  • Crucial by polls for 4 Lok Sabha seats

      Voting is being held for 10 assembly and 4 Lok Sabha seats today. Elections are being held for Kairana (Uttar Pradesh), Bhandara-Gondiya and Palghar (Maharashtra), and Nagaland Lok Sabha seats. Three of these Lok Sabha seats were being held by the BJP and losing these elections would be a strong shock to the national party which is already facing hurdles. There were even rumours that the party is losing its majority in Lok Sabha due to back to back defeats.

    Kanishk Gold MD arrested

      The MD of Chennai based jewellery merchandise Bhoopesh Kumar Jain was arrested by the ED yesterday. Bhoopesh was facing charges for defaulting the banks with loans worth more than 800 crores. He was produced before a metropolitan magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody till June 8. The complaint alleged that he had obtained huge loans from 14 banks for business purposes. However he has obtained these loans against fraudulent records.

    Facebook spied on private data

      Even before the storm of Cambridge Analytica is yet to settle, Facebook faces another controversy. A startup company named Six4Three has filed a suit against FB in America. It alleged that the social media giant is accessing private information such as user locations and private text messages to collect data that could favour some of Facebook products and features available on smartphones. However Facebook denied these allegations.

    Baby powder pays 170 crores for causing cancer

      Johnson & Johnson baby powder was awarded 25.7 million dollars as compensation. Reason! A plaintiff has convinced the jury that an ingredient in the powder has caused mesothelioma, a lung cancer linked to asbestos exposure. However Johnson & Johnson has denied these charges and said that it would fight against the judgement “We will continue to defend the safety of our product because it does not contain asbestos or cause mesothelioma,” the company said in statement.

    BJP files complaint against porn site

    The BJP unit of Assam is really furious over a porn site. Reason! A porn site was created with the name BJP ASSAM. The site was tracked down to Kenya. The BJP leaders in Assam has registered a complaint with IT cell to take action against the website. “I think someone created a fake website to malign the party. This objectionable site is registered in Kenya and has tweaked our web address,” party spokesman Mr. Goswami said.

    London serious on Tamilnadu killings

      The police firing in Thoothukudi ofTamilnadu was loud enough to be heard at London. Police had fired over the innocent people who were protesting over a copper industry led by Vedanta group. The headquarters of the controversial industry is based in London. Britain’s opposition Labour Party has taken the issue seriously and called for a strict action against Vedanta. It has even called for Vedanta Resources to be delisted from the London Stock Exchange.

    Petrol prices rise for 11 days in row

    Petrol has reached it’s all time high at Rs. 85 in Mumbai. Though the government has put hold on the prices during the Karnataka elections, it has left the thread loose after the polling was over. This has led the prices to increase for 11 consecutive days. The increase of crude oil prices and falling of Indian rupee is causing a spur in the fuel prices. But there has been an allegation that the government is doing nothing to curb the prices.

Ram kumar has trained more than 100 people to pose themselves as the customer care executives of various banks. These people would call gullible customers and trap them in the pretext of linking their bank accounts with aadhaar card. After obtaining the inmost details of their bank accounts, they would extract every penny from those accounts. Ram Kumar and his trainees were said to have duped more than one lakh people across the country.

    Blast in Indian restaurant at Canada

      A blast has occurred in a Indian Restaurant at Toronto in Canada. Police suspect that a powerful explosive has been used to create the blast. The restaurants name is Bombay Bhel which is a provides Indian cuisine in Mississauga, a suburb of the Canadian city of Toronto. However the reason of the blast is unknown though the police have identified two suspects and are trying to track them down. Though no casualties were recorded, more than 12 people are said to be seriously injured.

    Father of Sri Lanka cricketer shot dead

      Father of noted Sri Lankan cricketer Dhananjaya de Silva was shot dead. The player`s father is Mr. Ranjan who is a local politician. According to the police, unidentified gunmen has shot him down at the midnight of Thursday. Investigations were under way and no conclusions were yet made regarding the cause of murder. Hearing the demise of his father Dhananjaya has withdrawn from the test match series with West Indies.

    Amazon to ban people returning items

      One of the policies of Amazon that attract customers is it’s returning policy. Customers can return back the goods if they are not satisfied enough. But it could be play time for some customers. They often order the goods and return them without valid reasons. Keeping such customers in mind Amazon has started banning such people from shopping on its site. "We want everyone to be able to use Amazon, but there are rare occasions where someone abuses our service over an extended period of time," explained an amazon representative.

    Petrol price will come down in 3 days

      Feeling the fury of the common man over ever increasing petrol prices, government seems to be considering to give some relief to the nation. BJP president Amit Shah has yesterday hinted that the petrol prices would be coming down soon. “The government is seriously looking into the issue. On Wednesday Petroleum Minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) is meeting with heads of petroleum companies. I am hopeful that something will happen in 3-4 days,” he said.

    10 killed in police firing

      Tamilnadu has yesterday witnessed a bloody situation when ten people were killed in police firing. The police had fired guns on the protestors who were demanding the closure of a company named Sterlite Copper in the city of Thoothukudi. Locals alleged that the company was responsible for spoiling the water and air around its premises. Yesterday, the protests have reached news heights marking the 100th day. The protestors tried to enter the Thoothukudi Collectorate and the police had to fire resulting in 10 casualties and injuries to more than 60 people.

      Indian cricket fans might be aware of the name Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja has been a revelation to Indian cricket team who has proven his talent with numerous achievements. The incident occurred Jamnagar when Reeva's car allegedly hit the motorcycle of the constable who has then furiously attacked her.
