Today, Supreme Court has given its final judgment on 1993 Mumbai blasts case convicting death punishment to main accused Yakub Memon and life sentence to 10 others, who were found guilty in the case. While delivering its verdict, SC has criticized the TADA court for mishandling the terrorists case and also raise finger against Pakistan and its ISI for training terrorists on its soil against India. SC also suspects the role of customs officials, whom it believes have breached the country’s interests by joining hands with terrorists in transporting the weapons into the country.
Supreme Court convicts Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt with 5 years jail term as against 6 years term given by TADA court earlier in connection with illegal arms possession case. However, since he has completed 18 months jail term in the past, now he has to stay 3.5 years in jail now. The Court gives him 4 weeks to surrender himself before it. Sanjay Dutt has told the media that he will file a review petition soon in the court.
