New twists in the Bihar politics

The political drama in the ruling JD (U) party in the Bihar state has reached its climax after the Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has given the Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi one week time to prove his strength in the floor on February 20th.
While Jitan Ram welcomes his decision, Nitish Kumar, who is trying to clinch his Chief Minister seat is fuming on the Governor for allowing horse trading of his supporters. Jitan ram is banking on the BJP’s 88 MLAs support, but he still needs at least 3 dozen MLAs of his party to retain his government.
BJP is reportedly told him that it can support him only if he could attract at least 35-45 MLAs of his party, who recently switched their loyalty to Nitish Kumar. So, it is natural that Nitish Kumar cries foul on governor’s decision, but at the same time he is conveniently ignoring a point that he is the one who begun this power game.
If, Jitan Ram Manjhi could attract his party MLAs back to his fold, then he can retain his chair and power otherwise Nitish Kumar will have that chance. Hence all is well that ends well in the Bihar state politics.
