besides technical points that stress the need of granting the package, it also consist media reports about the ongoing agitations for special status and about the mood of the people of the state over this matter. Hence, the dossier reflects the state economical and political situation.   Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will present this dossier to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his meeting rescheduled for August 25th. He is going to stress the Prime Minister to grant special status and also financial package to the state. Prime Minister Modi may not find any excuse to offer to him this time in wake of his recent announcement of financial package to Bihar state. Hence, this time people also can expect some very attractive package for the state.

AP Police to serve notice to T-Home Secretary

  An unexpected development is going to take place today in the phone tapping case. The Special Investigating Team (SIT) constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government to investigate the alleged phone tapping by the Telangana statement government is going to serve notice to Rajeevi Trivedi, the Chief Secretary of Telangana Home Ministry on Thursday evening.   SIT officials have reached Telangana Secretariat a short while ago to serve him notice, following a complaint lodged by Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao few days back in this regard. Hence, it is interesting to watch how the Telangana statement government is going to react on this unpredicted development. Telangana statement government may challenge SIT move in the high court immediately as high court has issued a stay order on phone tapping case few weeks back.

Foundation stone for NIT to be laid at Gudem

  Union HRD Minister Smrithi Irani will lay foundation stone for National Institute of Technology at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district on Thursday morning at 9.30 am. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Sujana Choudary, state ministers, MLAs and officials will attend this function. Classes will be commenced in NIT from this academic year itself in a temporary campus identified by the statement government in Eluru.   Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitaraman also will inaugurate Container Prize Station at Gangavaram Port built by Vizag Profiles. Later, she will inaugurate regional office of the Export Inspection Council at Gambheeram located in the outskirts of Vizag city where IIM is coming up soon. Then she will move to Kopperla village in Vizianagaram district for inaugurating Captive Power plant near Vizianagar Biotech.

CBI files case against former Telecom Min. Raja

  CBI files cases against former Telecom Minister A. Raja, his wife, brother and his close associates on Wednesday after conducting raids on their offices and houses in Delhi, Chennai and Koyampattur simultaneously. CBI files a case against Raja for accumulating disproportionate assets worth Rs.27.9 crores. He is also facing charges in 2G scam for a long time but managed to secured bail. Probably, this would be the beginning of second round of cases for him. If so, DMK president Karunanidhi’s daughter and MP Kanimozhi also should be prepared for her turn to face the cases for the same reasons as she is also involved in 2G scam and allegedly accumulated huge assets.

Modi-CBN meeting postponed

  The proposed meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated for tomorrow has been postponed. It is learnt that PMO has sent a message to the CMO informing about postponement of the meeting. According to PMO message, the meeting will be rescheduled to any day between August 27th and 31st.   Chandrababu Naidu has planned to leave for New Delhi on Wednesday evening for this meeting, but has to cancel it. This meeting is considered to be very significant as they both are expected to discuss about scope of granting special status, besides many other commitments made to the Andhra Pradesh state.   Perhaps, the Modi government wants to buy some time to think about what to offer to the state as scope for granting special status to the state is blink in wake of 14th Finance Commission’s objections. It can easily guess that Chandrababu Naidu may insist for a huge financial package that should be in par with Modi’s latest commitment made to Bihar state for granting Rs. 1.65 crores funds. Postponement of their crucial meeting will also provide enough time to Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers on how and what to demand from the Centre.   This is also providing a great opportunity to the opposition parties in the state to criticize both state and central governments for not giving enough priority to this burning issue. YSR Congress party also can stick to its AP state bandh on August 29th to be made in protest against abnormal delay taking place in granting special status to the state.

Pawan tweets again, Yanamala replied

  Janasena party president Pawan Kalyan is posting messages very frequently these days as the date for land acquisition from the farmers of capital city zone is nearing (August 20th). He once again posted a Tweet message on Wednesday. This time he directly appealed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu not to use Land Acquisition Act on the farmers for collecting lands.   This time he specifically asked not to take the lands of Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethampalli and some river facing villages which are very fertile. He opined that it is very nature of civilization to face environmental pollution, displacement and disgruntlement of some groups in the process of development of an area or a group. But, the ruler’s wisdom lies in developing with least damage.   His tweets in his own words: “Whichever be the country, whoever be the ruler...‘the price of Development of one area or one group always results in environmental pollution, displacement & disgruntlement of another group. This is the very nature of civilization'. But development with least damage possible completely lies in the wisdom of rulers. I urge Hon'ble CM of AP ..Sri CBN garu not to Use 'Land acquisition act' on Fertile Multi cropped Lands of Undavalli,Penumaka,Bethapudi..& other River front villages.   State Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishunudu responding to his latest tweet replied “It is very easy to give suggestion to anyone, but very difficult to find a solution to a problem. Instead of suggesting us what to do and how to do on the land acquisition, if he suggest a solution to this problem it would be much useful to us. It is not possible to construct capital city leaving few villages in the middle of the capital zone. We are not Vishwamitra to construct Trishnaku Swargam in the air.”

US AP NRIs soft-support to AP government

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has proved he is very wise in tapping and utilizing the available various resources. Recently, he launched a non-profit IT project named as ‘Code for AP’ that will be run by Andhra Pradesh people settled in US. They will provide based solutions to streamline work in 30 departments of the statement government.   The areas covered in this project are Central Fund Monitoring, Sentry Gate, Mobile Device Management and News Room portals.   The Central fund monitoring is an application newly launched especially for the state government. It enables the state departments to get latest updates about various ongoing central projects and know the details and procedures of any new or old projects. Mobile Device Management will help the officials at head office to know the activities of their field officials and helps to easy transfer of files of different formats etc. from both sides. Sentry Gate as it spells it’s purpose will control the incoming and outgoing visitors in the state secretariat building. It will enable the security department to record the entries of the visitors and helps to schedule the visitors’ entry timings into secretariat using through Tablet PCs and Android Phones. News Room is an Android application that allows the people to read the latest news updates in English and Telugu from anywhere in the world.   There are two more projects ‘Dial and Expert’ and ‘Open Directory’ will be launched very soon. Dial and Expert is intended to bridge the gap between the people and officials of the statement government. Open director will provide contact details of all the statement government officials. Chandrababu Naidu thanked the AP NRIs for extending their support to the state and statement government through this Code for AP platform.Many more applications may be added to this project to cover all other areas of works in the near future.
