Is T issue a personal matter to decide on Birthdays

Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana is one among the few leaders, who now and then makes odd statements before the media. In his recent visit to Vizag, he said that even minister Ganta Srinivasa rao is also in favor of separate Telangana state. He said, Srinivasa rao would have absconded him, if he really oppose him and favors Samaikyandhra.   He makes Srinivasa rao very much embarrassed, who is standing beside him while making this statement. Srinivasa rao, later speaking to media has stated that, he just accompanied the union minister only because he honors him, but it doesn’t mean that he is favoring division of the state. He said he is firm with his Samaikyandhra stand and there is no change in it.   Later, during his speech at Telangana Sadhana Sabha held at Hyderabad yesterday, Sarve Satyanarayana described Jana Reddy as the father figure for Telangana agitations in the Congress party, where as many in the party and out side branded him as pure opportunist leader. But, later, Sarve might have realized what is the people’s opinion on Jana Reddy, when some one from the audiences has thrown chappal on him, while giving his speech from the same dais.   Then, Sarve reminded that he and some other leaders of the party have compelled their leader Sonia Gandhi to make a favorable announcement on Telangana issue on the eve of her birthday in year 2009 and the same day evening a statement was made as a birthday gift to the people of Telangana. But the party has to put it on hold due to some unpredicted political developments that every one knows about.   Sarve should explain, whether the burning Telangana issue that is related to 4.5 crore of people’s sentiments is just a personal matter to take decisions on the eve of anyone’s birthday?

Did the government needs a wake-up call on Saudi ‘Nitaqat’

Saudi Arabia’s ‘Nitaqat’ law makes it mandatory for local companies to hire one Saudi national for every 10 migrant workers. Hence, it obviously elbows out thousands of Indian labor, especially the illegal migrants in the country. Saudi government has asked the local companies to name such illegal migrants voluntarily or face legal actions. It orders such workers to return to their home countries within three months. However, Saudi government has given two months grace period upon the requests of several countries. Even then, if they fail to leave the country, then they will have to face the legal actions and likely to be jailed for years for violating the orders.   Indian labor, who mainly forms the work force of the country will be the first affected with this Nitaqat order. Many Indian labor cheated by the brokers and agents have landed in the gulf countries are working in miserable conditions without having any valid visa or permissions from the governments. Saudi is one among the gulf countries that has been providing employment to Indians for decades.   However, its latest Nitaqat law puts thousands of Indian labor on edge as many of them neither have enough money to buy the plane tickets nor can afford to return home without clearing the loans that they have taken to reach there. So, their situation is grim. But, it is evident that Saudi government once decided on any matter there will be no turn around on it at any circumstances.   So, Kerala and Tamilnadu governments have started their efforts to ensure safe return of their people. Kerala government even created a special department committee for smooth handling of this matter. Now, it is time for Andhra government to wake-up and react to the situation, before it’s too late.   The people of the state would be happy to see if the Congress and TDP, which have fought an ugly fight to transport the stranded passengers at Dehradoon airport yesterday, could show same spirits in transporting the workers from Saudi Arabia.
