Did CM KCR made self-goal on OU lands?

  It seems Telangana Chief Minister KCR has made a self-goal by throwing a challenge to Osmania University students. Whether he is serious about taking OU lands for providing housing for poor or not, his consequent statements on this issue have provoked the students.   Recently, OU students attacked Hotel Swagath Grand at Habsiguda, owned by the TRS MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy. Then next they targeted the Bharat Petrol Bunk in the same area alleging it was constructed in the OU lands. Obviously, opposition parties also singing chorus with them for their political interests, but the Chief Minister KCR has to blame himself for this unrest and unwanted developments taking place in OU now.   No surprise if OU students intensify their fight against the government as it is not reacting to their demand to revoke its decision. But, the Telangana government may be not responding because it will provide another weapon to the opposition parties. If, the government agrees to revoke its decision bowing to their fights, then the opposition parties may simply switch to other side and demand the CM to make his stand clear on his promise of providing housing to the poor. Perhaps, this is what stopping the Telangana government from reacting to the OU students’ demands.   Since, the Chief Minister KCR has ignited the sparks in the Osmania University, he has to take initiative and find a solution to this problem, otherwise if prolongs this issue any further, it may create unexpected problems to his government.

KTR returns home from US tour

Putting an end to the three weeklong tour of America, Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KTR returned to Hyderabad in the early hours of this morning.   Addressing the media, he said that he met several representatives of IT, Industry and Defense sector. Alluding to the investments, he cleared that they agreed to invest nearly 500 million dollars (apprx 3000 crore rupees in Indian currency) in Telangana. He also proclaimed that companies like Microsoft and Google are impressed with Telangana’s new industrial Policy responded positively to invest.   KTR got a blasting welcome in Shamshabad Airport amidst thousands of supporters staged a rally to the camp office. -Srikar.Palwai

Telangana Cabinet to meet today

Chief Minister K.Chandra Shekar Rao on Tuesday convened a cabinet meeting at 4pm as to contemplate on the projects to be kicked off including the celebrations for the state formation fete to be held for nearly a week.   TS government is all set to dole out a platter of goodies to the poor. The state cabinet would discuss on the length action plan for two bedroom housing project. It may be also mentioned as KCR extensively toured several bastis in Hyderabad and promised every where to start the project this year.   Other key terms listed in the agenda include regularizing the contract employees; already some of the departments have begun scrutinizing credentials of the employees. Government is also planning to issue “Pattas” for those who applied for the regularization of lands under GO-58.   The Cabinet will also take a decision on land purchase policy, which enables the revenue department to acquire small bits of lands for various purposes sans waiting for land acquisition norms that was causing inordinate delay at times. -srikar.Palwai

Amaravati Master Plan highlights

  As promised earlier, Singapore government has submitted the master plan of proposed capital city Amaravati to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday. Later, Singapore Minister Eeshwaran and Chandrababu Naidu jointly unveiled the master plan at Secretariat. Eeshwaran briefed the media about various technical points and highlight of the master plan.   1. Master plan was developed completely in accordance with Vastu. 2. Capital city will be built in 270 square KM in 7 seven sectors. 3. 155 KM of roads will be laid inside the capital city and 324 KM long connecting roads will be laid. 4. 127 KM long world class express high ways and semi express highways will be constructed in the capital city. 5. No-Motor zones will be developed in the capital city. 6. Total 27 Sq. KM is allotted for developing green network in the capital city. 7. A huge park with named as ‘Brahmasthan’ will be developed exactly in the center of the seed capital. 8. A huge cricket stadium facing River Krishna will be constructed.   Minister Eeshwaran said Amaravati city would be the most modern capital city among the cities in the world and it is designed to prosper for centuries.   Chandrababu Naidu thanked the Singapore Minister Eeshwaran for developing such a great master plan for Amaravati. He said the state government will conduct Bhoomi Puja on June 6th and will start construction activities on Dushera festival day. He is quite hopeful to complete the first phase of construction before 2019 using the latest equipment. He said the main buildings like Assembly, Secretariat, CM’s Office etc. in the seed capital will be built with the funds released by the Central government and rest in Swiss Challenge mode.

HC gives shock to Delhi Lt. Governor

  Delhi High Court, Lt. Governor, Chief Minister, IAS Officers The Delhi High Court gives a big shock to Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, who is conflicting with the Aam Admi government led by its Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal since last two weeks over the appointment of Princiapl Secretary.   Responding to a petition filed by the Delhi government, it asks the Delhi Lt. Governor to co-ordinate with the Delhi government to ensure smooth governance, instead of following the guidelines issued by the Centre regarding having control the bureaucrats. The court categorically stated that all the IAS officers serving the Delhi government, including the Anti Corruption Chief should report to the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and not to the Lt. Governor. Perhaps, this would put an end to this two week long tussel between the Delhi Chief Minister and Lt. Governor.   Arvind Kejriwal is planning to conduct a public-cabinet-meeting in Central Park in Cannut Place, New Delhi on Monday on the eve of completing 100 days in the power. He is reportedly planning to pass a resolution demanding full statehood to Delhi during this public-cabinet meeting so that it could get full support of the people of Delhi. Getting statehood to Delhi is one of the elections promises made by the AAP.

TPCC to invite Sonia for T formation day fete

TPCC is now making all efforts to regain its glory and play an effective opposition role. As Rahul’s Rythu Bharosa Yatra, which gave a big boost to the members of the party, T-congress now looking forward to rope in Sonia Ghandi on Telangana formation day.   As per reliable sources, Congress trying to organize a conference on june 2 and wanted Sonia Ghandi to deliver a key speech amidst of all the professors, civil society groups, intellectuals who fought for Telangana to discuss upon the promises on which TRS made before the elections and how the priorities changed in the last one year.   Atleast six prominent leaders, who will not be politicians, but from other fields including economists will speak on 2nd June. DMK to appeal Jaya’s acquittal

DMK Chief Karunanidhi on Monday said his party would appeal against Jayalalitha’s acquittal in disproportionate assets case in a meeting held with district secretaries.   Speaking in the district secretaries meet, he is said that they would challenge Jayalalitha’s acquittal since the Supreme Court twice held that DMK has the right to be intervened in the case. He also added that both special public prosecutor BV Acharya and Karnaka’s advocate general Ravi Varma Kumar have clearly recommended to the government to appeal to the apex court.   The former Chief Minister said Acharya that if the Karnataka government did not appeal against the high court judgment, it would set a wrong precedent. The DMK leader said original complainant, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has said he would prefer an appeal. -Srikar.Palwai

Why YSRCP keep mum on special status?

  YSRCP Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, speaking at a meeting held by the students JAC at Chittoor on Monday said “If the TDP call back its two union ministers from the Modi government, then the Centre will grant special status to the state definitely. But, as long as they both continue in the Modi government, TDP government can’t pressurize the Centre on special status issue.”   TDP is continuing in the NDA government not merely to have two union ministers’ posts, but get its co-operation and funds for the state development. Similarly, Modi government is also not a minority government and depends on any party including the TDP. But, it offers union minister posts to many of its alliance partners including the TDP only to maintain good relationship with them and to make them involved in its business.   It is to be noted that YSRCP that always find fault with the TDP for failing to pressurize the Modi government never spoke harshly a word against the Modi government on any issue. If, it is honestly asking for special status to the state, it should fight with the Centre that has the authority and power to grant it, but not with the state government. But, it is fighting with the TDP government alone using this special status as a weapon against it like many other issues. It may be insisting the TDP to come out from the Modi government not to pressurize the Centre, but to have a chance to join the NDA alliance. Perhaps, that is why it always remains soft on the Modi government and hard against the TDP government.

Prof. Kodandaram opposes CM KCR on OU lands

  T-JAC Chairman professor Kodandaram, who until now was in dilemma about how to deal the TRS government, seems finally comes out of his confusion and sung chorus with the Osmania University students against CM KCR for his decision to take OU lands for providing housing to poor. Speaking at a meeting held by the students on Sunday, he said “I agree that it is very important to provide housing to poor people, but not in the university lands. I strongly oppose the state government’s idea. The lands should be utilized only for the university purposes and not by any other agency or for any other purposes.”   Although, Professor Kodandaram is differing with the TRS government for a longtime on many issues like nativity, number of martyrs etc. this is first time for him to openly say something against TRS government. Perhaps, he came out of his shell because the TRS government is ignoring his suggestions and objections on several issues. He might believe that CM KCR can’t ignore him or his fight on this issue like other issues because of his professional relationship with the Osmania University and the students. But, the question is how long he can keep the heat on and what if KCR shelves his promise of providing housing to poor in the OU lands after the GHMC elections? Then, he has to regret for speaking against the Chief Minister and also should be prepared for some reaction from him.

Kadiyam-Errabelli War Intensifies

Taking the battle to a maximum, Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari and Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday involved in a verbal war criticizing each other in a meeting held to lay a foundation stone for development works in Bammera of Palakurthi.   Addressing people at the meeting, Errabelli requested government not to show any discrimination on granting the funds to my constitution to suppress me. He alleged government that it had released only 4.5 Crore while others were given rupees 30 Crore for laying roads in rural areas on which he sought an explanation from Kadiyam Srihari.   Answering to his question, Kadiyam strongly lashed out at Errabelli saying there is no such discriminaton in releasing funds. With this a war of words broken out for nearly 20 minutes as supporters rushed on to the stage. -Srikar. Palwai

CBN sharply reacts to KE allegations

  Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM KE Krishna Murthy has criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not focusing his attention on Kurnool district for its development. He alleges that the Chief Minister is fond of East and West Godavari districts, because TDP has won many seats from both those districts whereas it could bag only three seats from Kurnool.   He also indirectly criticized the Chief Minister for appointing Chakrapani Reddy as district president of the party, who is not familiar about district.   Chandrababu Naidu, who generally avoids replying through media, reacts very sharply to his comments. He said “I am developing Kurnool district than anyone else did in the past. Several educational institutions and industries are coming to Kurnool district in the near future. Being, Chief Minister of the state I treat all districts equally and putting efforts for development of entire state and not on any one district or one region. We have to respect the people, who gave us a chance to come into power. But, it doesn’t mean that the government is ignoring other districts.”   Responding about appointing Chakrapani Reddy, “TDP will always honor the party workers and leaders, who worked hard for the party and stood by it during its difficult times,” said CM Chandrababu Naidu.

KE Criticizes, JC praises Chandrababu

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has faced two complete different reactions over his performance from his party leaders. Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy has expressed dissatisfaction for appointing Chakrapani Reddy as Kurnool district party president.   He said “Chakrapani is not even aware which street is where in Kurnool. Appointing such a person as party district president is a very bold decision. He has to strive a lot to familiarize himself with district leaders.”   “If, the TDP got many seats in West Godavari and got only three seats in Kurnool in the general elections, it doesn’t mean that we have not put efforts or the district can be ignored. I wish Chandrababu Naidu focus his attention on Kurnool district also," said Krishna Murthy during mini mahanadu meeting held at Kurnool on Saturday, where district in-charge minister Achchem Naidu is also present.   While he criticizes the Chief Minister, another noted TDP leader and MP JC Diwakar Reddy, who is also from Rayalaseema, showers praises on the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for taking several measures for a speedy development of the state.   He said “The state is spearheading with the development activities in Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. So, I appeal the people and all the leaders of our party support him for a speedy development.” He stated this during mini mahanadu meeting held at Dharmavaram on Saturday.

Political uncertainty costs Jayaprada’s very much

  Veteran actress and former Samajwadi party MP Jayaprada, after expelled from the party has returned to her native Andhra Pradesh state and tried to join one party or the other in the state just before the elections. But, her condition to allot party ticket for contesting to Lok Sabha from her native town Rajahmundry, proved to be a wrong decision as no political party is prepared to offer her that seat. So, after a year-long interval she plans to return to Samajwadi Party through which she earned name and fame and from which she was expelled later.   She convinced party president Mulayam Singh and his son Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of the state for her reentry into party and also an MLC ticket as a welcome gift. But, she was shocked to see her name was removed from the list in the last minute. It is because of Azham Khan, a senior leader of the party, with whom she had political rivalry. He even insisted the party high command not to admit her into the party. Hence, she is in dilemma whether to hang on to the party that has no interest in her or to look for some other alternate political party to continue in the politics.   Earlier, in the last year before general elections, she met Congress party president Sonia Gandhi seeking admission into the party and was reportedly invited by her into party. But, Jayaprada dropped that idea, probably foreseeing the blink future of the Congress party. She may exactly judge the Congress party future, but fails to judge her own political future. As a result, after working in the politics for many years, Jayaprada found herself standing in the cross roads.

KCR Wishes to see Garbage free roads

TS government gearing up to slap penalty on those who litter debris, garbage on the roads despite provided with dustbins to every household, cleared chief minister KCR in “Swatcch Hyderabad- Swatcch Telangana” review meeting on 22 may.   Stating that the roads must be free from garbage and debris, every household will be given two dustbins one each for wet and dry waste which would help for the easier disposal of garbage in hygienic manner.   He also directed all the officials to create awareness among the people on new concept of dustbins. He also added that 2500 Auto- trolleys will be provided to shift garbage in regular intervals.   Of the 77 nalas, five are joining Hussain Sagar and the rest of 72 are merging into Musi , he said and directed the officials to take necessary measures of creating awareness among the people against throwing garbage on the roads. KCR also directed the officials to take immediate measures to remove hi-tension wires which are located close to houses and apartments. -Srikar.palwai

Jayalalitha to Swear in as CM Today

After a major fight back in the disproportionate assets case, Jayalalitha is all set to swear in as Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for the fifth time today at 11 am in Madras University Centenary Auditorium.   After Paneer Selvam resigned as Chief Minister, Jayalalitha was on Friday elected unanimously as AIADMK legislature leader by the party. She also called up on Governor K. Rosaiah and handed over a copy of resolution passed by Party MLAs. Mr paneer selvam and four other senior ministers accompanied jayalalitha.   Jayalalitha cabinet will now consist of 28 incumbent ministers plus her retaining almost all the minister of Paneer’s cabinet except few minor changes. Agricultural ministry has now been handed over to housing minister S.Vaithilingam.   The Andhra Pradesh State cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has taken some important decisions today. It approves the aerospace, food processing, mining, agriculture marketing policies. The cabinet also approves the proposals for allotment of 28 acres land for industrial purpose in Guntur and 20 acres in Prakasham district for setting up ultra-modern driving school.   Later speaking to the media, CM Chandrababu Naidu said “We were thrown on to the roads with bifurcation. Previous UPA government has tried to create rift between people of the state by constituting Shivarama Krishnan Committee to identify the location for the capital city. But, we are happy that people have trusted us and allowed us to build capital city in quite suitable location.”   “I understand the Telangana government is not willing to co-operate with us, instead it is still trying to cash in with Telangana sentiment.”   “I would like to say that June 2nd is not a time for celebrations but it is to be considered an inspiring day to re construct our state from scratch. Hence, I appeal the people to take active part in Nav Nirmana Deeksha that starts from June 2nd,” said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to media at Hyderabad

Kejriwal upset as powers accorded to Lt. Governor

  The row between Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lt. Governor of Delhi abruptly took a new twist with a gazette notification issued by the Centre on allocation of powers to Lt. Governor of Delhi.   According to it, Lt. Governor will have jurisdiction over matters connected with services, public order, police and land and he may consult with the Chief Minister whenever he thinks necessary in issues of services using his own ‘discretion’. The Home Ministry has sent a note of it to Delhi Government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday.   Kejriwal is very much upset with this unexpected twist given by the Centre. He said “People of Delhi betrayed of their rights with this act by the Centre. We will discuss about this in the party and consult legal experts before coming to any conclusion on this matter.”   However, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said “The row over distribution of powers in Delhi was not a political issue but a constitutional one. Hence, the notification on allocation of powers in Delhi would remove all confusion regarding governance in the national capital and help the AAP government run the city efficiently.”

Konathala likely to return to YSRCP?

  If reports are to be believed, Konathala Ramakrishna who quits the YSR Congress party after the general elections is said to be planning to return to party again. He was considered to be one of the most trusted leaders of the party, but was forced to leave the party after the defeat of party honorary president YS Vijayamma in the elections, who contested to Lok Sabha from Vizag.   After leaving the party, Konathala told the media that Jagan Mohan Reddy has suspected that he and his followers have conspired to defeat his mother Vijayamma, whereas Konathala claims that he repeatedly asked Jagan Mohan Reddy not to field her from Vizag, because the party is weak there and her chances of winning the elections are remote. As he predicted she was defeated in the elections, which is a humiliation to the party.   Konathala said that he has tried to contact Jagan Mohan Reddy after the elections, but he not even lifts his phone calls. Hence, hurt with this poor treatment, Konathala sent his resignation letter to Jagan and he immediately approved it without wasting a minute time.   Interestingly, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, with whom differences crops between Jagan and Konathala had left the party soon after it was defeated in the elections. Then he also regrets for leaving the TDP and joining the YSR Congress party.   Later, there were some reports appeared in the media stating that Konathala is going to join TDP or the BJP, but he didn’t joined any party until now. A year gap in political career is suicidal for any politician. Hence, he is said to be discussing with his followers about his future course of political action.   But, after coming out of the party, he stated that YSR Congress party is like a big jail and he feel very happy to come out of it. He said he has faced lot of pressure and pains during his long association with the party. If so, if he is really planning to return to YSR Congress party, then is he believes that the situation in the party is completely changed and he will get a royal treatment from party president Jagan Mohan Reddy? Let us wait and see whether he is really returning to YSR Congress party or not.

Maggi might just face prohibition in India

A bad news for all the instant food lovers, as two- minute maggi came under regulatory scanner, may face a ban in some of the Indian states after it has been found to contain harmful chemicals.   Samples collected from some parts of Uttar Pradesh were tested in the lab and results showed that it contains high amount of monosodium glutamate and lead. Surprisingly, it has been found that maggi contains 17 parts per million lead, while permissible Limit in only 0.01 ppm.   Recently, the lucknow food safety and drug administration has initiated an probe in to the matter and also written to the food authority and standars authority of india( FSSAI) in new delhi to cancel the licence of maggi. “We have tested Maggi samples at Kolkatha’s referral laboratory.   The test results show that there are added monosodium glutamate and excess of lead. We have ordered further sampling,” FSDA Assistant Commossioner vijay Bahadur Yadav was quoted as telling an English daily.The lucknow FSDA further informed FSSAI to check the quality of samples from all over the country. -Srikar.
