In yet another case of racial attack in Delhi, a woman from Manipur was allegedly subjected to racial harassment at the Delhi airport. The woman from Manipur has accused an immigration officer at Delhi airport of saying she "didn't look Indian". Monika Khangembam who had to face the racial attack said that she was asked questions like "How many states are there in India?" and how many states does Manipur share its borders with and which are those, she was asked these questions apparently because the immigrations officer wanted to know how much of an Indian is she. She took to Facebook to vent out her anger against the way she was treated for being from Northeast.
She is a corporate communications professional who was travelling to South Korea for a conference. Though she was getting late to catch her flight and she informed the officer about the same, she was not let off any time soon because the officer kept asking such questions and insisted on her answering them before catching the flight. Monika is planning to file a complaint once she returns from Seoul after 15 days. The authorities however said that there was no official complaint made and hence he they can only conduct an enquiry once they receive a complain.
