  • Passengers wait inside Air India flight for 5hours

    Air India made around 200 passengers travelling to Bangkok spend more than 5 hours inside the aircraft owing to a last minute snag that could not be corrected due to lack of technicians availability. The flight was scheduled for take-off at 1:30 am, but did not do so until 5 in the morning. They passengers who became restless were then disembarked and asked to stay at the terminal. At around 11 am, the AI crew told passengers that the flight was rescheduled to 7:30 pm which is approximately 18 hours behind its original take off time.

    Modi a Global leader: Jaggi Vasudev

    Prime Minister Modi has been receiving a lot of accolades from leaders all across the world after his historic speech to the US congress. The latest person to talk about it is spiritual leader Jaggi Vasudev. He has said that the people have high expectations from the Modi, who has now become a global leader. He said this on a Tv show. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a global leader. Looking at the enthusiasm among the Americans, one can say that the people have lot of expectations from him." 

    Pak cop beats Hindu for eating before Iftaar

    In a horrific incident, a Pakistan police constable beat a Hindu man, aged over 80 years, for eating and selling food before Iftaar in Ramzaan, triggering a social media campaign calling for justice for the elderly man. He has been arrested later. Social and civil right activists as well as ordinary citizens criticised the brutal act by the policeman in their social media posts and demanded exemplary punishment f

    In a first of its kind change in the dress codes of students, more than 80 schools in UK have come up with “gender neutral” uniforms, allowing boys to wear skirts and girls don trousers if they prefer to do so. This as part of Britain’s new government funded drive for educational institutions to be more sensitive to “trans” children. 

    May 2015 was bloodiest; 14K deaths on roads

    Indian roads are yet to be made safer for the commuters. There is yet another shocking statistic which has come to light with regards to how unsafe our roads are. May and March have been the cruelest months on roads  accounting for nearly 18 per cent of mishaps in each of the past two years, with May 2015 alone seeing 14,000 deaths. In May last year more than 14,000 people were killed and over 47,000 injured in 46,247 crashes. The number of accidents in May constitute more than 9 per cent of the total over 5 lakh road accidents throughout 2015 in which 1.46 lakh were killed and over 5 lakh injured.

    Another Nirbhaya in Delhi, Woman gangraped

    In a repeat of the horrific incident of Nirbhaya in Delhi, a girl was gangraped in a moving car. A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was abducted and raped by three men in a Swift car and was later dumped on road. In her statement, she said the men took her around for over two hours, touched her inappropriately and when she tried to escape, she was raped,” a senior police officer said.

    Audi car suddenly burst into flames in Delhi

    It was almost like a second shot at life for a 32 year old businessman in Delhi. He had a close shave after the Audi car he was driving suddenly caught fire and was burnt into ashes within seconds in northwest Delhi on Saturday. When he saw smoke coming out from the bonnet of his car. He stopped the vehicle and stepped out. When the opened the lid of the bonnet, he saw flames and within minutes the car was burnt.  

    87 yrs Lady fights drug menace in Punjab

    The Udtha Punjab controversy has paved way to a lot of issues related to rampant drug abuse in Punjab coming to light. This time it is a news an 87 year old lady doctor who is fighting the drug menace in the state, in spite of her failing health. Dr Saroj Sanan was 66-year-old when she set up Red Cross Society De-addiction Centre in the heart of the city and rendered it her services for free till 2012, the year the centre was shut down for want of funds. Until four years ago, she was treating addicts; now, she is busy writing a book on how to take care of addicts and wants it to be available to the people for free.

    China is the biggest abuser says Trump

    US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has come up with yet another controversial statement. This time targeting China. He has alleged that China is the "biggest and best abuser" as it was dumping its goods into the US, stealing intellectual property and imposing hefty taxes on American companies doing business in that country. "China is the biggest and best abuser. Mexico is a smaller version of China," Trump told his supporters.

    BJP wins 12 RS seats, Congress wins 6

    After the dramatic voting session for the Rajya Sabha seats got concluded. The results seemed to be helping BJP narrow the gap in RS. The Congress won six seats in the Rajya Sabha polls on Saturday but it was the BJP-led alliance that made significant gains with 12 seats. Out of the 58 seats that fell vacant in the Upper House this summer, the NDA has now won 23, improving upon the 18 seats it held earlier. The Congress, which held 15 of these seats, now has nine.

    Delhi hospitals fined Rs 600Cr for refusing treatment

    Some of the top hospitals in Delhi, including Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Max Super Specialty Hospital, have been heavily fined by the government for refusing treatment to the poor. The additional director in the Health Department, said five hospitals were provided lands at concessional rates between 1960 and 1990 on the condition that they will treat the poor free of cost. And as they failed to do so they have been levied a fine of Rs. 600 Crores.  

    Delhi restaurant denies entry to street kids

    A Delhi restaurant has got into trouble after refusing to serve a group street children when a lady has taken them to have a meal there. The Delhi government has ordered an investigation and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Manish Sisodia said it might even lose its license. The children were taken to the restaurant by a woman, who was celebrating her husband's birthday.  

    KL Rahul creates history for India

    Karnataka player KL Rahul created history on Saturday when he became the first Indian to score a hundred on One-Day International debut. Overall, he became the 11th player to achieve the feat on debut. Rahul took 115 balls to reach the landmark as he steadily took India to the finish line, chasing 169 for a win in the first ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare. His knock had seven fours and a one six that was also the winning runs for the visiting side.

    Shooting at a US gay nightclub,many injured

    According to local media reports number of people were reported to have been shot early on Sunday at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The violence erupted at the nightclub and the owners of the nightclub urged people in the club to “get out” and “keep running", in a post on its Facebook page. A number of people, ranging from seven to as many as 20, had been shot but there were no confirmed deaths as yet. It is also being reported that a number of people have been held hostage by the shooter in the club.

One such person, a Canadian Engineer created a device to help us breath better, inspired by Yoga. 22-year-old Cindy Gu, has created a smart belt coupled with a mobile app that found its “inspiration” in pranayama, a basic aspect of yoga. The belt, understands the user’s breathing pattern and when there are irregularities in that pattern, that’s when the device will signal to the user with a feedback. 

    Saina Nehwal Wins Australian Open Title

    India's badminton sensation Saina Nehwal won her first title of the season in Sydney on Sunday, beating China’s Sun Yu in three games to claim the $750,000 Australian Open Super Series. Saina won 11-21, 21-14, 21-19 in an encounter that lasted 1 hour, 12 minutes. The 2012 London Olympics bronze medal winner now has two wins at the Australian Open in the past three years.

    Kanhaiya's Sedition clips authentic:Police

    In a new twist to the Kanhaiya controversy police on Saturday claimed that the video footage of the controversial 9 February JNU event, on which a sedition case was registered against JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar and two others, has been found to be "authentic" by the CBI forensic lab. "The CBI lab sent a report to Delhi Police's Special Cell on 8 June saying the raw footage was authentic," a police source said.

    Champions trophy Hockey:India Beat England

    Indian hockey team beat Great Britain 2-1 to clinch victory in the 36th Champions Trophy on Saturday, putting them at the top of the league standings with four points. Against Germany, on Friday, India had drawn 3-3 and with the victory against Great Britain they now top the table with four points. India opened their scoring through Mandeep Singh (17th minute) with Harmanpreet Singh getting the second goal (34th minute).

    Rs 1,411Cr of Mallya's properties attached by ED

    Properties worth over Rs 1,411 crore have been attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday, in the IDBI Bank loan default case. The assets under "provisional attachment" included bank balance of Rs 34 crore, a flat each in Bengaluru and Mumbai (2,291 sqft and 1,300 sqft respectively), an industrial plot in Chennai (4.5 acres), a coffee plantation land in Coorg (28.75 acres) and residential and commercial constructed areas in UB CITY and Kingfisher Tower in Bengaluru (84,0279 sqft).
