RTC strike will continue: Union Leaders

RTC Employees strike has reached 6th day today, but there is no sign of ending it as both governments and the union leaders have stick to their stands. RTC Union leader Padmakar told the media they will continue strike till the governments agree to their demands. Replying to a media question he said they will file a counter in the High Court on Tuesday and explain the court why they are continuing the strike despite it orders for discontinuing it. He said, they will take a decision after hearing court opinion on their counter.

AP and Telangana governments both have formed ministers’ sub-committees to resolve this issue. AP government is prepared to pay 24 percent fitment to its RTC workers as against their demand for 43 percent fitment. The AP sub-committee asked three weeks’ time and to discontinue strike until then, but the RTC union leaders have refused to its proposal.

Telangana CM KCR is reportedly prepared to pay 35 percent fitment to the Telangana RTC employees. Ministers Jagadish Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav were nominated as members of the sub-committee. They are likely to hold talks with the RTC Employees’ union leaders today evening.

If, the Telangana RTC union leaders agree for that offer then the APS RTC union leaders also may settle for the same. If the AP government also agrees for that figure, the six days long strike may come to end, otherwise strike will continue in the AP state only.
