The two communist countries China and Russia seems very upset to see India inching toward their enemy country USA. Both countries have decided to back India to move a proposal in United Nations that may corner Pakistan for providing shelter and funds to terrorists involved in the 26/11 carnage and other attacks in the country. Actually, China has stated that Pakistan is its good friend and would like to work with it closely. It made this statement during Obama’s visit to India. But, this magical change in China’s attitude towards India comes after India’s foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj’s immediate visit to China after Obama’s departure from New Delhi. Of course, the US President Obama’s visit to India also helped her in convincing China that it need to support India.
Although, India inches towards the US, India’s relationship with Russia is intact as ever before. So, Russia is also willing to support India’s proposal to be moved against Pakistan. China and Russia also agreed to back India to play a larger role the United Nations, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. US also agreed to support India in UN and APEC also.
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi, his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in a joint communiqué stated “underlined the need to bring to justice perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of terrorist acts.” India has moved this resolution two decades ago, but it has been shelved till now as Indian External Affairs Ministry had not put enough efforts to convince major players in the UN. If, India could succeed in getting the nod of UN to its proposal, Pakistan may be forced handover the terrorists involved in the attacks on India. It will also endorse a point that Pakistan has turned a terrorists’ hub, which may attract many restrictions from the UN.
