Rahul’s effort for last minute patch-up

  Rahul Gandhi, who has been elevated to vice president post of his party with great ease and is expecting to take charge of the country as Prime Minister after the elections, might have given many lectures on many issues like corruption, de-centralization of power etc. but never taken initiative to give a lecture on the burning Telangana issue or never shown courage to address the problem all these years. He just keep watching the burning state all these years sitting behind his mother Sonia Gandhi.   Even after his party takes a concrete decision to divide the state, he has not shown courage to visit the state and try to convince the people of both regions. But, when the T-Bill is all set to be passed tomorrow, he holds a meeting with his loyal Seemandhra Congress MPs and union ministers in a last minute effort for a patch-up with them. But, they too knew that it is just an eye-wash meeting and nothing else. However, they gave their wish list to him and told the media that they are expecting a positive response from him. The man, who doesn’t bother to hear the objections raised by lakhs of people, how can be expected to hear a handful of loyal MPs, who dance to his tunes.

Can CM Kiran able to launch new party?

  CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to resign tomorrow owing to his stand taken in favor of Samaikyandhra. Some of his close aides are stating that he may launch new political party very soon. However, his rival group in the party led by Botsa Satyanarayana is stating that no one would follow him and the idea of launching the new party would be a disaster. So, if he fails to take away majority of the Congress leaders with him, he can’t afford to launch his new party. So is Botsa swings into action to stop the leaders from going with him. There are particular problems in launching of new political party. If seen his nature of handling the matters without taking the others into confidence, he may not let others take charge of his new party, though they may be very seniors to him. He never let his cabinet colleagues share the information of his schemes or claim credit of them. He even followed the same principal during his fight for Samaikyandhra. Except him, all his colleagues could not catch the limelight in the entire struggle. So, he may not allow anyone to steal the show in his new party also. This may discourage many to join him.   Moreover his rival group argues that there is no meaning in launching a party in the name of Samaikyandhra after state is virtually divided into two. However, even if launches his new party after bifurcation, he has nothing to offer to people in return except a non-congress-government that carries a clear Congress mark across it. So, this may make the people suspect his honesty and his party intentions.   If he is launching the new party following his high command’s directions to split the votes and to stop TDP from coming to power, it is very difficult to convince the people that his party will not merge with Congress or support it after elections. So, there are several odds to think about before launching a new party. However, he has not many options except retiring from politics.

Can Botsa become CM by targetting at Kiran Kumar Reddy?

  Knowing that CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is going to quit in a day or two, PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana and Minister Kondru Murali start hardly hitting at him. While hitting at him, they both are loudly stating about Congress victory in the upcoming elections despite knowing about the party situation and about its blink electoral chances, probably to get media and high command attention.   Botsa Satyanarayana has never tried to hide his interest about becoming Chief Minister of the state. There may be a lengthy list of aspirants, but he wants to be the front runner for this chair. So, somehow he has to get full attention of media and also high command attention. So, the best method is just hit at Kiran Kumar Reddy, the new enemy of the party.   There may be several aspirants for the PCC president chair also if Botsa is shifted to CM Post. Probably, Dokka Manikyavara Prasad and Kondru Murali want to be the front runners for it. But, what if high command prefers for Kanna Lakshmi Narayana or someone else for those two top posts?   However, they have to put efforts until the last minute. So as a part of their efforts, they may intensify their attacks on Kiran Kumar Reddy and his followers, once they quit the Congress party tomorrow.

Why Cong is asking BJP support for T-Bill?

  It is very interesting to see Sonia Gandhi, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Jairam Ramesh are appealing BJP to extend their support to T-Bill in the Parliament, while Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamalnath is quite sure of passing it without BJP support. Even today also he categorically stated that Lok Sabha will discuss and pass the T-Bill tomorrow and Rajya Sabha on the next day. TRS president KCR said that T-Bill will be passed with voice vote. So, when Congress has a strategy for passing the T-Bill without BJP support, then why it is roaming around BJP with folded hands?   Ever since, the T-Bill lands in its lap, Congress is trying to highlight about its honesty and determination to pass the bill, while underlining the necessity of BJP support to it, as to send a strong message to people of Telangana about BJP’s unwillingness for Telangana state creation. Hence, it will build pressure on BJP and force it extend its support to the T-Bill or be prepared to face Telangana people’s anguish for not supporting it.   BJP also realized this crooked idea being played by Congress. So, BJP leaders have made certain suggestions and amendments to the T-Bill that is not acceptable to Congress. They are also insisting for an in-depth debate on the T-Bill, which is also highly impossible in the present situation. So, Congress and BJP are desperately trying to throw the ball into other’s court to transfer the blame on to other. However, they can continue this game hardly for three more days only. If, BJP wants to escape unhurt from this whole affair, it may stage a walkout during voting and let the Congress pass the T-Bill with voice vote.

Addition to the Interim Budget

      Here is a list of some more key points that we had missed out. The following set gives us a brief of what our Finance Minister said during the session at parliament today :   1. Finance minister proposed an increased budget support to the railways from Rs 26,000 crore to Rs 29,000 crore in the interim budget for 2014-2015 2. As a part of the modernization drive, the defence ministry was allotted 2,24,000 crore in the interim general budget, which is 10% more than the previous time. 3. Rs.1000 Crore was allotted for the Nirbhaya fund for the safety and empowerment of women. 4. Chidambaram seeked a positive nod from the parliament for supplementary spending of Rs 46,227.57 crore in 2013-14. Tamil Nadu DMK party Supremo M Karunanidhi mentioned that the interim budget that was presented today had some welcoming features like the controlling of inflation at 5%, seven new airports, solar power projects and reduction in taxes on mobile phones. However, he further added that the budget lacked lot of sops in an election year. Bahujan Samaj Party chairperson Mayawati mentioned that there was nothing new in the interim budget that was tabled at the parliament today. She also rubbished the last interim budget submitted by the UPA government.  

Interim Budget 2014-2015

Interim Budget 2014-2015, Budget 2014: The Union Finance Minister, Shri P. Chidambaram here today presented the Interim Budget 2014-15 that shows an estimated plan expenditure of Rs. 5,55,322 crore and non-plan expenditure of Rs. 12,07,892 crore. He said that the current financial year will end on a satisfactory note with the fiscal deficit at 4.6% and the revenue deficit at 3.3%. Shri P. Chidambaram said that emboldened by the progress made, he has budgeted for the receipts and expenditure in 2014-15 that will leave a fiscal deficit of 4.1% and revenue deficit of 3%. The Finance Minister said the fiscal deficit during 2014-15 will be below the target set by the fiscal consolidation path.  

Chidambaram Answers Modi

      While addressing a rally recently, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took a dig at Finance Minister P. Chidambaram by saying that he is a 'recounting leader' and mentioned that the nation could be led only bu hard work and not by a Harvard Degree. Answering to this at the parliament today, Chidambaram said that his mother and Harvard University taught him the values of hard work. This jibe at Modi will have a reaction if we are not wrong. But let us wait and see what it would be !!!

PM's Praises for Finance Minister :

      Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the issue of One Rank One Pension has been addressed comprehensively and he mentioned that he is confident that our forces, Officers and Jawans will welcome this. Dr.Manmohan Singh also congratulated Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for presenting a balanced vote on account portraying a realistic picture of the economic situation of the country. Prime Minister added that P. Chidambaram aptly summarized the economic and social achievements that took place in the last 10 years.   In the meanwhile, P.Chidambaram mentioned that our economy is more stable than it was two years ago rejecting the arguments of 'Policy Paralysis'.

      Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has mentioned the following points at the Parliament session : 1. Govt has succeeded in obtaining information in 67 cases of overseas accounts, finding out more 2. FM claims 140mn people out of poverty in two UPA regimes 3. I thank the PM for all the support I have received during my term as the FM 4. Neither populism, nor majoritism is a way for governance 5. Revenue deficit is estimated at 3% 6. Am emboldened by the progress made in the receipts and expenditures in 2013-14 7. Fiscal Deficit is estimated at 4.1% 8. Fiscal deficit will be contained at 4.6% of GDP 9. The Plan expenditure shall remain unchanged at Rs 5,55,322 crore Following this, Finance Minister P.Chidambaram introduced the Finance Bill for the year 2014.

      Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has mentioned the following points at the Parliament session :   1. Govt has succeeded in obtaining information in 67 cases of overseas accounts, finding out more 2. Disappointed that GST has not been introduced 3. We should use subsidy for the most deserving. 4. Should allocate more for defence, railways, highways and telecom 5. Total sanitation and universal health care among top ten areas of focus. 6. Focus should be on public–private partnerships in infra sector 7. The excise duty reduced for small cars from 12% to 8%l; for SUVs from 30% top 24% 8. Propose to exempt loading, unloading, packaging of rice from service tax 9. Reduces excise duty for SUVs, two-wheeler; restructure same for mobile handsets. 10. No changes in tax law

      Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has mentioned the following points at the Parliament session : 1. Government fully committed to Aadhaar project, even critics will realize it's a tool of empowerment 2. The allocation for the Defence Ministry has been increased to Rs 2,24,000 crore 3. Nearly 9 lakh student borrowers will benefit through the moratorium on repayment of student loans 4. 41,16,000 women have been provided credit through SHGs 5. India's economy is the 11th largest in the world 6. Food subsidy shoots up to over 1 lakh crore, Rs 2,46,397 crore allocated for food, fertilizer and fuel subsidy. 7. To offer Interest relief to student loans with PSU banks 8. The fortunes of India will have significant impact on world economy in the future 9. Top areas of priority: fiscal consolidation; CAD; high growth with moderate level of inflation; time table for passing legislation 10. We must focus on manufacturing, and manufacturing for export; with minimum tariff protection

      1. We will not do anything that will affect the foundation of India's economy. 2. Addition of forex exchange of $15 billion 3. Rs 6,000 crore for Ministry of Housing and Poverty Alleviation; Rs 21,000 cr to Ministry of WCD 4. To set up Rs 200 cr Venture Fund with IFCI 5. GDP growth rate in Q3 and Q4 of 2013-14 will be at least 5.2% 6. Drinking water and sanitation ministry gets Rs. 15,260 cr; Social Justice and Empowerment gets Rs 6,730 cr 7. Interim budget2014 : Budgetary support to Railways hiked to Rs 29,000 crore in FY15 from Rs 26,000 crore in FY14. 8. Non plan expenditures will be over Rs.12 lakh crore. 9. Key Points on Interim Budget 2014- Part 1 :

      Finance Minister P.Chidambaram is currently presenting the interim budget at the parliament and here are a few key points on what he had spoke :   1. India would not be overly hit by global cues 2. India's head is above water 3. Economic problems faced by our country is common for all growing economies 4. Account deficit for 2013-2014 expected to be at $45 billion 5.Agricultural exports are at $45 billion 6. In the financial year 2014, the fiscal deficit is seen at 4.6% ( The target is 4.8%) 7. Agricultural credit will cross $45 billion while it was $41 billion between 2012-2013 8. 6.3% year-on-year growth seen in export with a figure of 326$ billion. 9. Agricultural output for FY14 is 4.6%

Kiran's New Party - Will He or Won't He ???

      CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is pretty firm on his stance of resignation. Although there were efforts made to convince him on continuing in office, it was all in vain. In fact, some senior leaders asked him to continue until the parliamentary sessions come to an end but Kiran has informed that he will submit his resignation in a day or two itself. He is also firm about floating a new political party very soon. Kiran even held a marathon meeting with six ministers and 25 legislators of the Seemandhra region in order to discuss about this matter.   Kiran had reportedly said that he is waiting for the speaker to give a clarity on the T Bill. He is expecting a response on the T Bill today but that is not sure as yet. Kiran will resign as soon as the final verdict on T Bill is given, according to some leaders who attended the meeting. It is heard that Kiran is quite confident about the future of his new party. He feels that people are fed up of Congress and they are also not sure about the credibility of TDP and YSRCP. There is a good chance of people choosing the new party, according to Kiran. Kiran informed his colleagues during the meeting that he had conducted a couple of surveys in the Seemandhra region and it seems like the new party would get 60% neutral votes. Even if the bifurcation takes place, Kiran is sure that the new party will have a good prospect. No official announcement had been made by Kiran on this matter yet. We need to wait for a confirmation for him after all !!!

BJP Ready to Tackle UPA Tricks

      BJP seems to be going light on the T Bill issue now. Top BJP leaders have taken a decision to support the T Bill and they are not very particular about the constitutional amendments that needs to be made. One of the BJP leaders mentioned that they will take care of making the amendments after the elections, once they come into power. He also mentioned that the party is pretty confident about winning in the forthcoming polls. In the meanwhile, Congress has created a major mess out of the T Bill issue and are not even able to keep their own members under control. BJP members mentioned that they are now understanding the game plan of Congress.   The ruling UPA party is stretching it's maximum support to the T Bill and if in case it fails, they have a ready escape route and that is to blame the BJP party for being truant and harsh on the issue. On the other hand, top leaders of BJP  have received information from local leaders that there is a huge scope for BJP to win in areas like Karimnagar, Hyderabad City, Mahbub Nagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Warangal. This is one other reason for BJP's unconditional support to the T Bill now. Congress had been playing politics with the T Bill issue and BJP leaders are now concerned as there are only five working days left for the session to come to an end. They are even wondering if the ruling party would seek approval of T Bill at the parliament today even before tabling vote-on-account. However, BJP is prepared to handle the tantrums of Congress. A couple of BJP leaders are even leaving to Delhi to pressurize the speaker in order to avoid the stalling of T Bill. We need to wait and see what is going to happen at the parliamentary session today.

Kiran has crossed Lakshman Rekha: Jairam

  Union minister and member of the GoM Jairam Ramesh in an interview given to an English news channel said “CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has not been loyal to party. He has crossed Lakshman Rekha by going against party decision.”   This is first time that a person representing party high command to come open against CM Kiran. Perhaps, this would be hinting end of Kiran’s association with Congress party. He also seems to be determined to quit Congress and launch his own political party very soon. However, some of his close aides have raised doubts whether people will vote for the new party as it is just seems to a new branch of Congress party. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has to find answer for this question before launching the new party, otherwise he will face the same fate of Praja Rajyam party launched by Chiranjeevi during last elections.

Chandrababu spits fire on Sonia

  Chandrababu Naidu addressing the huge crowds at his Praja Garjana meeting held at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district on Saturday evening, targeting Congress party and its president Sonia Gandhi, spits fire.   “Sonia Gandhi knows nothing about out state or country. She knows nothing about problems. She is betraying the Telugu people, who helped her UPA-1 and 2 governments stay afloat. She can be named as ‘Sonia Gadse.’ She is dividing the Telugu people without their consent for the sake of her son. She wants to install her son on the Prime Minister Chair before retiring from politics. After all who is she to decide about our state and fate?” asked Chandrababu.   He then taking a dig at Jagan Mohan Reddy said “YSR Congress party is launched by psycho. It is born from corruption and heading towards its mother party Congress. I am very sure that it will merge with Congress soon after the elections are over. Congress high command is dividing the state relying upon Jagan Mohan Reddy in Seemandhra and KCR in Telangana. While, TRS is going to merge very soon, YCP will merge after elections. So, people should understand that casting votes to any of these parties are casting to Congress party.”   Chandrababu then hitting at TRS and its president KCR said “I have thrown him a challenge to join a one-to-one debate on Hyderabad development, but he didn’t. Because he too knows that I am the one who develops Hyderabad. I have developed it keeping in view of our employment requirements for the next 15 years. But, within last ten years he and his party completely ruined the city. Congress government’s ignorance and inefficiency brings the city and the state to a standstill position.”   “I have developed Hyderabad city and created enormous wealth for our state and the country. They not only ruined but also making the lives of the people miserable with their decision to divide the state. Unless, we put the state back on to its track, we have to face a disaster very soon. Hence, I request the people to elect TDP that can handle this task honestly and efficiently,” appealed the people Chandrababu.

President’s Rule to be imposed on Delhi

  Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has resigned and recommends the Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung to dissolve the cabinet and hold elections afresh. But, the Governor ignoring his request has recommended President to impose President Rule on Delhi and to put the Assembly in suspended animation mode for time being.   The union cabinet, which met this evening gave its nod to Governor’s recommendations. So, President Pranab Mukharji may sign the orders imposing President’s Rule on Delhi. Then, it has to be endorsed by Parliament through a resolution under Article 356 of the Constitution.   But, why the Lt. Governor has not dissolved the Delhi Assembly is a big question. Did Congress high command asks him to do so with some political intentions? Or, he wants to keep the option open for other two parties-Congress and BJP to form the government? Let the time spell the reasons.

Why Cong. did made tall promises in T-Bill?

  The GoM constituted for supervising the bifurcation process has prepared a draft bill that is full of loop holes and tall promises. They intentionally left the loop holes and made tall promises in the T-Bill because they are not sure about Congress returning to power after the general elections.   The tall promises like funding of Polavaram Project, new capital for residuary Andhra Pradesh state, financial packages for the development of backward regions in both states etc. etc. they made in the T-Bill are just intended to pacify the people of Seemandhra and get the T-Bill approved before the elections so as it can get the votes of Telangana people. Actually, the T-Bill is like an election manifesto that will be thrown into dust bin at the end of polling. Even if some miracle happens and they return to power, there will be no one to demand them to fulfill its promises made in the T-Bill. So, Congress has made such tall promises only because it need not implement them.   It left the loop holes in the bill only to trap its successor. When it is not accountable for the T-Bill, then Seemandhra Union Ministers putting more demands before it to give their consent for bifurcation is just foolishness.
