The stalemate between India and Italy over returning the two Italian marines will be ending soon. Italy has agreed to send back its two marines Massimiliano and Salvatore, who are wanted by Supreme Court in connection with killing of two Indian fishermen at Kerala sea coast.
The Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti and Defense Minister Giampaola, who said to be satisfied with the ‘ample assurances’ given by the concerned Indian authorities on the treatment of their two marines have announced that soon they are sending them back to India for facing trial in Indian courts. Further, keeping in view of the assurances and undertaking given by the two marines and the Italian ambassador to Supreme Court, this decision was taken to drop curtains on this ongoing diplomatic war between the two countries. They said the two marines also have agreed to return to India and face the trial.
