KCR receives Guard of Honour and makes promises

After the swearing in Ceremony at the Raj Bhawan the newly elected Chief Minister of the 29th state of India – Telangana Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao drove to the Parade Ground near Secunderabad where he received the Guard of Honour . In an impressive ceremony where the police force presented the Ceremonial  March past and salute to the newly elected CM Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao delivered his maiden speech as the CM of the state of Telangana.

He started his speech describing the moment as a wonderful event in the history of Telangana and the agitation which had strived to get freedom for the state. After reading the speech he quickly reverted to his extempore self and spoke about  the administration and rehabilitation of the State would be the sole agenda. He listed out  the promises made in the Telangana Manifesto and vowed to remove political corruption from the state:A few of them are as follows:


  • Hyderabad will be made a slum-less city. To have 10,000 video surveillance cameras.
  • Telangana  Government will show Zero tolerance towards atrocities against women
  • Weekly Holidays for policemen; new vehicles and communication equipment for police
  • Dalit, tribal, minority and BC welfare to get one lakh crore in next five years. 50K crore for Dalit
  • KCR promises to encourage seed cultivation in Telangana. Vows to make state seed bowl of world based on scientific crop research studies
  • Assures support to Pharma, Poultry and Real Estate sectors.
  • RS 1000 for Monthly old age pensions and  for beedi workers, Rs 1500 for handicapped
  • Construction of two BHK houses will be built for BCs
  • Telangana to be a power surplus state in next three years.
  • Telangana Govt. to maintain cordial relations with neighboring States
  • Special increment to all Govt employees. Health cards to be given shortly

He will assume office at the Secretariat at after 12 50 PM and occupy the C Block at the Secretariat with the Telangana employees there. The A,B,C,D blocks of the Secretariat have been designated for the State of Telangana
