Sambalpur: People of western Odisha celebrate the special festival ‘Nuakhai’ with joy, devotion and religious intensity on Tuesday. The rice that comes from the recently harvested paddy will be offered to Maa Samaleswari Devi on this occasion.  Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India greeted western Odhisa people on this occasion. Modi’s recent tweet that has been posted on the social networking site said, “Nuakhai Juhar. Greetings to the people of Orissa on this special festival. May this festival bring more prosperity in the lives of farmers”.Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Orissa also greeted the citizens of the state on the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai.
