It appears Congress high command is strategically making moves to win the hearts of people of Andhra Pradesh to retain its lost glory. It is clearly visible with its MP Jairam Ramesh strongly defending Polavaram Project during the debate in Rajyasabha. Yesterday, he once again raised the point of granting Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. He asked the NDA government, why it didn’t mentioned this point in its budget. He reminds the government that Uttarakhand state was first given special status and later it was approved by the national development counsel. Hence, he demands NDA government to immediately accord Special Status to Andhra Pradesh as promised in the AP Reorganization bill-2014.
Whether, his arguments in favor of AP will convince the people of the state and make them forgive the Congress party or not, he made it clear that MPs and Ministers of the state should keep stressing on this point till Special Status is granted, otherwise NDA government may also ignore this point. They should realize that already the state loses some big industries to Telangana because it couldn’t accord Special Status until now and unless it is accorded at the earliest, the state may further lose many big industries. Unless, the state gets Special Status, it is impossible to convince the entrepreneurs to invest in the state. So, all the MPs and Ministers of the state should keep stressing the NDA government for Special Status.
