AP Ministers to take charge today

  Minister of Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes and Assembly Affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Minister of IT, Information and Public relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy will take charge of their office today as they both were allotted chambers in South H block in secretariat. While Yenamala gets Chamber No: 301, Raghunatha Reddy gets Chamber No: 310 in H block. Rest of the ministers is also expected to take charge of their offices soon, as all of they were also allotted Chambers in secretariat yesterday. Though CM Chandrababu begins his work soon after his party elected to power, he also not yet takes charge of his office in secretariat.

What is the fate of SK Committee report?

  The Shivarama Krishnanan Committee constituted by UPA government is intended to find out a perfect location for building new capital city to the state of Andhra Pradesh. The members of the committee have met AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday at Hyderabad. They have explained him about their findings in this regard and also gave power point presentation on it. Later they took his opinion and suggestions on this issue, so that they can add it in their report that is to be submitted to government of India.   However, like many other committee reports, this report also may be scrapped, because Chandrababu has already made-up his mind to build capital between Vijayawada and Guntur cities. However, if he finds there are any suggestions worth considering, he may think about them. Chandrababu may have the choice to decide where to build the capital of the state. In such case, if he prefers to his own choice, it is to be understood the committee report will be thrown into dust bin by NDA government.

Complaint lodged against web site owners

  Sharmila’s role in keeping YSR Congress party intact, when her brother Jagan was jailed for 18 months is really commendable. She did rare feat of walking 3000 km for it, that no woman on the earth ever dare to do for her brother. Even her role in campaigning for the party and for her brother during elections period is praise worthy. Those who oppose YCP may criticize her speeches or her party policies, but it doesn’t mean that they can take her granted for posting morphed photographs of her in social network sites and even in some web sites.   Today YCP leaders YV Subba Reddy and Somayajulu have lodged a complaint with Hyderabad city police commissioner Mahendar Reddy against those web sites and its owners for posting abusive content and morphed photographs of Sharmila linking her with Tollywood actor Prabhas. They urged him to take sting actions against the mischievous web site owners and block such websites. They have lodged complaint on behalf of YS Sharmila. According to latest reports, police have nabbed two different web site owners Sripathi Naresh and Jannapureddy Karthik.

AP alarmed with reports on Special Status

  People and political parties of AP and also the AP government turned panic after hearing the news reports about union minister for Planning Indrajit Singh stating AP is not entitled to get special status. The next moment this news hits the state, sharp reactions begins in the state. Political parties condemn the union minister’s statement and start demanding NDA government to immediately respond on this issue.   AP social welfare Minister Ravella Kishore has stated that there are several factors like lack of capital, lack of infrastructure to run the government, huge deficit budget etc. that entitle the state to have special status.   Therefore, NDA government also swiftly reacted to pacify the people and state government. Planning Commission officials have stated that no decision was taken on granting special status to AP. Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who is currently at Vizag, said there is no need to become panic with the reports. He assured that NDA government will leave no stone left unturned to accord special status to AP. He said it is just a matter of time and so appealed the people and political parties not to be panic over this issue. He said that being from AP he will do his best to get special status to the state and also all possible help to Andhra and Telangana states. He said both states should think about development setting aside their differences.

Telangana Shakunthala died

  Veteran Tollywood actress Telangana Shakunthala died with heart attack Narayana Hrudayalaya, Hyderabad yesterday late night. Shakunthala was actually Maharashtrian and so her mother tongue is Marathi, but she become famous as Telangana Shakunthala because of her excellent command over Telangana accent. Telugu people believed that she is perfect successor of veteran actress Suryakantham, who did a wide range of characters in hundreds of Telugu films.   Shakunthala begins her film career in Tollywood with Maa Bhoomi in 1981 and did her last film Pandavulu Pandavulu Tumeda in 2014. She did more than 70 films in her three decades association with Telugu Film Industry. Films Nuvvu Nenu, Okkadu, Lakshmi, Neeku Naaku, Maa Naanna Chiranjeevi, Rajanna and many other films stood as testimony for her marvelous acting skills as character artist and as a most powerful lady villain. Her funeral may be conducted at Hyderabad, today afternoon.                                                                                                                                                            

Balayya babu in development mode

  Balakrishna, who plans to continue in his film profession for a couple of years, is reluctant to take up any minister post in Chandrababu cabinet. However, he promised that he will always make himself available to people of his constituency and put efforts for the development of his Hindupur.   As he promised, today he performed Bhoomi Puja at as many as 9 places in his constituency for setting up mineral water plants under NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme that provides safe drinking water to the people at nominal price. He also launched the road widening works between Hindupur and Somdevapalli with an estimated cost of Rs.10 crores. He also promised that he will ask Chandrababu Naidu to grant funds for constructing an overhead tank and a government hospital in Hindupur.

Nawaz return gift to Modi

  It was hardly two week when Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shakes hands with India Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi. Before coming to India, he let the 54 Indian prisoners released from Pakistan jails as a goodwill gesture. Then he promised Modi that he will leave no stone left unturned to improve the bilateral relations between two countries. Later they both exchanged some gifts also. But, Nawaz Sharif seems couldn’t maintain that spirits for more than a fortnight.   Pakistani troopsviolating the seize fire agreement,  have been firing at India posts across LoC near Mandher in Jammu Kashmir since last 48 hours forcing India troops to retaliate. It came to know that Pakistani troops, which begin the fireworks two days ago, have suddenly stopped few hours ago. One India soldier was killed and around six reported to be injured in cross firing.   Is Pakistan expecting that negotiations on bilateral issues can be continued in the backdrop gun battle at LoC? Pakistan itself is very heavily paying for letting the terror activities on its soil. The recent attacks on Karachi airport by Taliban terrorists in a gap 48 hours is a fine example for it. Therefore, it should at least try to reach out the friendship hand of India wholeheartedly.

Katasani jumps fence, but very late

  Former MLA Katasani Ram Bhupal Reddy is one of the senior most leaders of Congress party. He has been associated with party for the last three decades. He quits party and joined BJP in the presence of union minister M Venkaiah Naidu at party office in New Delhi yesterday. Later speaking to media he said that he has joined BJP because he likes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s working style.   However, it can be understood that he has jumped fence not because of the reason he is stating but he foresees Congress future is blink. He might have realized that Congress party may not come to power even after five years, because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to maintain the same pace and spirits in developing the country. Hence, many leaders of Congress and YCP may follow Katasani foot steps in the days to come.   However, if Katasani would have taken this decision to join BJP before the general elections, he could get the full advantage of jumping fence. Though, his future is assured with BJP, right now he may not expect anything from NDA government. Katasani, who contested as independent candidate from Panyam in Kurnool district was defeated in the hands of Gour Charita of YCP.

Two more bodies recovered

  The search for the missing students in Beas River is still continuing for the 4th day today. Today two more bodies of were recovered. They were identified as Arvind and Upendar. Arvind was from Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad and Upendar hails from Palwancha in Kammam district. So far eight bodies recovered out of 24 and search is still continuing. Gradually parents and relatives of the missing students are also losing hope on survival of their children and indeed it is a painful waiting for receiving the dead bodies of their beloved children.

CM Jayalalitha launches Amma Salt

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has launched salt for the public under the name "Amma Salt" at a subsidised price. The latest product to hit Tamil Nadu which is a product of the  Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation Limited (TNSC) under ageis of the State industries department.The salt is said to be available in three types- double fortified, refined freeflow iodised and low sodium. This is apart from the Amma Canteens which offer meals at subsidized rates and Amma Mineral water which is targeted at the lower income grade people. Dr.J.Jayalaitha called as "Amma" by Tamilians around the world has launched many welfare schemes since she came to power as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third term. Free laptops for aspiring  government students , the 20kg free  rice distribution scheme for the poor, pension for the transgenders and various other schemes have become quite popular with the public.

Save the Temples Short Film Festival

  With an endeavour to protect and save Hindu temples the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation founder President Dr.Velagapudi Prakash Rao and its the brand ambassador and famous Ghazal singer Dr Ghazal Srinivas have decided to hold a Short film Festival titled “Save Temples International Short Film Festival”. Is Jagan really a psycho?

  TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, several times has stated that YSR Congress party President Jagan Mohan Reddy is a psycho. Those leaders, who left YCP also used to make similar allegations against him. Now, Dadi Veerabhadra rao, who quits YSR Congress party on Wednesday, also alleges that Jagan Mohan Reddy behaves like dictator and is a headstrong person. He alleges that Jagan never consults anyone in the party while taking crucial decisions and not even trusts his own mother and sister. Perhaps, YCP leaders may strongly condemn his allegations and may fiercely attack him and defend their president Jagan Mohan Reddy, but his allegations strengthens, what all others so far have stated about the peculiar nature of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Venkaiah Naidu stresses for new railway zone to AP

  Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Vizag BJP MP K Haribabu have talked to union Railways Minister Sadananda Goud and Railways Chiarman Arunendra Kumar at Naidu’s office in parliament yesterday. They both urged Railways Minister and Chiarman to consider Visakhapatnam for the new Railway zone to be granted to Andhra Pradesh state.   They argued that it would be ideal location for a new Railway zone and would be wise decision for decentralization of development activities from the new capital. They also asked them to rename the present Waltair zone as Visakhapatnam zone and merge it with the new Railway zone. They also bring to their notice that some trains are passing via Duvvada station without touching Visakha station. They appealed such trains should be passed via Visakhapatnam Railway station.

  Finally, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has dropped curtains on speculations about alloting portfolios to his 19 ministers, who take oath along with him on June 8th. Power Cuts and Crisis in Delhi

Union power minister Piyush Goyal  squarely blamed the previous Government for the inaction for not taking proper measures to control the power crisis which built up over the past 15 years.We are suffering because of the inaction of the previous government is what he said before  holding an  emergency meeting with Delhi's lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung and other top officials over the power crisis in the national capital. Residents across the national capital continued to reel under long outages on Monday, even as the heat wave showed no signs of abating. Delhi on Monday sizzled at 45.5 degrees celsius .Mr Goyal said a deadline of 10 days has been set to restore three major power lines that were damaged during a recent dust-storm. As part of the measures to curtail excessive and unnecessary usage of power ,Delhi malls were told they will not receive power after 10 pm and street lamps will be switched off at the same time for three hours. Government establishments, including Delhi Secretariat and other government offices, universities, colleges have been advised to switch off air conditioning between 3.30 and 4.30 pm to conserve power during day peak hours. Meanwhile natural gas from Dabhol power plant in Maharashtra will be diverted to generation stations to help produce an additional 218 MW of electricity for Delhi.

Chandrababu First Cabinet Meeting in AU

  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will hold his first cabinet meeting in TLN Reddy auditorium in Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on June 12th from 10 am to 2 pm. Before that, first he will visit Simhachalam Temple and offer prayers to Lord Appanna Swamy. Later, he will hold series of meetings with higher officials of government and party leaders till 7pm. Then he will return to Hyderabad on the same day night.   Chandrababu holds one to one meeting with his ministers today at Hyderabad for taking their views on portfolios allocation. However, he has not finalized portfolios to them. He is likely to allot by today evening or tomorrow morning. Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao said that Chandrababu insisted them to do team work and should meet at least 80 percent of people’s aspirations. He said that Chandrababu has set 3 months’ time to prove themselves otherwise will be replaced. He said that some portfolios will be merged to reduce the financial burden on the government and for taking swift decisions.

Madhusudhanachary elected as T-Speaker

  S Madhusudhana achari, TRS MLA from Bhuplapalli has been unanimously elected as the first Speaker of Telangana state Assembly today. Protem Speaker K Jana Reddy declares him elected unopposed as no one has filed nomination for Speaker post. Madhusudhana Achari also gets full support from opposition parties. Madhusudhana Achari has been actively participating in Telangana agitations for the last one decade working together with TRS President KCR. Madhusudhana Achari has been escorted to his Chair by Chief Minister KCR, opposition leaders of the house. KCR thanked him for his support extended during all these years. He also thanked opposition parties for letting him unanimously elected.

Chandrababu insists ministers for team work

  Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao said that Chandrababu has conducted one to one meeting with every minister and stressed the need for team work for the speedy development of the state and to meet the demands of people. He said that Chandrababu has told them that he will review the performance of each and every minister after three months and if found not satisfactory, will be removed from cabinet. Chandrababu asked the ministers that they have to work to satisfy at least 80 percent of the people with their work, said Minister Ganta.   He further says that every one of them is ready to do their part of job irrespective of portfolios and their importance. He said that he will co-ordinate with Ayyannapatrudu, who is also from his Visakhapatnam district. He said that Mahanadu meetings have been conducted in Hyderabad, TDLP meeting in Tirupati, swearing in ceremony in Guntur and now the cabinet meeting to be held at Visakhapatnam. He said it is a clear indication how Chandrababu wants to spread the administration and growth to all over the state. He said Chandrababu is planning to launch NTR Srujala Sravanthi scheme from Anantapur district.   Another Minister Bojjala Gopala Krishna said that Chandrababu exercising to reduce the present 60 portfolios to just 22 so as to reduce the financial burden on the government and for taking speedy decisions.

Taliban once again attack Karachi airport

  Taliban terrorists, who attacked Karachi airport 24 hours ago, have once again attacked the airport today also. Currently, heavy gun battle is continuing between terrorists and Pakistani commandos. According to reports, so far seven terrorists were killed in the gun battle and five were caught alive by security forces. All the1 planes slated to land at Karachi airport have been diverted to other airports and planes scheduled to take off have been cancelled. According to reports, still some terrorists are hiding inside the airport. Pakistan security forces have surrounded the airport.
