AR Rahman too identifies with Amir Khan

  Noted music director AR Rahman reportedly endorses Bollywood super star Amir Khan’s latest statement on growing intolerance in the country. Rahman also experienced some bitter experience some time ago. He reportedly told the media that Raza Academy has issued a ‘fatwa’ against him for composing music to an Iranian film ‘Muhammad: Messenger of God,’ which it believes will send a wrong message to the people who dislike it.   AR Rahman during his visit to NFDC Film Bazaar chit chatting with media said “Even if some people revolt, it should be classy. I think it is very poetic what people are doing rather than hitting each other. India should set an example for the whole world by strictly following Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of nonviolence for achieving any goal.”   When asked if Muslims are unsafe in the country, he said, “I am not in the state of mind to answer this question.” Hence, he also appears to be not happy with the prevailing situation in the country and supporting the scholars who are returning their awards to Centre alleging growing intolerance in the country.

Centre releases Rs.700 crore funds to AP

  Union Finance Ministry in its statement released on Tuesday announced that it has released Rs. 700 crore funds to Andhra Pradesh state on November 23rd as a part of commitment made to it in the AP Reorganization act. It stated that Rs. 350 crore is meant for capital city Amaravati construction and the remaining Rs. 350 crores are for developing the 7 backward districts of Rayalaseema and North coastal AP. It allots Rs. 50 crore to each district of these two regions in the state. Earlier, Centre has released Rs. 1000 crore for Amaravati construction and Rs. 350 crore for backward districts development.   Centre is going to release another Rs. 300 crore in the next few days, probably after conclusion of winter parliament sessions. Officials of finance ministry said parliament has to approve the revised budget proposals for granting this fund. But, Congress party and its allies are said to be gearing for stalling the house proceedings in the winter sessions also like they did in the previous sessions. AP Government and people of state are anxiously waiting for the special financial package that Centre promised to the state.

Turkey gunned down Russian fighter plane!

  Turkey’s two F-16 fighter planes gunned down a Russian Su-24 fighter plane for violating its airspace. According Turkey’s military official, Russian pilots enters into their air space ignoring their repeated warnings.   The two Russian fighter plane pilots parachuted from their burning plane soon after it was hit by Turkey F-16s. However, one of them is reported to be killed while parachuting and other fall into the hands of ISIS terrorists, which means more painful death. Russia immediately sent its military helicopters to rescue its pilots. But, they couldn’t be traced.   A milatary official of Turkey said “This is not first time for Russian fighter planes violating our air space. There were several instances earlier. Russian air force officials came to our country and apologized for violations. Then they assured us for no such mistakes in further. But, it becomes a regular habit for them to cross into our air space. Our air force gunned down the Russian fighter plane to protect our sovereignty and not with any other intensions”   However, Russian fighter plane was found crashed 4 KMs inside Syrian boarders, which makes Russia suspect about Turkey’s intentions. Russian President Vladimir Putin spits fire on Turkey for gunning down his fighter plane.   He said “Our army is doing a heroic war against terrorism. But, the loss today is a stab in the back, carried out by the accomplices of terrorists. I can’t describe it in any other way. Do they want to make NATO serve ISIS terrorists? They should be prepared for facing serious consequences.” This incident ignited sparks between Turkey and Russian governments. Unfortunately, it is turning into a ugly war of words between them.

TRS is likely to distance from Majlis?

  Telangana Chief Minister KCR during his press meet held today after winning in the Warangal by elections said “I am very sure that we will repeat the same miracle in the GHMC elections also. I have survey reports in my hand that confirms victory for our party in GHMC elections also. According to reports, we will definitely win at least 80 out of 150 seats in the elections. So, our party will contest GHMC elections alone without any alliance.”   This announcement made by him is very significant because he is hinting that TRS party will not join hands with Majlis (AIMIM) party, which he has been trying to woo all these months for its support in the GHMC elections. Opposition parties flayed him for altering the design of 2nd phase of metro rail project merely to please Owisi brothers.   However, one can assume that it is not a hasty decision taken after seeing the whooping victory in Warangal by elections, because he says that a survey has been conducted to know the pulse of people of twin cities. So, it is to be understood that CM KCR is now distancing from Owisi brothers and gearing to fight GHMC elections alone.   If so, the political equations may swiftly change in Hyderabad. Congress party which faces humiliation in Warangal by elections may jump at once for grabbing Owisi brothers’ hands. TDP can’t think about shaking hands with Owisis as long as it sailing together with BJP. So, Congress party alone will have the opportunity to shake hands with them.

TRS wins with whooping majority in by elections

  TRS party candidate Pasunuri Dayakar wins the by elections of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency with a whooping majority of 4, 59, 092 votes over his rival party candidates. He bagged total 6, 15, 403 votes. Congress party candidate Sarve Satyanarayana got 1, 53, 315 votes and BJP candidate Dr. Devaiah got 1, 30, 178 votes. Dayakar even breaks the old record of 3, 92, 513 votes majority created by Kadiyam Srihari n these by elections.   Telangana Chief Minister KCR said “This kind of victory can’t be purchased by spending money during elections but is an outcome of the several welfare and development works carried out by our government during past 16 months. We have not allowed any kind of corrupt practices in our government. We have been running the government very transparently. This whooping victory has made us be more responsible and humble to people. We thank people of Warangal for blessing out government.”   He asked the opposition parties give constructive suggestions instead of merely criticizing his government. “I am quite sure that even in GHMC elections this miracle will be repeated. We will certainly win minimum 80 out of 150 seats without taking support of any other party.”   CM KCR said that he will invite Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for Ayita Chandi Yagam to be performed by him in his form house in the next month. Refuting the charges of opposition parties he said “I am performing this Ayita Chandi Yagam with my own money and not taking a single NP from government.”

Warangal by elections results: latest updates

  TRS party is going to win the Warangal Lok Sabha seat with a whooping majority. Its candidate Pasunuri Dayakar, who wins 5, 39, 096 votes at the end of 16th round of counting of votes, is leading with 4, 02,129 votes over his rivals.   Here are the latest updates of leading positions.   TRS: 5, 39, 096, Congress: 1, 36, 967, BJP: 1, 14 787, YSRCP: 20, 666 and others got 1, 01, 899 votes at the end of 16th round of counting.   Still 6 rounds of counting remained. In context of the present leadings, TRS candidate may win the by elections with not less than 4.50 lakhs votes majority in these by elections. Pasunuri Dayakar crossed the record majority of 3, 92, 514 votes set by former MP Kadiyam Srihari from the same constituency and going to set his own all time record. TRS leaders, who are celebrating their victory in these by elections, are stating that this is a positive vote got in favor of their government.

TRS is leading in first two rounds of counting

  TRS candidate Pasunuri Dayakar is clearly leading in first round of counting of votes of Warangal by elections. TRS is leading with 61, 000 votes over its nearest rival Congress party. As predicted, BJP is trailing in the first two rounds. Counting process will be done in 22 rounds.   First Round:      TRS-32,798, Congress-8075, BJP-7591 Second round: TRS-6318, Congress-1432, BJP-914

Warangal by elections results on Tuesday

  Elaborate arrangements were made for counting of votes of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency by elections on Tuesday. District Collector Vakati Karuna said that Enumumula Market Yard has been selected for counting of votes. Seven separate halls were allotted for counting of votes polled in seven assembly constituencies of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency. Counting will begin sharply at 8 am. Sec. 144 has been imposed around the market yard as a precautionary measure, said Collector V Karuna. Since, polling was conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), final results may come out before 10 AM tomorrow.

Committee formed to resolve disputes between AP and Telangana

  Finally, Union Home Ministry formed a five member committee headed by Alok Kumar, the Joint Secretary of Home Ministry today for resolving the unending disputes between AP and Telangana states over several issues. The committee will have resident commissioners of two states, Andhra Pradesh Finance Ministry Chief Secretary Premchand Reddy and Telangana state Finance Ministry Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao as its members. Home Ministry also sets two months deadline for amicably resolving the disputes between two states. This Committee will start its works from Tuesday.

Nagam encourage him to leave BJP?

  Former MLA of Mahaboob Nagar Yennam Srinivas Reddy left BJP today accusing his party for doing nothing for Telangana state.   While leaving the party, Srinivas Reddy said “TRS and BJP did nothing for Telangana state. TRS is gradually distancing from its goal of developing the state. It is now always thinking about on how to face elections and how to win them. However, BJP and Congress parties failed to put it back on to its track. I think they both are not right alternatives for the ruling TRS party. Hence, a perfect alternative political force is to be developed for fulfilling our dreams for golden Telangana state."   "Right now, I may be alone in my fight, but I am sure those who fought for the state may give their blessings to my fight. Instead of honoring them all, TRS government makes them roam around courts and jails,” said Srinivas Reddy.   But, the actual reason is that he is unhappy with the state leadership for not giving his due respect in the party. Another reason is that he and BJP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy together have floated ‘Bachao Telangana’ forum few months ago, even while continuing in BJP. Hence, Nagam Janardhan Reddy may encourage him to quit and handle their forum until he also comes out of BJP.

Chandrababu gives nod for Anam brothers’ admission?

  It is learnt that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given green signal for former Finance Minister of united AP state Anam Rama Narayana Reddy to join TDP. He has been trying to return to TDP for last few months but couldn’t get readmission due to objections raised by Nellore district TDP leaders. It is learnt that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, during his recent visit to Nellore district, convinced his party leaders by assuring them that their importance in the party and the government won’t be affected with his entry.   Actually, Anam Rama Narayana Reddy served as Minister for Roads and Buildings in the NT Rama Rao cabinet. Later, he jumped into Congress party in 1991 and bagged minister posts in Congress Governments. He served as Minister for Information and Public Relations, Municipal Administration and Urban Development in late Rajashekar Reddy’s cabinet. Later, he becomes Minister for Finance and Planning in the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet.   Since, the Congress party’s future seems to be blink in the state, like many other leaders of the party, Anam Rama Narayana Reddy is also abandoning it when it badly needs his help for retaining its lost glory. Perhaps, many others are also waiting for their turn to quit the Congress party. Now it appears that PCC President Raghuveera Reddy alone is representing the party in the state.

10 people injured in gun battle between two groups in New Orleans

  Once again, gun firing resounds in USA on Sunday night at New Orleans city. This time, it is not a single person but a gun battle between two groups. During a video music album shooting at Bunny Friend Park located in upper 9th ward of New Orleans city, two groups clashed with guns. Out of them one is reportedly used a silver colored machine gun. Soon after he opens fire with his machine gun, the other group also opened gun fire against him. According to city police official spokesperson Tyler Gamble, 10 people were injured in this gun battle and all of they were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Michael Harrison condemned the reports of 10 people killed in the gun battle. He said although, some of the injured persons’ condition is critical, so far no reports have been received about anyone deaths.

TRS likely to retain Warangal Lok Sabha seat?

  The huge turnout of voters in the polling held yesterday for Warangal Lok Sabha constituency by elections makes the ruling TRS party very delighted as its efforts for mobilizing them for casting their votes receives good response. After seeing the huge turnout, TRS leaders are expressing full confidence to win this by elections with huge majority. TRS deployed all its top leaders in Warangal Lok Sabha and 7 assembly constituencies in it to make sure victory for its candidate Pasunuri Dayakar.   Out of the 15, 09, 671 voters in Warangal Lok Sabha constituency, 68.59 per cent voters that is 10, 35, 483 voters cast their votes yesterday. Parakala assembly constituency records highest percentage of 76.69 and Warangal west assembly constituency records lowest percentage of 48.03 polling. Although BJP and Congress parties are confident of winning the by elections, according to ground reports Congress may stood in second place and BJP in third place. Results will be declared on November 24th.

Nitish instructs police to strictly maintain rule of law

  As if BJP’s words “return of jungle raj in Bihar state” is echoing in ears, Nitish Kumar held an urgent meeting with the state Police IGs, DIGs, SPs and DMs via video conference on the very next day of his swearing in ceremony.   He instructed them to strictly maintain law and order situation in the state without any compromise. He asked them rule of law should be strictly maintained. He ordered them to deal with firm hand whoever breaking the law and treat such persons as criminals “irrespective of his standing and position”. He made it clear that crime has to be curbed in all circumstances.   This is underlining his fears about Lalu Prasad Yadav and his party leaders’ law-breaking-attitude. Lalu Prasad Yadav virtually transforms the state into a ‘jungle raj’ with his very peculiar style of governance during his 15 years ruling. Now, his party is an equal partner in Nitish Kumar’s government and his two sons are holding key portfolios.   Naturally, it may be a worrying factor for Nitish Kumar, who wants a clean and disciplined government. Hence, he may be trying to hint Lalu and his leaders not to cross their limits and let him run the government in his own style and with his own mark on it. However, Lalu Prasad Yadav may not stop himself for a long time from taking law into his hands. If so, it would be the beginning of troubles for Nitish Kumar government, but he has carry on with Lalu and Co., for next five years.

Rahul Gandhi is rising star!

  Bollywood veteran actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha is one among those who distances from the party for all known reasons. Like all other dissidents, he also now and then fires pot shots at his own party leadership or tries to create some embarrassing situation with his crispy tweeter messages.   However like others, he also prefers to cling to his party although he dislikes it very much. He is very much aware that Bihar assembly elections are very crucial for his party, but he played some spoilsport for his party by praising and moving close with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Hence, BJP sets him aside and goes ahead for elections. BJP leadership is quite annoyed for its defeat in the elections, but not Shatrughan Sinha. His latest tweet message indicates that he is enjoying his party defeat and rivals victory.   His tweet message in his own words: Will miss the ceremony, but Nitishbabu & Laluji, I remain a well-wisher, admirer and friend...and remember, once a friend, always a friend. It has been the victory of democracy. I wish the new government led by Nitishbabu, Laluji and rising star Rahul Gandhi great success.   Shatrughan Sinha, at his 70’s, seems is preparing to play second innings taking side of Nitish, Lalu and Rahul Gandhi. But, the trio may lead him to nowhere. Even Rahul Gandhi may be not sure about his political future but, Shatrughan Sinha sees him as a rising star. Rahul Gandhi would have become Prime Minister of the country, if he could prove his mettle during last ten years of UPA ruling.   He was so scared to occupy the Prime Minister Chair which was kept reserved for him for ten long years. He not even proves worth succeeding his mother Sonia Gandhi as party president. Hence, he is not any rising star but falling star of the Congress party. Perhaps, one day someone else from the party may take party reins from Sonia Gandhi and it would be the end of his political career. But, interestingly Shatrughan Sinha is foreseeing a bright future for him.

Son Rise state-Bihar

  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu often describes the Andhra Pradesh as “Sun rise state.” But, Bihar state will be known as “Son rise state” as RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav successfully installed his two sons Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and Tej Prathap Yadav in Nitish Kumar cabinet as minister and Deputy Chief Minister.   The younger one Tejaswi, a 9th class drop-out straight away become Deputy Chief Minister of the state, merely because he is believed to be Lalu Prasad Yadav’s political successor. Besides Dy. Chief Minister Post, Tejaswi also gets two key portfolios of Roads construction and Buildings construction. Tejaswi has been elected as RJD legislative party leader.   His elder brother Tej Prathap Yadav got Health and Environment portfolios. Lalu’s RJD also clinches the most important portfolio of Finance Ministry. RJD senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui has been given Finance Minister Post. JDU senior leader Bijendra Prasad Yadav has been given Energy Portfolio. He was Finance Minister in the previous government. The state Congress party president Ashok Choudhary got Human Resources portfolio.   Hence, Bihar state is all set for ‘son rise’ under the guidance of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Now, Lalu Prasad Yadav can start steering the Nitish Kumar government sitting in the back seat along with his two sons. BJP leaders describes it the return of “Jungle Raj” in Bihar state.

TRS-BJP lock horns over housing project allotment

  Recently, Union Urban Development Ministry granted nearly 2.23 lakh housing projects to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh states under ‘Pradhamanatri Awas Yojana’ scheme for poor and economical backward sections.   Out of them nearly 1.93 lakh houses have been allotted to Andhra Pradesh and 10,000 houses to Telangana state. It means the lion share goes to Andhra Pradesh. Naturally, it irks the TRS leaders very much and so they are fuming upon the Modi government for showing discrimination towards Telangana state.   Nizamabad MP Kavita said “My constituency alone needs 75, 000 houses, whereas the Centre granted just 10, 000 houses for the whole state. Venkaiah Naidu may belong to AP state, but it doesn’t mean that he can allot 85 of houses to his native state and only 10 per cent to Telangana state. This is very unfair. We will certainly question the Modi government during upcoming Parliament meetings.” Many other leaders of Telangana and TRS are also fuming upon the Centre for showing discrimination towards their state.   However, Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu justifying his decision said “We have not shown any discrimination toward any state including Telangana. I asked my officials to approve the proposals on first-come-first-serve method. AP state sent its proposals first and they made allotment accordingly. Our government will treat all states equal. We are not showing any discrimination towards any state.”   BJP Telangana state president Kishan Reddy backing the Centre’s decision said “Actually, TRS government delayed in sending its proposals. Union Urban Development Ministry wrote letters to all states including Telangana state asking it to send their requirement proposals for these housing projects. Telangana government sat cool until last minute and sent its proposals hours before the meeting that was held on November 18th. However, urban development ministry officials enclosed it’s proposal in their agenda and granted 10, 000 houses as per the proposal sent by it."   "TRS government has no interest in utilizing several schemes and funds being allocated by the Centre to the states. AP government is sending its proposals in time and taking full advantage of the Central schemes and funds. Hence, TRS government should blame itself instead of blaming the Centre. It should take initiative in sending its proposals to the Centre in time,” said Kishan Reddy.

Warangal by elections on Saturday

  Polling for Warangal Lok Sabha constituency will be conducted on Saturday from 7 am to 5 pm. Election Commission made elaborate arrangements for smooth polling. There are total 15, 09, 671 voters in Warangal Lok Sabha constituency and they have to elect one from 23 candidates in fray. Total 1,778 polling stations were arranged.   Pasunuri Dayakar is contesting on TRS ticket, Dr. Devaiah from BJP and supported by TDP, Sarve Satyanarayana is contesting on behalf of Congress party, Nalla Surya Prakash as YSR Congress party candidate and Gali Vinod Kumar is contesting as independent candidate backed by Left parties. Results will be declared on November 24 after counting of votes on the same day. TRS and Congress party both are expressing confidence to win the elections with huge majority.

Gali Janardhan Reddy back to jail again

  Karnataka special investigating team (SIT) constituted by Lokayukta arrested illegal mining king Gali Janardhan Reddy today at Bengaluru, when he appeared before it after being summoned for questioning. IG of Police, SIT KSR Charan Reddy confirmed his arrest. He said Gali Janardhan Reddy was arrested in connection with illegal mining and exporting the same.   Gali Janardhan Reddy, who earlier was arrested in Obulapuram mining case and spent three years in jail, came out on January 20th after Supreme Court grants him bail, but he is returning to jail within 11 months. He was charged for illegal iron ore mining in the Ballari Reserve Forest area that spreads between Ballari and Ananthapur, altering the mining boundaries, abusing his powers as public servant in the OMC case.
