Police boss under CBI radar

  In compliance to Supreme Court order CBI has registered preliminary enquiry into allegations of possession of disproportionate assets by AP DGP Dinesh Reddy. The Supreme Court on September 6 ordered a CBI probe against the Director-General of Police, V. Dinesh Reddy, on the allegations of acquiring disproportionate assets in his name and in the names of his family members. A Bench of justices B.S. Chauhan and S.A. Bobde said, "The CBI shall submit the status report to this court within four months.” The  Bench pointed out that the State took the courage to flout the order of the Central Government and did not look into the contents of the complaint and misdirected the enquiry against Umesh Kumar who was appellant. While there have been allegations doing rounds in power circuits of the state About the preferential treatment being given to Dinesh Reddy, this CBI enquiry comes as a jolt to police boss. Sources close to headquarters say that DGP has been trying hard to pull strings seeking extension. After recent controversy involving DGP over his visit to Goldman Habib Mujtaba Al Aydaroos Baba cases were registered against media houses.

Jagan’s bail case adjourned to 23rd

  The arguments on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail petition were over and the court adjourns the case to 23rd of this month. In wake of the change in political situation in the state, there were several speculations on his bail petition.   While, YSRCP has been arguing that TDP is lobbying at Delhi to influence the Center from granting bail to Jagan Mohan Reddy, TDP alleges that YSRCP has had a secret pact with Congress party, so his release from jail is just a matter of time. So, some curiosity developed in the people on how CBI is going to react to his bail petition.   However, as usually CBI has argued that Jagan shouldn’t be granted bail now as its investigation reached a crucial point. It argues that Jagan is most influential person and if he is released he is going to influence the investigation. It argues that Supreme Court has not recommends for his bail, but suggested him that he can approach the trial court for bail after four months. So, it is not mandatory for the trial court to grant bail to him, argued CBI lawyers. The court adjourns the case to 23rd of this month.

We don’t need YSRCP Bonus: Ashok Babu

  YSRCP honorary president Vijayamma has offered wages for the strike period and also bonus to AP NGOs, if her party is elected to power.   Responding on her offer, AP NGO unions’ president P.Ashok babu said “We don’t understand how you are offering bonus to us, while you are demanding for equal justice both regions. In such case you have to pay bonus to our Telangana colleagues also. We are fighting for Samaikyandhra and not for equal justice. So, we don’t need your bonus.”

Will Geeta Reddy resign?

  Two chargesheets filed by CBI in Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal assets case. Fresh chargesheets name Geeta Reddy along with former ministers Sabita Indira Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao. These chargesheets concern land allotment of Lepakshi knowledge hub and investments in return for the land for Indu Projects. It was seen that  Sabita Indira Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao had to quit from their cabinet posts after their names figured in chargesheets. With Geeta Reddy's name listed as accused in chargesheet filed by CBI the buzz in  state political circles is that same fate would be meted out to Geeta Reddy who is currently handling home portfolio apart form industries in state cabinet. sources highly placed in CBI say that this is the last chargesheet in Jagan Mohan Reddy case. With these chargesheets a total ten chargesheets have been filed. While sources within Congress are surprised as to how  IT minister Ponnala Lakshmiah and Kanna Lakshminarayana names have not figured in these chargesheets even as they were questioned by CBI were under the radar for sometime now.

CBI Vs. Jagan Mohan Reddy: bail round

  CBI will file a counter to Jagan Mohan Reddys bail petition on September 18. The Kadapa MP had on september 11 moved the special CBI court seeking bail on the ground that the four-month deadline set by the Supreme Court for completion of investigation by the CBI into the case against him ended on September 9.In the bail plea, filed through his counsel, Jagan said that in view of the ongoing agitation in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions regarding bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, there was a need for him to be with the people and lead the stir as a leader of a political party.    CBI has been opposing Kadapa MP's bail on the pretext that he will tamper with evidence using his "muscle power and money power."    However with Congress in a political doldrums in state post CWC decision on state bifurcation political class has been hinting at possible talks of deals between Congress and YSRCP. While Jagan's bail being a contentious part of the deal. With the allegations of CBI playing at the tunes of Congress, It is now to wait and watch as to what would be CBI's strategy while filing the counter to Jagan's bail.

Are the RTC Employees going to end the strike

  Negotiations between RTC employees and Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana are currently taking place at Hyderabad. During their previous meeting with the Minister, they told him that they are ready to discontinue the strike, if the government is ready to merge the RTC into it as one of its department. Then the minister asks for time to think about their proposal. Hence, today’s meeting is very significant.   However, since the state is ready for division, Botsa may not be able assure them for their demand. But, the month long strike weakens the financial position of the RTC employees. The High Court warnings to NGOs may also have its influence on the RTC employees to compromise with the government and withdraw from strike. In such case, it is going to crack the month long AP NGOs indefinite strike and may oblige the other unions to sit for negotiations with the government.

Rayapati likely to launch new party

  Guntur Congress MP Rayapati Sambhasiva rao, who is not happy with party decision is going to New Delhi to convince the high command to revoke its stand on bifurcation. Speaking to media he said if state is divided then he may launch a new political party in Seemandhra. Before leaving for New Delhi, he is meeting CM Kiran Kumar Reddy to discuss the action plan. Rayapati said party may revoke its decision only when all the Seemandhra MLAs, MPs, state and Central ministers quit their posts protesting its decision.

Its Modi’s Happy Birth Day today

  BJP Prime Ministerial candidate and current Gujarat CM Narendra Modi turns 64 on Tuesday. Hence, BJP cadres across the country are grandly celebrating his Birth Day today. On this eve, speaking to media he said the blessings of people won’t go waste. He thanked the party and the people for extending their support to him. He gave a new slogan ‘Sramaveya Jayathe’ on this occasion, which means hard work only pays. He greets the working force of the country on this occasion. Probably, he might be hinting that if he is able to take charge as Prime Minister of the country, his priority would be manufacturing sector, with which he wants to stabilize the economic situation of the country.   Modi was born to Damodar Das Muchand Modi and Heeraben on 17th September, 1950 in Vadnagar in Mehsana district (in the then Maharashtra state) Gujarat state. He completed his schooling at Vadnagar. Later he starts working in the staff canteen of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Then he left the job after coming into contact with RSS and took training at Nagapur. In the mean he also completed his Master’s degree in political sciences from Gujarat University.   His work in RSS in different levels has brought him close to top BJP leaders like LK Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Later he shifted to New Delhi and became General Secretary of the party. In 1998 Modi was promoted as National Secretary of the party. His strategy for the 1998 Gujarat elections has made Keshubhai Patel won the elections. Then Modi became CM of the state on 7th October, 2001 in a quite crisis situation, but proved his mettle in no time. Communal riots occurred in the state in 2002 leaves a stained mark on his political career. However, his efficient administration has earned him CM Chair for three consequent times.   Recently, BJP has declared him as its Prime Ministerial candidate. If, Modi could lead the party to success in the forthcoming elections, he will attain peak of his political career.   Happy Birthday to Narendra Modi.

Owaisi stopped from entering riot hit Muzzafarnagar

      MIM mp assaduddin owaisi has been stopped at Lucknow, UP. He was on his way to riot hit Muzzarfanagar to provide relief material and meet riot victims. District magistrate said that they haven't given permission for owaisi visit, however maintained it will be decided this saturday.

      Union minister kaavuri sambhasiva rao faces the heat in his constituency. Kavuri who received a red carpet welcome after he was sworn in as minister was shown black flags this time in west godavari. Kaavuri is on a official visit to his constituency. Huge protests were seen outside his camp office in bheemadolu, west godavari. Tdp mla chintamaneni prabhakar with his followers blocked kavuris convoy staging a sit in dharna in front of his convoy. Meanwhile, APNGOS, student leaders and road transport leaders staged protests outside his campoffice demanding kavuri resignation. The situation remains to be volatile while police has put heavy barricades and deployed police across the district.

AP government challenges high court order

      AP Government challenge High Court order which set aside the compensation paid to Muslim youth wrongly arrested in 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blasts.   The AP high court on Monday has set aside an order of the state government to pay compensation to those who were arrested in may 2007 and were later acquitted. A division bench comprising chief justice kalyan jyoti sengupta and justice k c bhanu was dealing with a PIL filed by S Venkatesh goud challenging the compensation paid to 70 muslim youth for wrongful confinement. The bench had ruled on Monday that the government has no authority or jurisdiction to pay compensation.

TDP MPs met Vigilance Commission

  It seems the allegations levied by YSRCP against TDP President Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed visit to Delhi visit has obliged them change their game plan. Only TDP MPs led by Nama Nageswara rao have landed at Delhi and met Vigilance Commission to lodge complaint against Enforcement Directorate for not taking interest in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets cases. They allege that ED seems to be planning to let Jagan Mohan Reddy go off its hook, as his party may merge with ruling Congress party. They remind the Vigilance Commission that CBI has filed charge sheets against Jagan Mohan Reddy for making loss of Rs.43, 000 crores to the state government with his fraud practices. They asked the VC to alert the ED officials on this particular case.

UPA behind slow down in Jagan assets case

      A delegation of TDP mps lead by Nama Nageswar Rao met central vigilance officer requesting to speed up investigation in Jagan's disproportionate assets case. Speaking to media after CVC meet Nama said " It seems that the investigation is being slow down intentionally as UPA & State Govt are taking political advantage. That's why they didn't grant permission to prosecute many officials & Ex Ministers.CBI has stated that they found 43 crores worth illegalities took place in their investigation as off now. But Enforcement Directorate didn't recover even 250 crores. All that money is public money. It has to be recovered. As CVC has control over ED, SEBI etc, we requested to speed up the investigation by ED"   The delegation is scheduled to meet CBI and Enforcement directorate later today.

Chandrababu declares assets

  Following the practice of yearly announcing the assets, TDP President Chandrababu Naidu has declared his and his family members assets on Monday. The total assets of his family including his own are Rs.41.70 crores, declared Chandrababu.   According to him they were Rs.40 crores in 2011, Rs. 35.59 crore in the last year and it is now Rs. 41.70 crores. His personal assets during last year were Rs.31.97 lakh and the same are valued at Rs.42.06 lakh.   Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari, who is in-charge of his family business Heritage Foods have assets worth Rs. 33.05 crore, whereas they were Rs.24.57 crore last year. Nara Lokesh has assets worth Rs.4.92 core.   Last year they were Rs.6.62 crore, which means a sharp decrease of Rs.1.70 crores. However his wife Brahmani possesses assets worth Rs. 3.30 crores, whereas they were Rs.2.09 crore in the last year.   Responding to his rival party leaders allegations of having Rs.2000 crores assets in total, Chandrababu said he would like to transfer that entire amount to them if they prove it.

Traffic curbs and restrictions for ganesh immersion

      To clear rush of passengers during Ganesh immersion, south central railway will run eight special MMTS trains. Meanwhile wine shops and bars including those attached to restaurants shall remail close in Hyderabad from 5p.m on tuesday to 6a.m on september 20 on orders of Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissioners. To avoid congestion, traffic restrictions have been imposed in the city. No traffic other than the procession of idols will be allowed to move on main route between 9 am on sep 18 and 8 am on sep 19. The main procession of idol starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Ailabad, nagulachinta, charminar, madina, afzalgunj, mj market, abids, basherrbagh, liberty, upper tank bund and NTR marg.

Rayapati send feelers to TDP

  Senior Congress leader and Guntur MP Rayapati Sambhasiva rao, who is opposing the party decision of dividing the state has been gradually distancing from Congress after realizing that bifurcation is inevitable. So far, he has alerted the Congress high command several times about the negative situation that is developing against the party in the region, but it goes unheard.   But, this time he gives different signals to party as well as to rival TDP. He speculates that during next general Congress party will be completely wiped off from Seemandhra region, while YSRCP will hardly get 16-18 MLAs seats only. He predicted that TDP is going to make a clean sweep in the next elections by bagging 90-104 Assembly seats. He claims that this is not just mere guess work but it is a professional report of a survey carried out by a leading organization. Whether, he is to be believed or not, he made it clear that in case if he quits Congress party, his first preference would be TDP. Hope TDP will respond to his feelers.

Is bifurcation issue also pivotal in Jagan's bail case

  CBI has to file its counter on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail petition on or before 18th of this month. Then the court will decide whether to grant bail to him or not after hearing arguments of both parties on 18th. In the meantime CBI is also ready to file the two final charge sheets on his disproportionate assets cases.   So far, YSR Congress party has been blaming Congress party for trapping him in jail with false cases and CBI has become an instrument in its hand. Now bifurcation issue also adds a new angle to this case. YSRCP alleges that Congress and TDP have joined hands in dividing the state so that they can eliminate Jagan Mohan Reddy from both regions.   However, when finally Congress announced T-state, YSRCP simply jumps out of Telangana and is spearheading with Samaikyandhra slogan to gain upper hand in Seemandhra region. It strongly believes that Congress gains a clear upper hand in Telangana with its decision and leaves no room for TDP there. So Chandrababu, who doesn’t want to lose Seemandhra to YSRCP, is going to Delhi to throw wrench in Jagan’s bail petition, argues YSRCP.   Hence, if YSRCP allegations are to be believed now bifurcation issue also turns pivotal in his bail case. TDP also accuses that YSRCP and Congress have had a secret pact for his bail in lieu with alliance or merger between the two parties in Seemandhra. So, either way Jagan’s bail is somehow connected with bifurcation issue. The suspense over his bail may clear within next few days.
