SINGUR: Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister went to Vatican City to attend the canonization ceremony of Mother Theresa on Sunday, but she made sure that the state’s machinery works over time for Singur Solatium. 

Hooghly administration’s officials worked on their holiday so that the order of Supreme Court to return the land is met within 12 weeks. The officials tried to accelerate the process of handing out the compensation cheques to the farmers who denied collecting them.  

LA department’s official said, “The deeds are only being examined to determine if the documents are in order”. He added that, as for the compensation price that was for the government to decide. Whereas Subrata Mukherjee, the Minister said that, the compensation amount would be determined based on Supreme Court’s order.
