Centre likely to announce decision on OROP soon

The stalemate between veteran army personals and the Centre over one rank-one pension (OROP) is still continuing as both sides have cling to their stand on one point. However, the Modi government is reportedly preparing to take a unilateral decision and make an official announcement in this regard anytime in this week, keeping in view of election code of conduct of Bihar Assembly elections that may comes into effect anytime in the next few days.   Veteran army personals are insisting for a periodic revision of their pension, to be precise, once in every three years. But, the Modi government wants to revise once in five years. Generally, the period is 10 years for all others, but the Centre has decides to revise once in every five years considering the veterans services to the nation. But, the army veterans are not agreeing for it. So, the Modi government is reportedly planning to take unilateral decision in this regard keeping in view of election code.   Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that everyone may have their own formulas for revision of pensions, but ultimately everyone has to follow fiscal discipline.”   However, they both are reportedly come to an understanding over date of rollout and the base year-2011. Government of India allocates Rs. 54, 500 crores in it budget for defence pension bill for the current financial year. The liability will further raises to Rs.8, 300 crores and if arrears also added, it will further increased to another Rs. 12, 500 crores that makes the pension bill Rs. 75, 300 in total for the current year.

Won’t stop Pattiseema for YSRCP: CBN

Chandrababu Naidu shoots a straight question to YSR Congress party today in the assembly. He demands it to reveal its stand on Pattiseema project. He asked whether YSRCP wants the government to supply water to Rayalaseema region or not until Polavaram project is completed. He asked whether Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to conduct Odarpu Yatras in the region, if people there die due to lack of drinking and irrigation water supply.   He said “I can’t wait for your party president Jagan Mohan Reddy’s nod to supply water to Rayalaseema region. I have promised to complete this project within one year but completing it less than 7-8 months period. YSRCP may fear that its political interests will be affected once water is supplied to the region. Hence, it is opposing land acquisition for constructing canals. How can we supply water to Rayalaseema region if land is not collected?”   “I know that YSR Congress party is also aware that Pattiseema is a very useful project for Rayalaseema, but opposing it keeping in view of its political interests. But, I have full clarity about it and know how to complete it despite all odds.”   “My government will not stop works fearing criticism from YSR Congress. We will go ahead and supply water to every village in Rayalaseema region in the near future. I asked the officials and contractors to complete the works on war-footing mode. I assured them that government is ready to release the bills on weekly or fortnightly based on their work progress. At the same time, I also made it clear that I will not hesitate to put the contractors and their companies in black list if fails to deliver quality works.”   “I am not simply making statements about Pattiseema project in the assembly. YSR Congress party leaders can personally visit the site and can check whether water is delivered to the identified areas or not. If not, they can bring it to my notice. I will take stringent action.”   “I am expecting constructive suggestions and support from opposition party for speedy completion of the irrigation projects. If they co-operate with us it is fine otherwise if criticizing us, obviously they have to be ashamed for what they are doing now when the projects are completed.”   “So far, around 29,000 bore-wells are charged under this project. Gradually thousands of bore-wells and lakes also will be charged once the project is completed. Then lakhs of acres of land will come into use for agriculture. It is up to opposition parties to decide whether to take part in this holy program or not,” said Chandrababu Naidu.

One crore worth drug packets recovered from Moosa’s stomach!

Osmania hospital doctors at Hyderabad have conducted an operation that would be very costliest operation in their life time. They have recovered total 40 packets of narcotic drugs from Mosiea Moosa’s stomach during last 48 hours.   The material recovered from her stomach is worth Rs.1 crore! Hence, this would be the costliest operation ever in their career. However, they have not operated her for taking out the drug packets from her stomach. They have given laxatives to naturally extract the pouches.   Mosiea Moosa (32) was identified as South African citizen. She landed at Rajeev Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad on Saturday. Narcotic Control Board officials suspected her that she is carrying drugs inside her body, but she claims that she is pregnant and it is a baby bump. However, NCB officials found that she is carrying drug packets inside her stomach. They rushed her to Osmania Hospital, where the doctors have recovered 40 packets of narcotic drugs from her stomach that weighs 420 grams and costs approximately Rs. 1 crore.   NCB officials have found that she comes to Dubai from Johannesburg on August 23rd and the next day she went to Sao Paulo City, Brazil. Again, she returned to Dubai on August 28th and from there took a flight to Hyderabad. She is suspected to be loaded with banned product in Brazil.   NCB officials have found that her return tickets were also to Johannesburg with 10 days gap. Hence, she may be scheduled to meet some persons in Hyderabad before her return to her Johannesburg.   NCB officials are waiting for doctors’ permission to take her into their custody. Once, she is presented in the court and got her custody, they may squeeze the details like source and destination of drug delivery and the persons or groups involved in this drug pedaling business in Hyderabad.

Jagga Reddy returns to Congress, but...

Toorpu Jayaparkash Reddy, (Jagga Reddy) who jumps into BJP just ahead of elections last year, has returned to Congress on Monday. He made a very peculiar speech during his re-entry into the party.   He said “I am not sure why I left the Congress party. Chandrababu Naidu has suggested me that my future will be very bright if joins the BJP. So, I left the Congress and joins it, but was defeated in the elections. I think my rude behavior and distancing from employees are the reasons for my defeat.”   Then continuing his speech he said “But, I am sure people of my Sangareddy constituency will definitely elect me in 2019 elections. I will make the ruling TRS party ministers afraid to put their leg in my constituency. Around 800 farmers have committed suicides during KCR’s14 months ruling, but he is not minding about their deaths. Once our Congress party comes into power in the next elections, we will teach a good lesson to him definitely.”   First he says that he doesn’t understand why he left the Congress party, but in the next moment he says he joins BJP following Chandrababu’s suggestion. But, why should Chandrababu take pains to advice a Congress leader to join BJP? Even if Chandrababu Naidu gave that advice to him, it is very apt advice for him. His future would have been very bright, in case if he won the elections or at least synchronize himself with BJP, but he admits that he lost the elections because of his headstrong attitude. He fails to shine in BJP probably because for the same reasons. Hence, he returns to Congress, which can easily accommodate politicians like him, who need some extra liberty for speech.   Jagga Reddy said that he lost elections because of his headstrongness. But, still he displays the same attitude in his speech by saying he will scare the ministers and teach a good lesson to Telangana Chief Minister KCR. He points out that 800 farmers have committed during 14 months of KCR ruling. He used to criticize the Congress party for the same reasons while he was in BJP, but now conveniently ignores about those thousands of farmers committed suicides during 10 years of Congress ruling!

The problem, that was ignored for 2 decades...

Indian Army personals have been demanding one rank-one pension since last two decades. Although their demand is justified, it was not addressed until now. Hence, veteran army personals have been staging indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi. Modi government is reportedly completed its exercise on this problem. However, still some delay is taking place in making official announcement and it is very much irking the agitating ex-servicemen.   Actually, they have expected an official announcement in Modi’s speech made from Red Fort on August 15th. But, Modi promised to resolve their problem very shortly but committed any exact date for it. Since then, Modi government is trying to pursue them to end their strike, but they determined to continue till the government makes an announcement on this matter.   Once again, they have expected an announcement on Friday on the eve of the golden jubilee celebrations of India's capture of the Haji Pir Pass on August 28, 1965. President Pranab Mukherjee began these celebrations today with paying tribute to martyrs at the war memorial Amar Jawan Jyoti. But, the veteran army personals, including Wing commander (Retd) KS Parihar, who was a part of the team that won Haji Pir has stayed away from these golden jubilee celebrations for the same reasons. He said he also will join the strike from today onwards.   Defence Minister Manohar Parikar told them that Prime Minister has signed the related files on 15th August itself, but the government needs few more days’ time to make an official announcement as the related files are in the last leg of processing. But, the agitating ex-servicemen are very much upset for government seeking more time to make an announcement. Hence they decide to continue their strike.

Chief Minister is not aware about it?

Janasena President Pawan Kalyan and YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy both have strongly objected issuing notification for land acquisition from farmers of Vundavalli and other river front villages in the capital zone.   Responding to their protests, Minister for Municipal Administration Narayana has made a shocking announcement. He said that notification was issued for land acquisition without the knowledge of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He said that he ordered the concerned officials to issue notification, keeping in view of urgency of collecting land from farmers for capital city. He said, however Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been opposing using of Land Acquisition Act on the farmers. Hence, he asked the officials to hold back the notification issued following suggestions from Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. He said framers will not be forced to handover their lands to the government.   He said that he will personally visit those few villages and resolve the problem of ‘Grama Kantams.’ He said government will take lands only if the farmers are willing to give it on their own under land pooling system.   This unexpected twist given by the minister in the last leg of land acquisition is very surprising. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party may definitely claim credit of this development. If, the government spares those few villages, then farmers of other villages also may ask for exclusion from this land acquisition process. Hence, it would be a very tricky situation and so the statement government has to handle this sensitive matter very carefully.

Conspiracy behind Patel’s agitation in Gujarat?

The agitation kick started by Hardik Patel in Gujarat state demanding reservations for his Patel community spreads like a wildfire and takes violent shape. So far, nine persons were killed and several crores worth properties were damaged in the state, particularly in the state capital Ahmadabad city within couple of days of its commencement. Government has deployed armed forces in the capital Ahmadabad and Patel dominated Surat, Rajkot and Mahasena cities.   The mobs, who raged with the arrest of their leader Hardik Patel, have set fire to Gujarat home minister Rajani Patel’s houses on Thursday. The sudden emergence of Hardhik Patel followed by outburst of Patel community leaves the state and central governments in deep shock. Hardik Patel has launched 'Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) recently and start garning support for his agitation.   Government suspects that there may be some conspiracy behind this agitation. Patel community is comparatively financially very sound. Moreover they are dominating in Gujarat politics, businesses, industries and all other businesses in the state. Patel community in the middle class section is also hard working and always wants to stand on its feet. In fact, Patel community has been opposing cast based reservations. Hence, there was no strong signs of agitations seen until it begins. Interestingly, very few people in Patel community knows about this 22 year old Hardik Patel.Hence, the police and intelligence agencies are trying to find out who is behind him and this violence.

It is worth revoking decision on cheap liquor

Generally, political parties speak differently when they were sitting in the opposition benches and after coming into power. TRS party is also not exceptional to this thumb rule. There was a time when TRS used to criticize the then Congress government lead by Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for its liquor policy. But, now the same TRS party is introducing cheap liquor in the state, whereas it promised to work for ‘Bangari Telanagana.” Obviously, introducing cheap liquor is not part or priority of its Bangari Telangana program, but found a silly excuse to introduce cheap liquor.   Chief Minister KCR is arguing that his government is introducing cheap liquor merely to eliminate ‘Gudumba’ in the state, which is being made with dangerous chemicals that is taking lives of poor people. He said this decision was taken only after thorough discussion in the cabinet meeting and taking feedback from the people of the state. Hence, he justifies introducing cheap liquor in the state. But, if he wants to eliminate Gudumba from the state, he shouldn’t recommend cheap liquor to the people, instead being a Chief Minister of the state, he can use his entire force to eliminate Gudumba from the state. If he thinks that his government can’t eliminate Gudumba from the state, then he can’t eliminate it even after introducing cheap liquor. Instead, cheap liquor comes as another attraction and makes the poor people get addicted to it also.   No doubt, cheap liquor will definitely spreads to remote villages also like wild fire and start ruining the families of poor people. Chief Minister KCR and his ministers, who are using their extraordinary talkative skills to justify their decision, are failing to foresee the irreversible damage that may occur to the social structure of the state. Perhaps, they are eyeing the huge revenue that may generate from selling the cheap liquor. But, the government has to spend double or thrice that amount on medical, health and many other sectors, once the cheap liquor start showing its adverse affects on the society.   Chief Minister KCR has taken many controversial decisions until now and this would be another one in the list. He may be hanging to his decision fearing it may be admitting of another wrong decision taken by his government. It also gives a chance to opposition parties to claim that they have forced Chief Minister KCR to revoke his decision with their agitations. But, if he revokes his decision, it is worth and would be a good decision for the sake of his people. After all, he also wants to see a prosperous Telangana state and not an addicted state.

Jagan reiterates his prediction works

Jagan Mohan Reddy staged dharna at Vijayawada on Wednesday. The purpose of his dharna is to make protest against government’s plan to take farmer’s lands using Land Acquisition Act. But, he reiterates his predictions about Chandrababu Naidu’s government collapse within three years and reveals how desperate he is to become Chief Minister of the state.   He said that the government is going to collapse within next three years and he will definitely come into power replacing Chandrababu Naidu. Addressing the farmers he said, “I am fighting on behalf of you, but may not be able to stop the government from taking your lands. God is there looking all these developments. He will definitely help you to overcome this problem. But, I promise you all that I will return your lands to you once our party comes into power.”   If, Jagan Mohan Reddy is really concerned about the farmers’ situation, he would have promised them that his party will continue its fight against the government on this issue or will help the farmers for a legal battle in the courts. But, he tells them that the only solution to this problem is electing him as Chief Minister of the state.   He can ask local forums and parties to extend their support to his fight, but he said that he will mobilize the support from all over the country. But, why should they show any interest in an issue like this which may not gives them any political mileage? Would he asked actors Pawan Kalyan and Shivaji, who are keen to fight for this cause certainly it would be a great help to the farmers. But, Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be interested to take support of national parties instead regional leaders and parties? But why?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu briefed the media about the details of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi held on Tuesday morning. He said that he has elaborately explained about the poor situation of the state and seeks Centre’s support for speedy development of the state.   He said “I have asked for special subsidies for CRDA that was offered to Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states development earlier. I have reminded him about pending works like setting up industrial corridor between Vizag and Chennai, Railway zone, Duggarajapatnam Port, upgrading some existing airports, Metro Rail, Polavaram projects.
