The Brahmotsavam will be celebrated for 10 days and take place in Upper and Lower ahobilam. The Theppotsavam will be conducted in Lower Ahobilam Pushkarani from 18 March 2014 to 20 March 2014. The Brahmotsavam will be celebrated in presence of H.H 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan. The 10-day annual `Brahmotsavam' at Ahobilam temple near Allagadda, 150 km from here, got off to a traditional start on Thursday. `Ankurarpana' at Upper Ahobilam. All celebrations began one day late at lower Ahobilam. Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan chief priest of Upper Ahobilam temple and his assistants performed `Dwajarohanam' hoisting the temple flag marking the celebrations.
The processional deities of Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy, Laxmi Devi and Chenchu Laxmi were taken out in a colourful palanquin. The presiding diety of Sri Ahobila Mutt is Sri LakshmiNarasimha (also called Malolan). There are 9 Narasimha temples in Sri Ahobilam and the presiding Jeeyar (Azhagiya Singar) of the Sri Ahobila Mutt is considered to be the 10th Narasimha. The Supreme Lord took the avatar of Sri LakshmiNarasimha to protect the child Prahalada and his unshakeable faith in Sriman Narayana, and to destroy evil. The Lord in this Form is an instant grantor of the devotee’s prayers. The Moolavar and Utsavar Moorthies at the Temple are a divine sight to behold.
