Centre allows TS Vehicle in the Republic Day Parade

The Centre has allowed the iconic vehicle of the AP state in the Republic Day parade that showcases the development of the state. But, it allows the vehicle of the Telangana state only after the TRS MP and the floor leader of the party in Loksabha Jitender Reddy runs from pillar to post for convincing the central ministers. It is probably because the TRS attitude to confront with the Central government on one issue or the other.

First, Jitender Reddy approached the Defence Minister Manohar Parikar with the appeal. But, he turned down his request. Then, he approaches the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and convinced him to allow the state vehicle in the parade. Then Jaitley phoned the Defence Minister and asked him to consider his request. Then only the Defence Minister Parekar has agreed to allow the Telangana state vehicle in the parade.

Generally, the Centre approves the proposals made by the state governments in this regard, but Telangana government has to take pains of convincing the ministers to allow its vehicle in the parade, only because of its confrontation with the Centre on various issues. If seen it objecting the Centre’s decision of amending the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 to increase the number of MLCs of AP state, one can understand why the Centre is annoyed with it.

However, the Centre is still ready to extend its co-operation to Telangana government. It agreed to the Chief Minister KCR’s proposal of changing the AP Express name as Telangana Express. So, Telangana government should avert confrontation, instead of try to improve its relations with the Centre, if it is expecting any support from the Centre.
