While, DMK Chief has pushed the UPA into corner by withdrawing his party support, UPA has also made a self goal by its own Minister Beni Prasad Verma’s rude remarks against its main supporter Samajwadi party Chief Mulayam Singh. It not only shakes its foundations but also pose a new threat of forming new political equations against it.
BJP, which is fuming on Congress party for attracting its key ally JDU and its chief Nitish Kumar by offering a bait of ‘special status’ to his Bihar state, grabs this opportunity to widen the gap between Congress and Samajwadi party by supporting Mulayam Singh and his MPs demand for an unconditional apology and expulsion of the concerned minister from the cabinet.
Congress chief Sonia and Prime Minister Dr.Manomohan Singh alerts with BJP’s move were obliged stand before Mulayam Singh with folded hands asking pardon.
However, Mulayam too seems plans to utilize this rare opportunity to slash ties with UPA, on which he is accusing of twisting its hand using CBI tool. However, he said that he will make his stand clear only after talking to his party men in the emergency meeting to be held on Thursday morning.
Hence, UPA has two good reasons to expel its steel minister Beni Prasad, either succumbing to Samajwadi’s demand or for the harm he made to the government with his remarks. When it is obvious it may not take much time to implement its decision.
