Bharat Ratna for NTR says Naidu

The TDP leaders and activists of Telugu Desam Party who had gathered at Gandipeta , Hyderabad for the second day of the Mahanadu celebrations which coincidently also happens to be the 91st birth anniversary of the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the founder president of TDP Nanadamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). Speaking at the event the TDP party head and CM designate for Rest of Andhra Pradesh region, paid homage to the departed leader as the founding father of the party .He acknowledged the party cadre support for the resounding success in the elections and went on to exalt the services rendered by NT Rama Rao to the state of Andhra Pradesh and his role in National Politics .Mr Naidu pledged that he would speak to the Central Government and ensure that N T Rama Rao gets the Bharat Ratna as it was long due which was fitting tribute to the departed leader.

Teething problems begins for Modi Government

  It seems teething problems for Narendra Modi government begins from day one. Modi has given key portfolio of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise to NDA Shiva Sena MP Anant Geete. However, he did not take charge as Minister until now, because his MNS party is not happy with the portfolio and also for allotting only one minister post instead of three posts. MNS is arguing that BJP has promised to allot at least three minister posts and one key portfolio like Power or Railways. So, Ananth Geethe is awaiting his party permission to take charge as cabinet minister. However, BJP argues that it has given very important portfolio to Shivasena, which actually BJP wants to retain for itself. So, the stalemate continues between BJP and Shivasena over allocation of union minister posts.

Modi’s Cabinet constitues SIT in first meeting

  Narendra Modi’s cabinet has met for the first time today evening. The cabinet comes-up with a concrete decision for unearthing the black money dumped in the foreign banks. The cabinet has approved SIT (special investigating team) to be led by retired justice of Supreme Court MB Shah. The SIT will have deputy governor of RBI (Reserve Bank of India), directors of ED (Enforcement Directorate), RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), IB (Intelligence Bureau), RI (Revenue Intelligence), CBI (Crime Branch of India) as members. SIT will study and recommend the union government on how to deal with this serious issue of black money that remains unsolved for decades.   Narendra Modi government has taken a very bold decision in its first meeting, but whether it can complete the task that it begins today or not to be seen in the days to come. Modi cabinet will meet again tomorrow also.

Modi’s first Cabinet Meeting at 5 PM today

As the Prime Minister of the nation Mr Narendra Modi will hold the rights to Finance, Defense and Corporate affairs, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy Department of Space and all important policy issues and all other portfolios not allocated to any other minister.The newly elected Ministers have already started assuming office and are occupying their respective chambers. They are scheduled to meet Mr Modi at 5:00 PM, today in their first Cabinet meeting after the swearing in ceremony yesterday. As per the Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué ,the portfolio allocation of 46 ministers, including 24 cabinet ministers is given as follows. Committed to implement all my promises: Chandrababu

  The 33rd Mahanadu meetings of Telugu Desham party has begun at Gandipeta today morning in a quite celebrative atmosphere because of TDP is returning to power in Andhra Pradesh state after a long interval of ten years. Senior and junior leaders from both Andhra and Telangana regions have come in large numbers to meeting today. All the MPs and MLAs, who won in the recent elections, have become special attraction in the meeting. Especially Balakrishna, who won from Hindupur, has become real star in the meeting. His brother Harikrishna also arrived for the meeting, but he couldn’t draw anyone’s attention because of his strained relations with party and its chief Chandrababu Naidu. Chandrababu in his address to party leaders and workers has explained about how he has strived hard all these years to strengthen the party by conducting Vasthunna Mee Kosam Padayatra and various programs similar to that. He attributed the victory to party leaders and workers. He reiterated that he is committed to implement all the elections promises made to people, including loan waiving etc. He expressed full confidence that his government can overcome all the problems with its honest efforts. He said that he will effort to put the state back onto its track. He also reiterated that his government will build a new capital for AP that is on par with Singapore. He said there is a friendly government at Centre to back him in all his efforts.

Electrical Employees call off strike

  Finally, electrical employees have called off their flash strike that virtually brought the state to a standstill position. Transco MD Suresh Chanda, Transco JMD Ramesh, Genco MD Vijayanand and CMDs of EPDL, CPDCL, NPDCL, SPDCL  participated in the negotiations with electrical employees, JAC representatives Sudhakar Rao, Sitaram Reddy, Gopal and few others.   Finally, they struck a deal on Monday night after the management agreed to pay 27.5 percent interim increment including Fitment benefit and increment points. They also agreed for 10 percent interim increment to contract employees. Management has convinced the employees to negotiate with the new governments about their other demands and further hike in wages. Employees JACs have called off their strike after the management had given them assurance in written form implementing the agreement that takes between them.   So, Chandrababu and KCR, who are going to take charge as Chief Ministers of Andhra and Telangana, should be prepared to meet their further demands.

When Modi remembered Nehru

  Today is Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s 50th death anniversary. The first Prime Minister of Independent India and the architect of Modern India, he was responsible for developing the country post the Independence era. Mr Narendra Modi the 15th Prime Minister of India paid his respects to the leader via a tweet “I pay my tributes to our 1st Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his Punya Tithi”, after assuming office as the 15th Prime Minister of India yesterday at a grand ceremony held in an open air ceremony at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi.

Modi’s tentative Compact Cabinet

      As PM designate Narendra Modi who will be sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India, it is said that he will head a 45 member cabinet comprising of a Total of 24 cabinet ministers, 10 Independent charges and 11 MoS .Mr Nripendra Misra is designated to be principal secretary to the PM. Rajnikanth to skip Modi’s swearing-in ceremony

  Kollywood superstar Rajnikanth is one among those film stars, who is invited to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing in ceremony to be held today. However, he is not attending the function, because his fans and some students have staged dharna in front of his house yesterday night, demanding him not to attend the function in protest against Sri Lanka President Rajapaksa presence in the function. All the political parties in Tamilnadu, except BJP have been strongly opposing inviting of Sri Lanka president Rajapaksa. So, Rajnikanth is also not attending the function, obeying his fans demand.

Mahanadu Meetings on 27, 28

  TDP is making elaborate arrangements for its annual fair of Mahanadu meetings marking the occasion of its founder president Late NTR's Birthday. This year also TDP will conduct Mahanadu meetings at Gandipet, Hyderabad on 27th and 28th. Before that, TDP will hold mini Mahanadu meetings at district level, where separate resolutions on local issues and state level issues will be passed. Later, they will be presented in main Mahanadu meetings at Hyderabad for further discussion and approval. This time TDP is celebrating Mahanadu meetings with full its full spirits as it is returns to power after a long interval of 10 years. Moreover, TDP has to shoulder full responsibility of building new capital and infrastructure for Andhra Pradesh state, while fulfilling its election promises that need crores of rupees. So, TDP is expected to brainstorm on these issues during its Mahanadu Meetings, apart from several other issues.

Ghoraknath express accident- Death toll 20

      There has been a major rail accident in Santh Kabirnagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh where the Gorakhnath express rammed into a stationery goods train. The incident occurred this morning when the express train came on the same track near Churaid Railway Station, as per the rail authorities there. Around 20 people have reportedly died in the accident and more than 50 people have been severely injured in this accident. The railway authorities have reached the spot and rescue operations have started. Around 6 coaches have been damaged in this incident and the number of injured could rise after more confirmed reports come in.

Modi Cabinet Ministers Names

  Narendra Modi Cabinet Ministers’ list has been handed over to President Pranab Mukharji today. Therefore, the concerned persons are being informed by the President’s office to make themselves available for oath taking ceremony along with Modi today evening.   According to latest information the persons likely joining Modi cabinet are: BJP president Rajnath Singh-Home Ministry, Nithin Gadkari-Railways and Road Transport, Arun Jaitli- Finance, Sushma Swaraj- Foreign Affairs, Ravi Shankar Prasad Communications and Broadcasting, Harsha Vardhan- Health, Ministry. Arun Shouri may be appointed as deputy Chairman of Planning Commission lead by Narendra Modi himself. M.Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, Ashok Gajapathi Raju from Andhra and Telangana states, Menaka Gandhi, VK Singh, Piyush Goel and few others will be joining in Modi’s cabinet.

Two students from AP scaled Everest Mountain

In a rare feat, two students Maalawath Poorna and Sadhanapalli Anand have scaled Everest Mountain on Sunday morning. While, Poorna (13) is studying class 9th in Tadwai Gurukula School in Nizamabad, Anand (18) is Inter first year student studying in Khammam. Poorna’s parents are daily wage labor and Anand’s father is a cycle mechanic. They both scaled the world’s tallest mountain Everest on Sunday morning around 6 AM and hoisted Indian Flag there. They also planted Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar and former IAS officer Shankaran’s photos there. Poorna also creates a new world record of youngest mountaineer, who climbed Everest Mountain. Poorna and Anand have rigorous training for around two months at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute for climbing Mount Everest. According to latest reports they both have safely reached the base camp-3 a short while ago and are expected to reach ground level by tomorrow early morning.  

Pak and Sri Lanka released Indian prisoners from jails

  BJP has invited all the members of SARC to grace Narendra Modi’s swearing in ceremony function to be held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan tomorrow. All of they, including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have agreed to grace the function. The hardliners in Pakistan Army and the political circles have objected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to attend the function, because Modi and his party is representing communal BJP.   However, brushing aside their objections Nawaz Sharif is also attending Modi’s swearing in ceremony tomorrow. On this occasion he has ordered for the release of all 132 Indian prisoners from the Pakistan jails immediately, thus hinting that his government would like to maintain cordial relations with Modi government. Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa also issues similar orders for the release of all the Indian fishermen from Sri Lankan jails immediately. However, all the political parties in Tamilnadu including ruling AIADMK lead by Tamilnadu Chief Minister Kum Jayalalitha are planning to boycott Modi’s swearing in ceremony, in protest against inviting Sri Lankan president Rajapaksa, who ordered for the military action against LTTE cadres, during which thousands of innocent Tamil people were brutally killed. However, BJP ignores their objections and ready to give him a warm welcome.

TDP to get only one Union Minister post

  NDA alliance partner TDP will get only one Union Minister post in Narendra Modi’s cabinet. TDP president Chandrababu also confirmed this report to his MPs today morning. Actually, so far it was reported that Modi has proposed one Cabinet two Minister of state posts to each five MPs of his NDA alliance partners. Since, TDP has 17 MPs it expects three union minister posts to it. However, during the last round of talks held between Modi, BJP leaders and Chandrababu Naidu on yesterday night, Modi told them that he wants to form a small cabinet with 20 ministers. So, he offered only one Union minister post to TDP. So, now Chandrababu has to choose one from two senior leaders Ashok Gajapati Raju and Sujana Chowdary. According to latest information, Chandrababu opts for Ashok Gajapati Raju as he is the senior most leaders in the party.

AP Electrical Employees on strike mode

  While, Andhra Pradesh state is all set to divide into two states as Andhra and Telangana on the appointed day of June 2nd, all the associations of state Electrical Board went on lightning strike from Saturday, demanding to implement the wage revision agreement. AP Electrical Board JAC representatives told the media that they will continue strike till PRC is approved. Transco CMD Suresh Chanda and Genco MD K.Vijayanand hold talks with the JAC representatives on Sunday morning, but in vain. Later, Governor Narasimhan reviewed the situation and is reported to be approved 27 per cent hike in employees’ wages. However, Telangana electrical JAC leaders are not happy with Governor’s decision as they are expecting a minimum 32 per cent hike in the wages. Hence, they are planning to continue strike. Transco and Genco managements may hold a final round of talks on Sunday evening.

YCP MP quits party, join TDP

  Nandyala YCP MP SPY Reddy, who few months ago migrated from Congress to YCP again jumped fence today. He joined TDP in the presence of party president Chandrababu at Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi today. Along with him, Neelakantam husband of Kurnool YCP MP Butta Renuka also joined TDP today. Hence, it is understood that his wife also joins TDP. Senior TDP leader CM Ramesh told the media that they assume Renuka also joined TDP with her husband’s admission into party.   SPY Reddy said that he joins TDP only for developing his constituency and he has no grudges with Jagan Mohan Reddy or any one in YCP. He expressed full confidence that he can get re-elected with huge majority, if he is disqualified by YCP.
