IIT-B students to wear Khadi on convocation!

In a bid to get the feel of nationalism in the students, the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay has chosen Khadi uttarias or angavastrams" made of honey comb towel cotton khadi for the convocation ceremony of its graduating batch. According to the sources the IIT Bombay has placed an order for 3,500 convocation robes made of khadi cotton, inculcating the feeling of nationalism in the students.
In a statement issued this is what the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises had to say about the latest development, "IIT- Mumbai chooses Khadi as their convocation robe. After Gujarat University, now khadi has also made a niche in the hearts of authorities of premiere Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai". Khadi has been at the centre of Narendra Modi’s plan of reviving the traditional textile industry and the prime minister has repeatedly exhorted the public to increase its use of the fabric, especially through his monthly radio address, Mann ki Baat.
