Kavita ready to cross swords with Sharmila

  Telangana Jagruti forum president K.Kavita has threatens to obstruct the pada-yatra of Sharmila that begins from tomorrow in Telangana region, if her party fails to reveal their party stand on Telangana issue by tomorrow. She said although Sharmila continues her pada-yatra with police protection, it doesn’t make any effect to the people as long as her party conceals their intentions on Telangana issue. She also flays Sharmila’s assurances about Jagan Mohan Reddy’s release from jail during her previous pada-yatra program. Kavita said it makes no difference to the people of Telangana, whether he comes out of jail or not, because they are concerned about Telangana only and not on any other issues like this. Condemning Sharmila’s pada-yatra, she said while on one side the funeral processions of the youth are taking place, conducting pada-yatra to achieve power is heinous act which is insulting for the Telangana people. She asked Sharmila to first declare her party stand on Telangana and then only step into the region.

స్టెయిన్ బౌలింగ్ అదుర్స్ : పాక్‌పై దక్షిణాఫ్రికా ఘనవిజయం

Viswaroopam release on 7th

  Finally, Kamal Hassan was able to announce that his film ‘Viswaroopam’ Tamil version is releasing on February 7th through out Tamilnadu state, as he strikes a chord with protesting Muslim organizations on Friday evening. The Telugu and Hindi versions of this film were already released all over the world, but the delay of Tamil version due to objections in his home state makes him very frustrated.   Speaking to media he said “I am very much thankful to one and all, who stands by me in times of need. I have no words to express my gratitude to those people, who sent me Cheques and DDs after knowing about my feeble financial condition. However, I am returning the Cheques and DDs to the concerned with lots of thanks for keeping me in their minds.”

Will accept any responsibility in TDP: Devineni

  Devineni Chandrashekar nephew of Vijayawada Congress MLA Devineni Nehru and s/o Devineni Baji Prasad, who is expected to join TDP today in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu during his pada-yatra in the city, speaking to media, has said “I am ready to shoulder any responsibility in the party. I will strive hard to bring the glory to the party in the district. My joining in the party would be a slap on face to those people, who states TDP, is a dying party in the district.”   Nonetheless, Devineni’s entry into TDP will strengthen the party base in the district since, his family has been maintaining upper hand over their rivals in the district politics. But, Chandrasekhar’s father Babji and his brother Nehru standing on opposite of TDP, is still a cause for concern. However, TDP is expecting a change in political equations in the district with Chandrasekhar’s entry.

Want to bargain with Cong? Babu asks YSRCP

  Soon after PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana has announced the expulsion of 9 Jagan loyalists from the party, YSRCP has been trying to drag TDP into the issue demanding to serve no trust motion against Kiran Kumar government. Despite sharp response from TDP, its leaders are repeatedly demanding for the same. Hence, this time Chandrababu was obliged to respond to their demand.   During his pada-yatra in Vijayawada city, he said “I know why you are insisting us to serve no trust motion. I know you will be able to bargain with Congress party only when we serve no trust motion. But, neither have we needed your suggestions nor we are ready to obey your orders in this regard. It appears, even with just five seats your party is planning for a deal at national level.”   Speaking about Jagan’s corrupt practices, Chandrababu told the people “Even when Jagan Mohan Reddy is not in power, he was able to accumulate s1 lakh cores worth property during his father’s regime. If, he is allowed to rule the state, definitely he will dispose Vijayawada city. He even sell away the natural resources like Air, Water, land etc. If he is elected to power, then we don’t even will have roofs for our houses. We know when to serve no trust motion. If, YSRCP is so eager about it, then let it do the job on its own.”

Devineni Chandrashekar joining TDP today

  The political equations in Krishna district alters as Devineni Chandrashekar and his brother Devineni Vinay are going to join TDP today in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu during his pada-yatra in Vijayawada city today. Devineni family, which was with TDP in the past but forced to leave it and join Congress party, has been maintaining distance from it all these years. TDP efforts to bring them back into party fold were failed due to several reasons.   However, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s mediation on party behalf with Devineni family proved to be fruitful and the next generation of Devineni family were convinced to realign with their mother party. The entry of mighty Devineni family members will definitely strengthen the party base in Krishna district, but at the same time it leaves some other leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi in despair, who nowadays has been said to be side lined in Chandrababu’s pada-yatra. Devineni Chandrashekar and his brother Vinay are the sons of Devineni Bajiprasad brother of Devineni Nehru.

Line clear for Viswaroopam movie

  The negotiation between Kamal Hassan and Muslim leaders held today were successful with Kamal agreeing to remove the 7 objectionable scenes from his film. Muslim leaders have declared that they are withdrawing their complaints and halting their protests against Viswaroopam film with immediate effect. Kamal Hassan also appears quite happy with the out come and thanked one and all who extends their support to him all these days. Since, the line was cleared most probably the film may hit the big screens from tomorrow across Tamilnadu state.

One more wicket ready to fall in TDP?

  Chintamaneni Prabhakar, TDP MLA from Dendhulur in West Godavari district is known for his aggressive nature in the district. He had several cases filed against him including one for manhandling the SI during a rasta roko program conducted by him in the town few weeks ago. He said that he plans to quit the party, as it neither it cares for him nor backs him while the police are filing silly cases against him. “When, the party doesn’t care for me, I believe I too needn’t hang to party any more,” said Prabhakar to media.   TDP high command alerted with the scrolling in the TV channels about his statement, immediately jumped into action. Some senior leaders of the party is in contact with him. They are trying to convince him not to leave the party.

No poll alliance with any party: YSRCP

  MP Sabbam Hari, who is a loyalist of YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy but still hangs to Congress party, spoke about many interesting things about Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSR Congress party. He said “YSR Congress party will not go for any poll alliance with any political party including Congress party in the forthcoming elections. We don’t understand how the media and some political parties are stating that YSRCP will join hands or merge with Congress party. It is just yet another attempt to damage Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party’s reputation. YSRCP will contest for all the Assembly and Parliament seats without any alliance with other parties.”   Responding to reports linking KVP and Jagan, he said “In fact, both of they differ with each other on many issues. Then how can KVP be an agent of Jagan Mohan Reddy? Some section of media is spreading this kind of rumors to tarnish Jagan’s image. But, people wants Jagan Mohan Reddy to be their next Chief Minister. He even makes a clean swipe in the Telangana region,” said Sabbam from Vizag.

Charge sheet against gang rape accused

  The arguments on the Delhi gang rape case were completed on Friday. Hence charge sheet against the five accused is likely to be filed in the fast track court on Saturday. The 6th accused is declared as juvenile. Hence he will be tried in the Juvenile court as per juvenile laws.   Bus, driver Ram Singh, his brother Mukesh, bus cleaner Akshay Thakur , gym instructor Vinay Sharma and fruit seller Pawan Gupta, who are the 5 accused in this case are currently kept at Tihar Central jail in New Delhi. Most probably, the fast track court may windup the case before end of this month. But, if the accused appeals in High Court and then in Supreme Court, the case may be dragged for a couple of months.   On the hand, the Union cabinet has approved an ordinance for enhancing the punishments in the rape cases, on Friday, based on the recommendations made by Justice Verma committee. The Union Cabinet in its new ordinance recommends for 20 years jail term that can be extended to life time or a death punishment in case of the death of the victim. The cabinet immediately forwards the file to the President Pranab Mukharji for approval of the ordinance. This itself shows that UPA government is sincere on its promise made to public in the peak of Delhi protests.   However, it didn’t bring down the age limit of the juvenile in rape cases in its latest ordinance. Hence the 6th accused in the case who is a juvenile but prime accused still had a chance to escape from any severe punishment.

Botsa plans to topple the Govt: Jogi

  Congress MLA Jogi Ramesh, who was in the list of 9 expelled MLAs announced by PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, has sharply criticized him for taking action against him even without serving show cause notices. He said Botsa, who is eyeing CM chair since a long has planned to topple the Kiran government by expelling 9 MLAs at a time so as his government will fall into majority. He said he has never crossed the party discipline yet Botsa has pushed him out of the party. He asked Botsa, when the government fall minority in the house, whether he will take the TDP support to run the government? He also thrown challenged to him to announce the names of the 9 MLAs, whom he expelled from party on yesterday.   Presently, the Congress strength in the floor is 155. With the latest expulsion of 9 members from the party, it comes to 146. The strength required to keep afloat is 148. Even if the independent member support the Congress government, it reaches to only 147, which is one seat short to required strength. In such case, Kiran government is considered to be lost the confidence of the house. However, neither CM nor PCC president seems to be worried about the magic number. If, someone moves the court or approaches the Governor it will be really embarrassing for the government.  

Telangana lawyers file petition on Chandrababu

  It seems this is the session of police complaints and court cases against political leaders. While the cross firing between Telangana and Seemandhra leaders are continuing, the second rank leaders from both sides are filing cases against each other in police satiations and local courts. While, the Vizag court serves notices to KCR and Prof.Kodhandaram asking them to appear before it on February 26th related to their hate speech, Telangana junior lawyers association has filed a petition against TDP president Chandrababu in Lokayukta on Friday.   They have appealed Lokayukta to order for an investigation into Chandrababu’s illegal assets which he acquired during his term as CM of the state. They have complained that he pockets thousands of crores of rupees through several deals and misused his powers to benefit his daughter Brahmani also. They have pointed out at Lokesh studies in abroad for which huge amounts are required. They have also named his close aide CM Ramesh, with whom he had business deals. They allege that Chandrababu has misused his powers to acquire huge amounts, which he invested in several businesses.   They have reminded the court that, he used to stop the investigations by taking stay order from higher courts. Hence the junior lawyers association has appealed the court to order for a thorough investigation into his illegal assets. The Lokayukta court has accepted their petition and adjourned the case to February 26th. If, they could prove it was genuine petition, then only the court may ask the government for an investigation.

It's media misintrepretation: Venkayya Naidu

  Senior BJP leader Venkayya Naidu, who said that he, Advani and Sushma Swaraj are the eligible candidates for Prime Minister Post in the party, has made a turnaround on his statement, during his visit to Bhopal. Relying to a media question on his statement, he said “I didn’t say that I am in the race for Prime Minister Post. I mean to say that there are several people in our party who are eligible for Prime Minister Post. The media has misinterpreted my statement. I agree Narendra Modi is also eligible for the Prime Minister post.However, the party will discuss and decided about this issue in an appropriate time.”   But,at the same time he expressed his discontent with Narendra Modi by stating “there is significant growth of cultivation in Madhya Pradesh. It even crosses the cultivation records of Gujarat state. The credit goes to Madhya Pradesh CM Shivaraj Singh, who is a raising star in BJP.” His statement hints that he is against Narendra Modi’s leadership and his Prime Ministerial candidature.

T issue inspires Gorkha land demand

  The positive signs by the Congress high command on Telangana issue are making the Telangana people feel very happy and excited. At the same time it also excites some others like pro-Ghorka land and pro-Vidarbha separate state activists. While, Vidarbha region activists prefers to wait until Telangana declaration, Ghorka land activists couldn’t stop themselves from landing at New Delhi to remind the UPA government about their longstanding demand of separate state. They argue that, while the Telangana agitation is just 6 decades old, their agitation way backs to a century and hence their demand is to be justified.   Ghorka Jana Mukti Morcha (GJM) general secretary Rosahngiri accompanied by his team has met the RK Singh, secretary of home ministry and handovers a memorandum to him asking to carve Ghurkha land state.   Although, Congress foresees these developments, it is worried to see them react so swiftly within a couple of days of Chako’s favorable statement on Telangana. Certainly, it creates an unseen pressure on the Congress high command, which is exercising on the Telangana issue.

Opposition let the ruling Congress win the elections?

  The Telangana agitations, Chandrababu’s pada-yatra and Jagan’s jail and bail issue, MIM leaders arrests issue etc have certainly comes as a blessing for Congress party, as all these issues have kept the concerned parties busy, while providing enough opportunity to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to shape the co-operative society elections held on Thursday in his party favor. Would there be no distractions like these issues, certainly Congress party would not have ranked so nicely in the elections. Yet, TDP and YSR Congress party were able to grab considerable societies despite all odds. It is TRS alone had a set back as it couldn’t spare enough time to concentrate on these elections due to its hyper activity on Telangana issue.   Congress has won 561 societies showing a clear domination over their rivals. While, TDP bags 361 societies, YSRCP has won 186 and TRS gets only 57 societies. Yet, there are still 81 societies which were stayed by the government due to untold reasons. But, Chandrababu Naidu alleges that Kiran Kumar Reddy has intentionally stayed the elections fearing defeat in TDP hands. If he is to be believed then TDP’s count would be 440 societies, which is very encouraging for his party. However he seems alarmed with the verdict of the 1st phase of elections and asserted a clean sweep in the 2nd phase of the elections that will be held in this month.

Shankar rao released

  Former minister Shankar rao, who was arrested by Neredmeta police on Thursday evening in connection with land encroachment and forgery case, was presented before Malkajgiri Magistrate. However, when he complained of having serious health problems, police have shifted him to Gandhi hospital for medical check-ups. Since, he undergoes a by-pass surgery few months ago, considering the risk factor police have let him go free without any conditions. When, his arrest news hits the new headlines in TV channels, T-Malamahanadu president Addanki Dayakar has condemned his arrest stating he was arrested only because he belongs to lower cast. Mandha Krishna Madiga also reacts with some what same lines and tone.   However, Shankar rao during his regime has encroached 75 acres of government land and sold all the 875 plots that he made out of it with forged documents. He conducts these illegal deals while there was a stay on it by the Supreme Court. Even though, an arrest warrant was issued long time ago, police have prolongs it keeping in view of his serious health complications. When, he was staging a dharna near DGP office few months ago, he was collapsed on the spot and undergoes a bypass surgery on the same time. Perhaps, his health complications save him from going jail.

TDP plays low profile over T- issue

  The Congress-TRS tussle over Telangana has been taking new twist with each passing day. One day it will be about abusing the national leaders, challenges and counter challenges, another day it will be on resignations issue of T-Congress leaders.   While, this tussle is going on continuously, T-TDP leaders have been playing a low profile as if they were ordered to do so by their party president Chandrababu. Quite surprisingly, TRS also spares them to remain at their ease as if it has pardoned TDP for giving their consent to Telangana formation and for sticking to their word until now.   There is another reason that stops them from joining the cat fight between Congress and TRS. They fear if they highlight their Telangana point at this point and joins the Telangana fight, it will echoes back in Andhra region that may embarrass their party president Chandrababu. Hence, they have let the Congress and TRS continue their fight in the backdrop of Telangana issue. Otherwise, they wouldn’t leave such a great opportunity to corner both the parties, which they believe had a secret pact over merging of the parties. Yet, Errabelli and Revanth Reddy couldn’t stop themselves from pinching the both on this issue.   Back at Krishna district, Chandrababu and his team is taking every precaution to avert attention of Samaikyandhra activists. During all these days, he not even once he has talked on the bifurcation issue and no Samaikyandhra activist had an access to Chandrababu. However, the TDP leaders in the region seem to be convinced that it is an inevitable decision and hence co-operating with him, without raising an eye brow against his decision.

Babu resumes pada-yatra

  Chandrababu after taking a four day break has begins his ‘vastunna meekosam’ pada-yatra from Paritala on Thursday evening. Although, he is not comfortable with his aching knee joints he preferred to resume his pada-yatra. During the last four days he takes rest at Greenway Company guest house in Paritala. he will cover 7.2 km distance on Thursday.
