Cadbury plant in Chittoor soon

Cadbury, a name that needs no special introduction is all set to launch its production plant in Chittoor district with an estimated cost of Rs.1000 crore. Cadbury India, has signed an agreement on Wednesday with Sri City to take on lease 134 acres of land for the proposed facility. The plant is expected to start its production activities in mid-2015 after completion of first phase. The plant will be developed in four stages and the final phase is expected to complete by 2020. The new plant will provide around 1,600 direct jobs by 2020 and provides indirect employment to equal numbers. It also comes a blessing for ancillary units, farmers, retailers and others in the state.
Anand Kripalu, the President of Mondelez International India and South Asia said this will be the largest production unit that manufactures wide variety of its products. He said "This investment will build on our success in India till date and ensure long term business sustainability. India is one of the priority emerging markets for Mondelez International. As leaders in the chocolate category in India and with aggressive growth plans for other categories, it heralds our commitment and intention for this market.”
