Is SPY. Reddy to take a kick from Jagan?

  No one in YSR Congress party knows when they will get a kick from Jagan Mohan Reddy. Few months ago, Congress MP Sabbam Hari, who is almost ready to join YCP, got a kick from Jagan for stating YCP will support the Congress party after general elections. Next, Mareppa jumped out of the party before getting a kick from Jagan. Potluri Varaparasad is clever enough to avoid his kick. Recently, party Narasapuram constituency in-charge Raghurama Krishnam Raju got a kick from Jagan. Now seems, it is Congress MP SPY Reddy’s turn to have a kick from Jagan.   SPY Reddy has recently joined YSR Congress party, but still continuing as Congress MP. Jagan is fuming on him for praising CM Kiran Kumar Reddy as Samaikya Simham (Lion) and Samaikya Champion after T-bill was defeated in both houses. SPY Reddy might have forgot that he quits Congress and is speaking from YSR party office. Hence, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is currently touring in Nellore district as a part of his ‘Samaikya Shankaravam’ is said to be ordered his party leaders at Hyderabad to ask SPY Reddy to conduct a press meet immediately giving explanation on why he talked so. If, SPY. Reddy refuses to obey Jagan’s order, obviously he also has to politely accept a kick from Jagan Mohan Reddy, before returning to Congress party.

T-Ball is in Cong. BJP courts

  Now, the bifurcation issue has been shifted from state to New Delhi. Though the state players are also participating in this game, now the main players are Congress and BJP only. Both of they have to make their moves very cautiously as their every move is going to win or lose a seat back in the state. As of now, Congress is firmly reiterating its commitment for Telangana state creation. But, it is aware that unless its rival BJP supports the bill, it can’t bailout the bill in the Parliament. So, it will try to highlight this point, not for getting its support, but to corner BJP in this bifurcation game. If it could spread this message to people of Telangana, then BJP has to support the bill, otherwise it has to pay dearly for it. If, BJP supports the bill, Congress can claim entire credit to self for granting Telangana state and ask the people return the favors in form of votes to it. So, it is win and win situation strategy adopted by Congress party.   BJP also very well knew that even if it supports the bill it can’t gain any political mileage instead it will be strengthening the hands of Congress party in Telangana. So, it has to find an excuse to decline its support to the bill. It can ask for excuse by proposing certain amendments to the bill that are not acceptable to Congress party. So, it can throw the ball into Congress court and escape unhurt in this issue. If, BJP refuse to support the bill with any reason, Congress can find an excuse for not granting Telangana and still can ask the people for votes blaming BJP as sinner. So, it is much more a ball game for Congress and BJP than a sensitive issue that is related to crores of people.

Sujana Chowdary hints going to court against T-Bill

  Soon after Assembly role completes on the T-Bill, many Andhra and Telangana political leaders of major political parties start landing at New Delhi for lobbying to push/stop the T-Bill in Parliament. TDP MP Sujana Chowdary is one among those many leaders landed at New Delhi.   Speaking to media he said “Centre is playing every trick it knows to push the T-Bill in the Parliament. But, we will definitely stop it from moving ahead. Actually, if such proposal comes from the people of the state and we have asked the Centre to implement it, then it can be justified. But, Centre has made a big mistake by forcing its decision on the people of the state for its political gains. Hence being their representatives, we will fight it out and ensure justice to them. The way Congress is trying to gather support for the T-Bill, same way we also will meet the opposition parties, explain them how the bifurcation of the state is going to impact the lives of crores of Telugu people and seek their support to stop the bill in Parliament. If necessary we will knock the doors of Supreme Court to stop the bill.”   This is the first sign that hints the bill has to face legal battle also in the courts. If, legal battle is started one can’t say what would be the outcome and then whether Congress will be able to push the bill through Parliament.

Chaitanyaraju drops from race

  MLC Chaitnyaraju has dropped from Rajya Sabha race. He has withdrawn his nominations and told the media that he is dropping from contest upon the advice of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. However, Adhala Prabhakar Reddy has not withdrawn from race despite pressures from several Congress leaders. Hence, there are total seven contestants in fray for six seats. K.Keshav rao and Adhala Prabhakar Reddy has to garner support for winning the seat, while all others have sufficient backing from their respective parties and support of MLAs.

Congress mounting pressure for C.Raju withdrawal

  Congress party is applying all the tactics it knows to see rebel candidate Chaitanya Raju with draw from Rajya Sabha race. First Botsa Satyanarayana wrote a letter to returning officer raising doubts about the details furnished in his nomination papers. But the returning officer Sadaram has verified and approves his nomination. Hence, next minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar swings into action and asks the returning officer to reject Chaitnya Raju’s nomination as a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against him, which he conceals in his nomination form.   But, the Minister ignores the fact that returning officer also sought information from police about this complaint before confirming about his candidature. Congress, which is complaining against him, should realize that it conveniently ignores about his back ground all these days and remembers only when he challenges its candidates. Congress is also revealing that it couldn’t shrug off its die-hard old habit of twisting hand of its enemies.

Will bifurcation stops by rejecting the T-bill?

  Indeed, what Digvijay Singh has said about successfully completing major part of bifurcation process is true, because now Centre is free to handle this issue anyway it likes to do, considering that President doesn’t raise objections and no legal problems pops up over the T-Bill.   T-leaders unanimously opine that Seemandhra leaders have played all this drama only to win the hearts of the people that they represent, but did nothing harm to the T-Bill as the resolution passed against will have no impact on it. However, every Seemandhra leader is very happy for getting a perfect reason to claim himself/herself as war hero, who defeated the T-Bill in both houses.   But, they have to answer a simple question. Will bifurcation of the state stopped with by rejecting the T-Bill in both houses? ‘ No!’ says Digvijay Singh.   He said the resolution will have no impact or will bind the Centre from passing the T-Bill in Parliament. He said Article: 3 of constitution provide sufficient powers to the Centre for dividing any state in the country. He may be very correct as far as Article 3 is concerned, but not if President of India raises any objections on the bill or Supreme Court serves notices to the Centre seeking its explanation on it, if someone files petitions against the Centre and the T-Bill. It also has to ensure BJP support to it. If, it could overcome these three major hurdles, nothing can stop it from dividing the state.

T-Bill is not defeated: Digvijay Singh

  After news broke about Telangana bill rejection by both the houses, Congress state political in-charge Digvijay Singh promptly responded to it. Speaking to media he said “With this a major part of the bifurcation process has come to an end. State Assembly has successfully completed its duty. Now, Centre will take care of the bill and present it in the Parliament as soon as possible.”   Replying to media questions, “Actually, the T-Bill was sent to state Assembly only to take its views and not for any voting. So, the resolution passed by it will not be an obstacle in processing the T-Bill. Centre has the power to divide the state using Article 3. Actually, no voting has been conducted on the T-Bill, but the house has just passed the resolution moved by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy opposing the bill. So, one should understand this difference between voting on the bill and passing a resolution moved by a member of the house. Since, we have let our leaders to express their views on the T-Bill, there is no question of taking action against anyone including CM Kiran Kumar Reddy in this regard. We are communicating with our state leaders over stalling independent candidates against party candidates for Rajya Sabha elections,” said Digvijay singh to media at New Delhi.

Assembly rejects Telangana Bill

  Speaker has allowed the resolution opposing the T-Bill in the house moved by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy a short while ago and after conducting Voice Vote, announced that the bill has been rejected by the house. Voting on the bill has been conducted amid protests from Telangana members. Additional security has been provided to Speaker Nadendla Manohar, while conducting voting on the bill in the house.   Later speaking to media he said total 86 members spoke in the house during last one and half months of debate on the bill. He said the resolution will be sent to President Pranab Mukharji along with the T-bill within two or three days after scrutinizing the 9072 amendments that he received from members of the house.

CBI opposes Jagan plea

  CBI has strongly opposed Jagan Mohan Reddy’s plea for sparing him from personal appearance to court for attending his illegal assets cases. It argues that it will impact all the cases filed against him. The CBI court adjourned his petition to February 4th.   CBI court also adjourned Minister Geeta Reddy’s discharge petition to February 6th. Geeta Reddy is named in the charge sheet of Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, a case related to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets case.   In her petition she appealed the court that she is innocent and got no personal gains except following the orders given by the then CM late YS Rajashekar Reddy in Lepakshi Knowledge Hub deal. So, she appealed the court to discharge her from this case. CBI court has asked CBI to file its reply in this regard before February 6th.

CM Kiran challenge to Centre

  At the end of one and half months’ debate on the T-Bill, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has discovered that the bill sent to State Assembly is not an original bill but it was a draft bill. He alleges that home ministry has not only cheated the State Assembly but also the Centre and President of India by forwarding a draft bill in the name of original bill. Union minister and member of GoM Jairam Ramesh has stated that the draft bill is the original bill and there is no difference between them.   Rubbishing his statement, CM Kiran said, “There are thousand flaws in the draft bill and they need to be corrected and to be made a final copy of the original bill. If he is so sure that there is no difference between the draft bill sent to us and original bill, let the Centre present the same draft bill into Parliament. If it can, I am ready to quit politics forever.”   Perhaps, Congress may not accept his challenge but it certainly reacted to it by leaking news to media about GoM meeting on February 4th, which will have a relook at the points raised by the State Assembly and CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. If, CM’s arguments gain support from other parties and if he could manage to pass a resolution in the Assembly against the T-Bill tomorrow, it will fix the Centre like anything.

A formula to enable rebels vote for the party candidates!

  Congress high command handpicked such candidates for Rajya Sabha that even it rebel leaders also can’t oppose them. As a result, some MLAs have already withdrawn their support to rebel candidates Chaitnya Raju and Adham Prabhakar Reddy and many Seemandhra MPs, MLAs and Ministers have openly declaring their support to party candidates.   CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is strongly opposing his high command all these months is also swings into action to convince the rebel candidates to withdraw from the contest and simultaneously asking Seemandhra MLAs to support the party candidates only. All most all Seemandhra Congress MLAs are expected to fall in line with party as their leader CM Kiran Kumar Reddy himself is supporting and asking them to support the party candidates.   All these Congress intellectuals have discovered a new formula to enable all support and vote for the party candidates. Their new-found-formula is “Opposing party decision is not opposing the party.” So, according to this new-found-formula, whoever is opposing high command’s decision of dividing the state can feel free to vote for party candidates. Looks great idea!

Voting on T-Bill tomorrow likely

  Assembly is adjourning with one hour intervals as members of both regions are keep shouting slogans and do not allow the house to function. If, the same situation continues, Speaker Nadendla Manohar may adjourn the house till tomorrow, which is the last day for debate on the T-Bill.   According to latest information, Speaker is likely to allow the resolution moved by CM against the T-Bill in tomorrow sessions. So, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked all the MLAs to attend the Assembly meeting without fail. However, T-leaders have categorically stating that they will not allow any resolution against the T-Bill in the house, come what so ever happens. In such case, how Speaker Nadendla is going to handle the resolution is a big question. Will he ask the members to give their opinions in written form or will adopt some other mode to conduct the voting on the T-Bill?   Today CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, many Seemandhra MLAs and Ministers have submitted affidavits to Speaker Nadendla opposing the T-Bill. In case, if speaker fails to run the house tomorrow, he may consider these affidavits as the votes against the T-Bill, hoping CM and his close aides.

T-Bill presentation on Valentine’s Day

  Speaker Nadendla Manohar, who holds BAC meeting with all party leaders today, replying to a question asked by MIM leader Akbarudden said, “If the members do not allow functioning of the house until January 30th, then T-Bill will be returned to President along with the suggestions and amendments proposed by the members until today.”   So, it is understood that T-Bill will be returned to President any time after January 30th. The latest information is GoM will meet soon after it receives the T-Bill from home ministry. It will prepare the final bill before February 10th and forwards it to Cabinet. Then Cabinet will present it in Parliament on February 14th that is on Valentine’s Day.   T-Bill has to cross three more hurdles. First, President Pranab Mukharji has to satisfy that it deserved to be forwarded to Parliament without any changes. Next, BJP has to extend its unconditional support to the bill as promised by it earlier. Supreme Court should dismiss any petitions filed against the T-Bill.

Was launching of new party idea dropped?

  The wide publicity in TV Channels for Samaikyandhra has abruptly ends, the way they were started suddenly. Recently, Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal speaking to media has said “Some Samaikyandhra enthusiast might have placed those ads in the TV channels to stress the need of keeping the state united. They don’t indicate that either CM Kiran Kumar Reddy or I are launching a new political party. Our intention is to stress the party for Samaikyandhra and not floating a new political party.”   “Kiran Kumar Reddy is doing his best. His proposal of passing a resolution rejecting and returning T-Bill is appreciable and a sincere attempt to halt the bifurcation process. If our party revokes its decision even now, people will hug it, otherwise it will be forbidden for two terms at least. It is absurd to say that we are doing all this merely following the directions of our high command. If so, why should we serve a no-trust motion against our own government? We are not fighting for our political interests but to safeguard entire state interests. We are ready to sacrifice our political future for the sake of people,” said Lagadapati.   If Lagadapati says that the publicity is not meant for launching any party then why anyone should take pains for making so much publicity for no reasons dumping crores of rupees. It is just a matter of time for all of them to come out of their shells. Once the T-Bill is returned to President, everyone including Kiran Kumar Reddy and Lagadapati will certainly come out of their shells.

CM Kiran seeks 3 weeks extension for T-Bill

  CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, ho brought both houses to virtual standstill with his sudden move seeking resolution against T-Bill in the house, once again wrote a letter to President Pranab Mukharji seeking three weeks extension for the T-Bill. He writes that extension is necessary because still there are many members left in the house, who need to give their views on the bill. It came to know that five-ten MLAs have signed on the letter.   It is surprising to see him asking for extension on the T-Bill, while wanting to move a resolution for rejecting and returning the bill to Centre. During his length speech in the house he categorically stated that the bill which is in incomplete form and has several flaws and against constitution need to be rejected and returned to Centre immediately. However, he now writes President asking for extension for continuing a debate on the bill! He seems to buy some time to delay the T-Bill at state level so as it will miss the upcoming Parliament sessions.   However, President Pranab, who is awware of his intentions may not grant any extension this time.

Is any member wants debate on T-Bill

  Both houses were adjourned again till tomorrow morning as the members do not allow the speaker to conduct debate on T-bill. Both regional MLAs have brought the house virtually to a standstill position shouting Samaikyandhra and Telangana slogans. Later, Speaker Nadendla Manohar convened BAC meeting to sort out the problems, but there also seems to be no consensus between members over CM’s proposal of moving a resolution against T-bill.   Hence, both houses may not function until the deadline for T-bill is over on January 30th. T-members of both houses seem to be determined not to allow any resolution against T-bill, which may turn a major hurdle in Telangana creation. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy seems to be intentionally generated this heat in both houses following the orders of his high command for returning the bill at the earliest. Although, it appears only T-leaders are opposing a debate or resolution on the T-Bill, all most all the members seem to be reluctant for it, otherwise they wouldn’t bring the house to standstill position.

  After Digvijay, Ghulam Nabi Azad now comes the turn of Mukul Wasnik to issue a conduct certificate to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.   He said “There is no need to take action against CM Kiran Kumar Reddy as he has never crossed the party lines. He said expressing his opinion against the T-bill can’t be considered as antiparty activity. Every member of the party including Kiran is free to give their opinion on the T-bill. He said no whip has been issued to members of the party of any region. He said once the debate is over on the T-bill in the State Assembly, we will think about how to react on the resolution proposed by him and few others.”   His statement underlines that high command is not feeling any pains with CM Kiran Kumar Reddy arguments made against it and the T-bill in the house. This hints that he may be allowed to continue in his post until bifurcation process is completed and state is divided. Probably, Digvijay Singh has said the same about CM Kiran Kumar Reddy on the day one and Mukul Wasnik is just acknowledging his statement now.
