Search operations begins 2nd day for the missing students

  Search operations for the 19 missing students in Himachal Pradesh begin again today early morning. Around 450 army personals are participating in the search operations for the remaining 19 students. The search teams are expecting that the bodies may surface at Pando dam, which is 20 km away from the Lajri hydal project. So they are searching there also for the bodies. They fear chances of surviving of any students is remote.   Union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, TDP leaders Malla Reddy, Narayana, T-Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy and several officials from Telangana and Himachal Pradesh government, College staff have been camping near the accident spot since last two days and supervising the search and transport operations.   So far, four bodies (Rambabu, Aishwarya, Lakshmi Gayatri and Vijeta) were recovered and sent to Hyderabad in a special flight. The flight has reached Begumpeta airport yesterday evening and the bodies were handed over to their relatives. Those 24 students, who narrowly escaped from the fatal incident, also returned to Hyderabad in special flight today morning. Telangana minister Mahindar Reddy and several officals of the T-Government are coordinating at Shamshabad airport.   AP Chief Minister Chandrababu, soon after knowing about the incident has asked union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju to co-ordinate the search and transport operations. He also arranged a special flight belong to Air Cotsa for bringing back the students and their relatives to Hyderabad. Chief Ministers of both states Chandrababu and KCR are personally monitoring entire operations.

IITs and IIMs in every State in India

        The President of India in his inaugural address of the Joint Session of the Parliament in Delhi had stated many reforms which the Government of India was planning to do and one major decision in the field of education was to set up the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in every state."We will set up IITs and IIMs in every state. In order to empower school teachers and students, a national e-library will be established," Mukherjee said while addressing the joint session of both houses of parliament. "It (government) will formulate a National Education Policy aimed at meeting the challenges posed by lack of quality, research and innovation in our educational institutions," he added  .This was also a part of the BJP manifesto which was stated during the election and a humongous task to identify proper places in the rest of the states to set up campus , recruitment and other administrative operations involved in setting up these centers and not to forget the time taken for completing proposal needs to be seen.

Smithi Irani responds to Beas tragedy

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani had reached the accident spot in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district where 24 visiting students of a Hyderabad engineering college were washed away in the Beas river in the afternoon. She had assured all possible assistance to the state from the centre for the rescue operations an dhad also contacted the faculty members who were present at the accident site.She had also spoken to the Principal of VNR Vignaan Jyothi Engineering College and assured them of all cooperation in this need of hour. Meanwhile Telangana Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao has ordered for arrangements to be made for the return of the rest of the students from Himachal Pradesh and sent a special team to Himachal Pradesh to oversee the rescue operations which is headed by the Home Minister of Telangana Nayani Narasimha Reddy.

TRS uproar in Lok Sabha

  Telangana Chief Minister KCR, in his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked him to revoke his government’s ordinance on Polavaram Project, with which several tribal villages are submerging. However, Modi is reported to be told him that the matter can be discussed later. So, TRS MPs have made protests in Lok sabha today opposing NDA government’s decision in this regard. Though, there are T-Congress MPs present in the house none of them have joined their protests, because it is their own party has cleared way for Polavaram project.   However, Biju Janata Dal MPs of Odisha have joined them, because Odisha also has similar objections on the project. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, also appealed him not to go ahead on this project. However, he also gets same answer that KCR gets from Modi. So, MPs of both states have staged protests in the Lok Sabha and virtually brings the house proceedings to halt. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has repeatedly appeals them to return to their seats, but when they did not respond to her appeals, she adjourned the house to tomorrow. TRS might be quite to find new friends in the house to continue their fight.

5 bodies recovered -Beas Tragedy

Bodies of 5 students out of the 24 students who were washed away in the Beas  river on Sunday evening were recovered in the early hours today. 24 students of Hyderabad's VNR Vignan Jyothi engineering College were washed away in the Beas  river yesterday evening at around 7 PM ,when they had got down at the banks of the river near Thalot in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh for sightseeing and taking pictures.  The gates of the Larji Hydro Power Project were lifted without any proper intimation and the students were caught unaware of the rising waters and were eventually washed away. Some of the students managed to escape and ran up the banks to safety. Around 50 engineering students along with 3 faculty members left from Hyderabad and had gone for an Industrial tour toHimachal Pradesh as part of their curriculum. Rescue operation were hampered because of the delay in help coming in as it was already late in the evening .Lack of proper signal coverage to inform any one of the tragedy added to the delay in police coming in for help. It seems to be clear case of negligence of the Dam authorities in not sending proper warning signals or hooters to let people know that the gates would be lifted. A wall of water gushed on to the hapless students who were washed away in the flow. A special Air India flight has been arranged for the parents for the students who have drowned in this tragic incident. They will be lodged in AP Bhavan at Delhi and taken in special buses to Himachal Pradesh near Mandi to claim the bodies of the students who drowned in this tragic incident.

Chandrababu to hold first cabinet meeting at Vizag

  Chandrababu Naidu, who takes oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh yesterday, declared that he will hold his first cabinet meeting at Vizag on June 12th. He may take charge of his office today. The first Assembly sessions of Andhra Pradesh state may be held on June 19th. An official announcement is expected to come out after Chandrababu take charge of his office. He is also expected to allot portfolios to all his 19 ministers after taking charge of his office. According to available information China Rajappa and KE Krishna Murthy are likely to be made as Deputy CMs of the state. Yenamala Ramakrishnudu likely to get Finance and Deveneni Uma-Irrigation ministries.

T-Assembly sessions begins from today

  For the first time after Telangana state is formed, Assembly sessions of the state will begin from today morning at 11 am. Senior Congress leader K Janareddy has taken oath as proterm speaker of Assembly and Nethi Vidyasagar as Deputy Chairman of legislative council. During the first two days of Assembly sessions, the newly elected members will take oath. Proterm Speaker K Janareddy will administer their oath taking process. Governor Narasimhan will address members of the both houses on June 11th.

Chandrababu swearing ceremony concluded

  The swearing in ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu cabinet was successfully concluded a short while ago. Governor Narasimhan left the place after administrating the oath taking ceremony of Chandrababu cabinet. Later, union minister M Venkaiah Naidu is introducing union ministers, chief ministers, ministers of other states, political party leaders, NDA alliance partners etc. There is overwhelming response when he introduces power star Pawan Kalyan and Vivek Oberoi.   Home Minister Rajnath Singh is addressing the people right now. He said that Narendra Modi has asked him to reassert the people of Seemandhra that NDA government will extend its full support to Andhra Pradesh state development.   LK Advani thanked Chandrababu for inviting all the NDA leaders to his swearing in ceremony. He congratulates chandrababu on this occassion.

Chandrababu Cabinet Ministers names

  Total 19 MLAs will take oath as ministers along with Chandrababu Naidu today evening. They are:   Achchennaidu (Srikakulam district), Kimidi Mrunalini (ViziangaramP); Ganta Srinivasa rao and Ayyanna Paatrudu (Visakha); Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and China Rajappa (East Godavari); Pitala Sujata (West Godavari); Deveneni Uma and Kollu Ravindrababu (Krishna); Prattipati Pullarao and Ravella Kishore (Guntur); Sidda Raghavarao (Prakasham); Narayana (Nellore); Bojja Gopala Krishna Reddy (Chittoor); KE Krishna Murthy (Kurnool); Paritala Sunita and Palle Raghunbatha Reddy (Anantapur), Kamineni Srinivas and Manikayala rao(BJP).   Since, Balayya has changed his mind and plans to continue with his film professions for few more years, his name was not appeared in the list.

Prakash Javadekar to file RS Nomination from MP

Union minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar will file his nomination as the BJP's Rajya Sabha candidate from  the state of Madhya Pradesh .As per  rules  a minister without a seat in Parliament has to get into either Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha within six months after he or she takes oath of office. A seat is vacant as BJP tribal leader and Rajya Sabha Member from MP  Faggan Singh Kulaste who was sent to the Rajya Sabha two years ago will vacate his seat after winning the  16th Lok Sabha elections from the Mandla constituency. With this Rajya Sabha seat vacant in the state, the BJP will now send Pune born Mr Javadekar from here . Minister of Minority Affairs Mrs Najma Heptullah is also slated to be nominated from Madhya Pradesh in the RS quota. Meanwhile Union Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce & Industry Mrs Nirmala Sitaraman will be nominated from Andhra where one seat became  vacant after the death of seniorCongress leader Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy who died last month.

Congress MLC Chaitanya Raju likely to join TDP

  Congress MLC Chaitanya Raju accompanied by his son Ravi Kiran Varma have met TDP President Chandrababu Naidu today morning and greeted him for going to take charge as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh state tomorrow. They are reported to be expressed interest to join TDP and Chandrababu positively responds to their proposal. Chaitanya Raju is chairman of leading Chaitanya group of educational institutes. He tried to contest in Rajya Sabha elections held few months ago, but was forced to drop by the then CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. He and his son may join TDP any time after Chandrababu forms government in the state.

Errabelli likely to lead T-TDP legislatures

  According to latest reports, Chandrababu Naidu has nominated party senior leader Errabelli Dayakar rao as the Chairman of TDP Telangana legislative party. Talasani Yadav has been nominated as party floor leader in Telangana Assembly. Revanth Reddy and R. Krishnaiah are nominated as deputy floor leaders in the state Assembly. Gandra Venkat Veraiah has been nominated as party whip in Telangana Assembly. Narasa Reddy has been nominated as party floor leader in state legislative counsel. An official announcement confirming their nominations may come out any time before today evening from TDP.

Babu invites Jagan to swearing in ceremony

  Chandrababu Naidu personally invites his political rival YCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy to his swearing in ceremony slated for June 8th. Jagan also congratulates him for winning the elections. Yesterday he said that he will attend the function only if it is conducted in an official manner but not if conducted like a party meeting of TDP.  However, it is not clear whether he has agreed to attend the function.  

Jana Reddy is Telangana Pro-tem Speaker

Senior Congress Leader and former Home Minister and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mr K. Jana Reddy, will be the Protem Speaker of the House of the Maiden Telangana Assembly session which will start from June 9th . He will be appointed and administered the oath of office by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on the same day, before the commencement of the session. The Pro-tem speaker is appointed from a list of senior most MLAs and leaders of the House and the 7 time MLA from Nalgonda has been chosen from the list. He will act as the Speaker of the House administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs of Telangana state and officiate till a new speaker is elected.

Probable 11 Ministers in Naidus cabinet

Preparations for the swearing in ceremony of Andhra CM designate Mr Chandra Babu Naidu which is going to take place at  7.27 pm on June 8 at Nagarjuna Nagar, located between Vijayawada and Guntur  are in full swing. What could turn to be an ostentatious ceremony with who’s who of the Andhra being called in for the ceremony, news is that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might be giving it a miss as he would be returning from his Delhi visit. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi will also not make it as he has to deliver the Inaugural Speech in the Parliament session on the same day. Around 5 lakh people are expected to come for the historic ceremony.Actors Pawan Kalyan and Rajinikanth are also slated to come for the event which could turn out to be starry affair.   Meanwhile  a tentative list of ministers who would probably be swearing in along with his has come out and they include Gowthu Shyama Sundara Shivaji, Pathivada, Narayana Swamy Naidu, Ayyana Pathrudu , Yanamala Ramakrishnudu , Peethala Sujatha , Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao , Kodela Siva Prasad Rao ,Siddha Raghava Rao, P. Narayana ,Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy  and K E Krishna Murthy. N Chinna Rajappa could be the  Deputy Chief Minister .

Rape…it happens some time says BJP Minister

  While, the growing rape incidents are giving night mares to Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, the main opposition party BJP in the state is trying to gain some political mileage out of these incidents. State BJP leaders while intensifying their attacks on Akhilesh government, also insist the Centre to intervene and take action on Akhilesh government. Home Ministry has asked the governor of the state to send a report on the incidents so as it can intervene.   While, BJP is trying to corner ruling Samajawadi government, Babulal Gaur, the home minister of ruling BJP government of Madhya Pradesh, has come to rescue of Akhilesh government. Gaur, being a home minister is expected to strongly condemn such heinous crimes, but he says “This is a social crime which depends on men and women. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong, often it happens when the men loses their mental balance. Until there's a complaint, nothing can happen. He (Akhilesh) is doing whatever he can do, what else any one can expect from him?” This comes as shocker for BJP, which is blaming Akhilesh government for failing to ensure safety of the women in the state. While it is crossing swords with Akhilesh government, a home minister belong to BJP is seen defending him. Probably, BJP may be obliged to sack its own home minister Babulal Gaur before thinking about anyone else.

Another incident of Gang rape on 2 minors in UP

After the rape of the two cousin sisters in Badauan village a few days ago, there  has been a spurt of rape cases happening in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav seems to have no explanation nor has he been able to curb this violence which is taking a horrific turn day by day.   Today three men have allegedly raped two minor girls aged 15 and 13 as they were going to a wheat mill in Etah ,UP. The road they were walking was desolated and the three accused as Rajpal, Mahipal and Sanjay dragged them into the bushes and raped them. The incident took place under the Baghwala Police Station, and the UP Police have registered a case under IPC Section 376 and POSCO Act. CM AkhileshYadav has been facing severe criticism for his indifferent attitude and the failure of the Govt. machinery in curbing these incidents.

Sumitra Mahajan elected as LS Speaker

  The senior most parliamentarian Sumitra Mahajan was elected as speaker of Lok Sabha today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed her name and it was supported by party senior leader LK Advani. Total 13 Leaders from ruling NDA and opposition parties have made similar motions proposing her name, which were approved by the members. Later, she has been escorted to her Chair by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LK Advani, opposition leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Mulayam Singh Yadav and many others.   Sumitra Mahajan (71) was born on 1943 in Chiplun of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra. She enters into politics as municipal corporator in 1982. She won Lok Sabha seat from Indore for eight consecutive times, including in the latest elections. She served Vajpayee government as minister of state for Human Resources, Communications and IT and Petroleum and Natural Gas.
