YCP elects Mekapati as parliamentary leader

YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy has conducted a meeting with his newly elected MPs at Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad today. They have elected Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy as their parliamentary floor leader.

Actually, YS Vijaya Lakshmi, the honorary president of the party is expected to lead the party MPs in the parliament. However, since she was defeated from Vizag by BJP Seemandhra president Kambampati Hari babu in the elections, she lost the chance. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was an MP last time, has shifted to Assembly seat, hoping to become Chief Minister of the state. However, he won but his party was defeated in the elections. So, he also can’t lead his MPs in the parliament. Obviously, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, being senior most leader in the party got the chance.
