AP Govt. plans legal fight on Fee Reimbursement

  AP CM Chandrababu held cabinet meeting at his camp office in Lake View Guest house today. Chandrababu asked all his ministers to chalk out 100 days action plan for their respective ministries and strictly work accordingly. He told them that he will review their performance after the given time. He also asked the ministers to trace out the corrupt and illegal activities taking place in their respective departments so as action can be taken against the concerned persons. Since the T-Government is reluctant to reimburse the fee to AP students, the cabinet decides to go for a legal fight against its decision.

KTR for Destination Hyderabad

Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao wants to improve the prospects of Hyderabad and make it another leisure destination. And now he wants to bring the popular Sunburn Music Festival which happens in Goa to Hyderabad and is also in talks with organizers there. With severe power cuts and water shortage plaguing the city of Hyderabad, the IT Minister is keen on promoting events to keep the cosmo crowd of the city in good ‘spirits’. But he seems undeterred by the negative talks and plans to launch year-long events to make the city - Destination Hyderabad for the youth and IT crowd. 

Modis Social Media Mantra to Newbie MPs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday gave tips to the newly-elected MPs of BJP on how to maintain standards in public life and take the message of good governance to the people. Speaking to them in a 2- day workshop where the first time MPs were being trained in the what to expect and do as Members of Parliament  here is  what he said. 1. He asked them to make use of the media, especially the social media in spreading the party message. 2. "To be a member of Parliament is an important thing and one must look at it seriously. Remember, people are observing your performance in the house and even outside. 3. "Our transition from opposition to treasury is not limited to moving a few feet to the other side. This is a significant transition and we must try to appreciate the meaning of this," Modi said, 4. Modi told BJP MPs that they should treat the rule book on Parliament proceedings like the Bhagavad Gita and should not step out of it. He also advised them not do anything in Parliament without the permission of the chair. 5. The PM asked the new MPs to inculcate good parliamentary practices and good conduct in their public life.

Is Kodandaram trouble maker for TRS Government?

  Telangana was formed as separate state in India, but still T-JAC formed to fight for separate Telangana state is still remain live and also very active. T-JAC which met at Hyderabad today has decided to begin a fresh fight on Polavaram project. It was decided in the meeting that T-JAC leaders led by their Chairman Prof. Kodandaram will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 3rd and urge him to revoke the ordinance issued by his government few weeks ago ordering merger of seven mandals of Khammam district with Andhra Pradesh, that will submerge under the project. T-JAC will also meet the tribal MPs in New Delhi to appeal them join their fight against Polavaram.   Later speaking to the media Prof. Kodandaram said “Polavaram is nothing but a direct attack on tribal people. Hence, we will fight for preserve their rights until Centre revokes its decision on the project. If, NDA government is reluctant to our appeal, we will conduct massive rallies and dharnas in Hyderabad in July 3rd week.”   T-CM KCR may not find any problem with their fight, but not when Kodandaram is planning to bring the city to halt with his agitations. KCR may now understand how irritating it would be for a CM, if some groups are agitating in the city. Neither he can order them to drop the idea of staging dharnas nor can allow or encourage them to go bring the city to halt. It is evident that Modi government will not revoke its decision on the project. Hence, if Kodandaram and his group start agitating on this issue, certainly it will embarrass KCR and his government.

Alang Blast in Gujarat- 5 feared dead

At least five persons have died and six others were  injured in an accident at the ship-breaking yard at Alang in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The incident is said to have happened around 11 am when a blast took place as the ship breaking was in progress at plot number 140 inside the yard, according to the  Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB). The injured were rushed to hospitals near Bhavnagar and are being treated. This has come just after the  incident in Andhra Pradesh where a  GAIL pipeline leaked and exploded in Nagaram in Andhra Pradesh leaving 16 dead and more than 30 people injured.

Count down for PSLV C-23 begins today

  The 49 hours count down for ISRO’s prestigious PSLV C-23 will begin on Saturday morning. This most successful and trustable Satellite launch vehicle of ISRO will carry total five satellites including one each of France and Brazil countries. This is purely a commercial mission. PSLV C-23 will be launched from Sriharikota on Monday morning exactly at 9.45 am, said ISRO officials. AP CM Chandrababu, Governor Narasimhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are arriving to watch the launching program. Hence elaborate security arrangements are being made in and around ISRO launching station.

Naidu reaches Nagaram gas accident site

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu cut short his trip to Delhi and reached Nagaram village in East Godavari district to assess the damage caused by the explosion in the morning hours today. He spoke to the ONGC authorities and went to the spot where the accident happened . A large crater was formed in the place of  the explosion  The gas leakage from the underground pipelines which are maintained by the GAIL authorities led to a massive explosion and half the village along with 15 people were killed in the explosion . Trees, cattle and property were burnt in the huge fire that ensued after the blast. More than 30 people have been injured in the blast and  those who have been seriously injured have been shifted to hospitals in Kakinada. Mr Naidu had to face the ire of the people who informed him that there was a persistent problem with the gas leakage and despite complaining to the GAIL authorities they took no action .He assured them that a high-level enquiry would be appointed to look into the  matter. He also met and consoled the injured in the Apollo Hospital in Kakinada and promised to help all those who were injured in the blast .The Human Rights commission has ordered the ONGC and GAIL authorities to submit  a fact finding report by the 10th of July to ascertain as to why the blast had happened.

Rosaiah given Karnataka additional charge

President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Karnataka, in addition to his own duties as the Tamil Nadu Governor. In a press communiqué sent  from Rashtrapati Bhavan, he will take additional responsibility  until they find a replacement for  H.R. Bhardwaj, who completes his tenure on 28.06.2014. Vakkom Purushothaman, Governor of Mizoram, will take on responsibility as Governor of Tripura, as Devanand Konwar completes his tenure tomorrow. Krishant Kant Paul, Governor of Meghalaya, has been appointed to discharge the functions of the Governor of Nagaland and the President has accepted the resignation of Nagaland governor Ashwani Kumar.

GAIL should pay the price for negligence

Whether it is the Indian Railways, or the, gas pipelines or the electricity transmission system, they are crying for reforms. Starting a new train between 2 stations to placate the interested parties is easy, but the maintenance of the age-old tracks, the overhead wires & related equipment is something different. Unless timely & systemic maintenance & up-gradation of equipment takes place, these kind of mishaps will recur.  Only if the GAIL officials did their duty and made the necessary maintenance on time  especially since its summer time and the gas leakage was already detected in the early morning hours, this incident could have been avoided. It is because of their sheer negligence such huge loss of life and property happened. Criminal cases should be registered against the negligent officials.

AP likely to get additional power from Centre

  The negotiations between AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Power Minister Piyush Goel are reported to be successful. He said that his ministry is working on a new project that ensures 500 mw additional power to AP from September this year. He has already declared that Andhra Pradesh has been selected for implementation of pilot project that assures uninterrupted power supply round the clock. Perhaps, this is what he has promised to Chandrababu today during their discussions.   Piyush Goel also asked Chandrababu Naidu to trace out around 10,000 acres for setting-up Solar Power Plant in Andhra Pradesh state. If these two mega projects turn into reality they will be a blessing for the beleaguered state, which is facing acute power shortage.   Union Health Ministry has asked Chandrababu and six other state governments to allocate 2500 acres of land for setting up AIMS like super specialty hospitals in their respective states. According to available information, Chandrababu Naidu has asked the concerned officials of the state to make arrangements for de-notifying the area between Nuziveedu and Khammam districts for setting up these prestigious institutions. Development activities may kick start from any time after September this year.

Crop loans likely to be rescheduled

  All the efforts of ruling TDP government to get financial support to waive off the crop and dwakra loans seems to be in vain. However, Kotaiah Committee constituted to recommend necessary measures in this regard is said to have convinced Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan for rescheduling the loans. According to TDP sources, Chandrababu and his team are trying to get a  two years breather at least by rescheduling the crop loans. If so, farmers need not to pay the current loans and also can avail fresh loans from banks. However, Chandrababu government has to clear these loans within stipulated period. Chandrababu believes that if he can get at least two years breather period, he can easily clear all the dues. Today he is meeting Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitly and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If he could convince them also, most probably crop loans may be rescheduled very soon.

AP shoots letter to Centre on power allocations

  While, the controversy over APGENCO’s proposal to terminate PPAs is still alive, a letter from AP government to Central Power Board seeking additional allocation of power supply from Central Power Plants creates havoc in T-political circles. The state principal secretary wrote a letter to principal secretary of Central Power Board principal secretary asking to justify power allocation to the state. He objects the G.O. No: 20 issued by the Central Board allotting 53.89 percent power supply to Telangana and only 46.11 percent to AP on the basis of consumption. He appeals for allotting 47.88 percent power supply from the Central Power plants.   Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu who is going to meet union minister of power Piyush Goel today evening is likely to stress this point. He may also appeal him to order the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre (SRCLDC), Bangalore to allow termination of PPAs made with Telangana power distribution agencies prior to division of the state. Obviously, all these moves by AP government may irk the T-Government and thus further escalate tensions between two states.  

Shahrukh Khans driver arrested for Rape

      Super star Shahrukh Khan’s driver Rajendrakumar Gautam aka Pintu Mishra (34),was arrested by the Mumbai police for raping a minor girl who was working as a maid in Sangeetha Bijlanis’ ( Mohd Azzharuddin’s estranged wife and Salman Khan’s ex girlfriend in the past). They were in touch since the June 20th and the driver in the pretext of getting her a job in the Super star’s house lured her for some time and took her to a hotel in Mumbai and apparently raped her there. The minor girl who was from Latur, was the only earning member of her family and was devastated and somehow took courage and filed a case in Bandra Police station.   The driver was arrested and has been charged under Section 376 (Rape) of the IPC. He will be produced in the Sessions Court today. Gautam alias Pintu was one of the many drivers of Sharukh Khan’s fleet of cars and it seems that he had taken undue advantage of his status as the badshah’s driver and lured and raped the star struck girl.

9 MLCs and 2 MLAs Join TRS party

In what could be seen as the strengthening of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi  in the state council, two MLAs and 9 MLCs joined the TRS party today. Two  BSP MLAs A. Indrakaran Reddy (Nirmal) and Koneru koanappa (Sirpur Kagaznagar) have joined the TRS along with 9 MLCs from the Congress and other parties   who include Jagadheeshwar Reddy, Bhanu Prasad Rao, Bhoopal Reddy, Rajalingam, KR Amos, Yadava Reddy,Mohan Reddy, Venkateshwarlu and Saleem were given a warm welcome into the party by the Chief Minister of Telangana and TRS party Chief K Chandra Sekhar Rao today afternoon. Congress MLC Bhanu Prasad while speaking at the event today said they were a part of the Congress as they believed that Sonia Gandhi would bring in separate Telangana and that they were joining the TRS only for the further development of the State of Telangana.  

YSRC Party finally gets EC recognition

The Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) party has finally got recognition from the Election Commission of India as a state party in Telangana. In a communiqué  from the Commission’s Under Secretary Pramod Kumar Sharma the recognition was accorded after reviewing the party’s performance in the 2014 Assembly and Parliamentary elections. “The party has fulfilled the conditions laid down under Para 6A of Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order 1968,” said the Commission and the  ‘Fan’ symbol  which will be exclusively allotted to the YSR Congress Party in all elections  will be a recognized symbol henceforth.

Suicide pact by Techie in High Tech city

In what could seem to be a case of murder-cum-suicide pact in the city of Hyderabad, which came to light in the high-end residential apartments of My Home Nawadweepa  which is right next to the Cyber Towers today. A software engineer Mahesh Sahu  from Uttar Pradesh ,his wife  Shwetha  along with their 5 year old son Yash  were found dead in their apartment . The company which Mahesh worked in was checking as to why he had not reported for duty since Monday and when the some employees came to check his house found bad smelling coming from the flat and quickly called the police. The police after breaking the doors  they found his wife and son on the bed in a pool of blood with their wrists slashed and Manish was found hanging nearby. It looked like he had slashed their wrists earlier and had hung himself after killing them. The police are in the process of investigating and the bodies have been sent for post mortem.

4 killed in Orvakallu accident near Kurnool

Four people were killed and several people were injured in  a road accident  near Nannuru in Orvakallu Mandal, Kurnool district . A group of revenue officials and local villagers were on a visit to a site  to survey the land for the proposed NIIT building to come up ,when a lorry laden with sand rammed into the standing officials and villagers killing 5 of them and injuring  a few of them. Revenue Inspector Srinivasulu along with the villagers who have been identified as Sivananda , Gopal and Thimmayya  were those killed in the accident and  a Tahsildar named Santha Bai was grievously injured in the accident.

Andhra and Telangana governments relieved

  Relief to Andhra: Central government intervenes to settle the dispute between Andhra and Telangana governments over release of Krishna River water from Nagarjun Sagar dam to Krishna district. The Central Water Board Chairman AB Pandya has convened a meeting with Chief Secretaries of both states at Hyderabad on Tuesday. Pandya, who is also in-charge chairman of Krishna water board has ordered the Telangana government to release 6 thousand cusecs of water for one week starting from tomorrow. The board members will meet again after one week and take an appropriate decision after reviewing the situation.   Relief to Telangana: AP government’s decision to cancel all the power purchase agreements made with Telangana power distribution companies prior to bifurcation of the state has been withheld by the Southern Power Regulatory Commission today. It decides to follow existing agreements until Centre takes some decision on this issue. Hence, Telangana as usually will get 615mw power supply from APGENCO until Centre will take a decision on this issue.
