Welcome back. It's really amazing to know how breath can change every aspect of life. We have started with handling our emotions, specially negative. When the emotions change we are now able to observe how our breath pattern changes and by consciously changing that breath pattern we now know how to relax.

In this article let us explore about a little more subtler aspects of our lives-THOUGHTS. Yes you read it right, I am talking about thoughts that control our mind. Most of the times we feel if we can control our thought there is nothing more required in life but that's where the problem is. Most of our life we waste our time by thinking about things we don't want to. 

Now it's important for you to understand that for what ever you give time and thought, only that you will expand and nurture in your life. You can observe that in your day to day lives. Observe how your day goes when you think about wonderful and happy moments. And how it goes when you are brooding over sad moments.

So now we will see how we can control our thoughts with our breath. Actually we do that without awareness. Sometimes thoughts become narrow and concentrated. Some times they are broad and expand. Examples of such state are when there is a pain in the body, our thoughts become narrow. They are concentrated in the pain and how much ever we try they tend to come back to the pain. And some times we feel so lost that we are not aware of what's happening around. In this state our thoughts broaden and we expand. By being aware we have the capacity to either concentrate or expand our thoughts. We are supposed to expand our thoughts when we have pain and narrow them when we are lost.

So let's get into how we can practice this. Before starting let me tell you, this practice can take you to deep spiritual experience some times. So give enough time for your self for practicing this every day.

Choose a comfortable position. Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. With each breath-cycle follow these affirmations.

Breathe in, taking everything and everyone into your self....... filling yourself with all that exists around you.

Breathe out, giving yourself to everything and everyone........emptying yourself of all that exists within you.

Breathing in, merging everything and everyone with yourself

Breathing out, merging yourself with everything and everyone.

Let the breaths be slow and long. Be with yourself. Be passionate while you are breathing. Feel each breath, add feeling into each breath. You can express your feelings by moving your hands in a rhythmic movement. You can close the eyes to get into a deeper state.

Read the above affirmations two to three times before starting the process. You can also do it in a group, one of you taking lead.
