The global economy is at crucial juncture

HANGZHOU: Xi Jinping, the president of China said at the opening of the two day G20 summit that, the global economy was being threatened by the rising protectionism and risks of high leverage were accumulating.


The president said that, the global economy was at a crucial juncture hemmed in by sluggish demand, financial market volatility and feeble trade and investment. Growth drivers from the previous round of technological progress were gradually fading, while a new round of technological and industrial revolution had to gain momentum. 


Vladimir Putin from Russia, Shinzo Abe from Japan, Theresa May from Britian, Angela Merkel from Germany, Francois Hollande from France, and Narendra Modi from India are attending the G20 summit in Hangzhou, China.
