US doesn’t want tensions to escalate

WASHINGTON: United States, in order to de-escalate tensions in security interest of the region, had called for dialogue between India and Pakistan. On Thursday, Mark Toner, the state Department Deputy Spokesperson said to the reporters that, they strongly encourage in all of their dealings with either India or Pakistan stronger relations between the two countries. It was clearly in the security interest of the region that they work to de-escalate tensions and that they had dialogue, he added. Toner also said that, that was something they constantly encourage for just that- or out of just that concern, which was that they don’t want to see tensions escalate, spiral out of control, and lead to some kind of incident. It was important for the two countries as well as the two governments to maintain strong, cordial and productive relations, said the Spokesperson.
