AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers are reportedly planning to lay foundation stone for the capital city construction on June 11 or 12th this year in Thullur. Astrologers have suggested these two dates are very auspicious for starting construction work. Since, Chandrababu Naidu’s government complete one year term by then, they are also believe that it would be appropriate time for beginning such massive works.
AP government has appealed the Centre to release Rs.20,000 crore for first phase of construction of the capital city in which Assembly, Secretariat, High Court, Raj Bhavan, CM’s Camp Office, Buildings for various state government head offices, Ministers, Officials and employees quarters will be constructed. But, it is learnt that Centre asked it submit a detailed drawings and estimations for this purpose. Unless the Singapore companies handover the master plan of the core capital, state government can’t prepare estimations randomly. Singapore Companies have assured that they will hand over the master plan of the core capital city by the time it lays foundation stone in June. Hence, final estimations can be submitted to the Centre only after receiving the master plan from them.
So, in the meantime state government is trying to complete the land acquisition process. But, it is facing resistance from 9 villages out of 29 in Thullur Mandal. So far, it acquires 14,800 acres only, whereas its target is double that figure. Municipal minister P Narayana said that he is quite hopeful to complete this process before end of February or Mid-March. He said that Singapore Company and the state government are in constant touch with each other.
